VCSP makes it possible to review and approve proofs - even for high value color ads - collaboratively in real time online, saving all the time of waiting for the exchange of packages through courier services. It is now conceivable to do three, or even more, rounds of approvals for the advertising client in a single day. Similar time gains will be made in the final delivery of the ad to the publisher where no time will be wasted writing CDs, filling in job tickets to be faxed, and then having to wait for the courier to pick up the package and deliver it. The file is automatically run against the exact preflight criteria that the newspaper or publisher requires, and the monitor proof is run against the exact press profile at the publication. This means that the advertiser's expectations of the reproduction of the ad are set much more realistically; and the publisher can be sure from the Certificate delivered with the ad that it is print-ready. Also, because the approved proof is digitally archived and guaranteed to be the same file that is delivered to the publisher, there is an overall gain in control throughout the process, as well as a readily auditable process for all concerned.
