Stayed 2 nights

I put alot of planning into my 2 weeks along the Oregon Coast. Being well rested and getting an early start to my day were priorities. Putting us out day before learning there is no breakfast was disappointing. I booked based on the b& b idea. The room was not comfortable, no seating except a bench that was placed under tv..not facing tv. I was looking forward to the bed and breakfast feel.. this failed in all levels. I was never greeted upon arival or anytime since I arrived. I tried co tacti g owner night i arrived and next morning..no response.. There are beatiful places to stay in Hood River..look for them!

They advertise as Hood River’s Number one bed and breakfast on another travel site. This is NOT a bed and breakfast. Currently, just a historic home with rooms for rent. Had a printout in our room after self check in, that due to staffing shortages, breakfast no longer included. You could pay for breakfast, but you had to let them know ahead of time. We got a very modest partial refund as we had booked what we thought was a bed & breakfast. In sum, we paid $300 for one night for a room with a very dated en-suite bathroom. No coffee in the dining room in the morning, no staff, nothing you’d expect for a bed & breakfast. DO NOT recommend

Great communication and cute house. Pretty clean, but not perfect. It was more like a hostel than hotel. It was fine, but not overly impressive. I bit of a steep walk to downtown. Overall, it was fine.

This is a beautiful home with lovely gardens and rooms. We enjoyed our stay. It was an drive to the business district, breweries and down to the river. The Secret Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the attached bathroom had plenty of counter space. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The common room and porch are very pleasant, and the owners provided access to plenty of guide books for hikes, flower identification, kids activities, games, and lots of printed information to help enjoy the area. They had just transitioned away from serving a full breakfast when we stayed. Instead, they provided slices of cake and fruit for breakfast. (The addition of plain or lightly sweetened yogurts with nuts for protein might have been nice). While this was a surprise to us, there were benefits to not feeling like we needed to wait around for the breakfast that used to be served at 8 am. We enjoyed an earlier breakfast at one of their recommended places (Bette's- open at 5:30), which allowed us more time to explore our favorite hike of the trip -- the Memaloose hills wildflowers -- before the trail started to get crowded.
