Western Sands Motel

The room was very dirty I had to go to the front desk and ask them to clean the bathroom, the shower was discussing, the curtain had mold, and the swimming pool water was green everything was dirty, there was a guy doing drugs behind our room and2 guys came knocking on the door, the motel is dirty scary and ghetto

Place was very nice and convenient

Average, mostly clean. Should be deep cleaned after every guest though. TV did not work. My big critique is the door had a big gap at the bottom. Indio can get windy, so a lot of dust, dried leaves, etc was able to get into the room. The AC unit had a light indicating the filter needed to be changed, would not know when the last time it was changed.

Very outdated, run-down, unprepared, unsafe. Cannot open the shower door fully or it would break off the rusted hinge. There was a large gap under the door which let in grasshoppers so I had to stuff a rolled towel under the door to block them. The tv never connected to signal. My door wouldn’t unlock with the key, had to walk back to the secured window at night with my luggage, in the dark. The key didn’t work for either, but finally did when rested on top of the sensor for one minute. The shower water had low pressure and was not even warm, I decided to wash my hair in the sink instead, while I was shivering from the cold shower. The packets of complimentary shampoo were empty, all 4. Only air inside. The second bed did not have pillow cases, only stained pillows, but I did not want to walk to the front desk again, so we just didn’t use that bed. The kitchen had a locked door to some type of room that had bright lights on all night, so that made my room bright all night. It was the worst motel experience ever and I am writing this so others don’t stay here.

Staff was okay responding to our needs but the place itself was not worth placing on Hotels.com lust!!! There was no hot water in the taps until a staff discovered the faucets are all backwards and takes about 10 minutes to warm up. It has full kitchen amenities but no utensils or pots and pans. The microwave barely functions but the ref can cool foods down to freezing. There were no trash bins in the room except for a small one by the toilet. In short, the amenities needed for a restful stay are lacking!!! Will not go back and Hotels.com should remove from their list. Definitely a 1 star place only because my parking spot was directly in front of our unit!
