Our stay in Venice came with a plot twist. Even though we’d confirmed our reservation months ahead there was an unexpected issue with the original property on the morning of check-in. Honestly, it could’ve been a stressful start but our hosts handled it so gracefully that it became a highlight of the trip.They moved us to another one of their properties - while the new location wasn’t quite as central to our itinerary the upgrade in size and style made us feel like royalty. The apartment was absolutely stunning. Spacious and beautifully designed. The balcony stole the show. Overlooking the canal it felt like something out of a dream.The check-in process was fully online, which was super convenient. Everything was smooth, clear, and easy to navigate, which we appreciated after a long travel day. It’s also obvious the hosts take a lot of care with their spaces. Everything felt intentional and well-maintained, and I have no doubt the original apartment would have been just as lovely.One note for anyone tempted to let the breeze in: the canal air is magical, but the mosquitoes aren't. We made the mistake of leaving windows open too long and paid for it in itchy bites. Totally our fault, but worth mentioning for future guests.Despite the location shift this turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our trip. It was elegant, peaceful, and felt like a real treat. If you’re heading to Venice and want to feel like you’re living in a painting these hosts can help.

The location had a beautiful view, the beds could be improved with better mattress. Having some soap supplied would be an improvement.
