The Black Bear Lodge is one of the best places to stay in Western Maryland, especially if you enjoy entertaining. It has a perfect layout with a big deck and a nice living room area. And then on the lower floor is a nice game room. There are HDTVs in every single guest room.And here is a great extra plus: the top floor master bedroom has its own bathroom and a small loft which can double as an office. If you need a little break from your guests, you can retreat up there and get some quiet time away from everyone while they are still well entertained in the rest of the house.The host is constantly making upgrades. There were quite a few we noticed from the previous year. Black Bear Lodge is well-taken care of and is designed to be perfect for entertaining family and friends.

As advertised. We had wonderful stay.

We had a great stay! The set up of things and the general cleanliness of everything were really done well. We LOVED the deck had gates all around it for younger kiddos and pups. Questions and recommendations asked of the host were responded to and helpful. It is worth noting that if you’re staying and want to use the projectors on the out door screens I would download and become familiar with the Nebula app ahead of time. Also, there are several living spaces which a great for having little groups and separate entertainment spaces, but aside from the table on deck, the outside, around the dining table there isn’t space for big big gatherings. Finally, the road you need to have the recommended AWD or 4X4 driving to do, you would need to have a pretty high vehicle to not bottom out. The road in all is the rain had pretty large and deep rain tracks. There are the spaces mentioned, but the passage way is a bit more limited in between.

The house was very clean and comfortable. There was 8 of us and we all had enough space. It was close to the Marinas and to the lake. It was a little tricky getting to the lake but overall, it was a fun time and a very nice place. There was plenty of wood for the fire pit at night and the hot tub was very spacious. The slide and swings were great. Would recommend it again. Thanks
