Travelodge by Wyndham Nanaimo

Room was spotless. Staff were friendly and very pleasant. Complimentary breakfast was great. Coffee always available. Great parking. All in all a very positive and reasonably priced stay. We will be back!!

Chambre conforme au descriptif, petit déjeuner continental ( muffins céréales yaourts fruits) . Lits confortables et serviettes de toilette hyper moelleuses. L'ascenseur ne dessert pas le 2ème étage mais que le 3ème.

Everything was great, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that there is no elevator. So if you can’t manage stairs request a first floor.

Limited parking

Hotel was run down and nothing like the photos advertised. Hallways were hot with plug in fans running and smelled like old cigarette smoke. Ice machine was out of order as well as the sauna. I would not expect either to be up and running again any time soon. I found pistachio shells under my bed and my room smelled very musty. Breakfast included fruit, muffing and oatmeal along with some juices.

Elevator needs to be replaced. Waited 10 minutes before it came back up.

In the website they claim they have sauna. But disappointed that it's not offered. They should remove the that amenities don't exist.

Staff were friendly. Parking is not great. Room was nice, but the rest of hotel is outdated.

What we liked: comfortable bed, clean room; the hotel is located close to the ferry terminal, and many restaurants and stores are close by. What we didn't like: The hotel advertises having a sauna room but we were told it has been closed since 2020. A bit disappointing!

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Public transportation was within a short walking distance. Beds were very comfortable , coin operated guest laundry is available. We would definitely stay here again.

Dirty. Smells of sewage in the building and room. Stains on the curtains. Liquid squirt on the picture above the bed. Hair in the coffee machine. No kettle. No bottled water. Carpet old and dirty. I would not recommend this place.

staff was great. Room was clean but there were some weird smell all over.

Very dirty and rough shape , carpet in my room was left dirty and not vacuumed, will not be staying there again.

My wife found bugs crawling on the beds. Desk staff was helpful and secured us a nicer room for no charge but still not a pleasant experience.

The carpet was sticky in 4 or 5 spots that we decided to wear shoes in that room because my kids feet were sticking to it and when wearing sandals my sandals stuck to it too .. bath tub had red bacteria on it

Property smells like animals take regular dumps in hallways. Stay away unless you are really short on money and need a place to crash.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly.

A very tired property in a location convenient to the ferry terminal. Grubby lobby and hallway areas. Guestroom also showing its age but clean and serviceable. Pleasant and helpful staff. Weird breakfast offerings. Ownership needs to invest in a major and years overdue reno.

Heater didn’t seem to shut off. Bad sleep

The room looked clean, spacious enough and had comfortable beds. Noises from room above or next door…loud showers…hear water running as though it was in our bathroom. We’ll see how the night goes… Otherwise no complaints. Staff friendly..

I was quite impressed with this hotel. Fridge and microwave in the room, comfy bed, free parking, good WiFi. Location is right on the harbour, easy walk to Maffeo park for the boat to Newcastle Island, heater/air con in the room. The breakfast isn't quite 'continental', just muffins, fruit and yoghurt. No toast or pastries etc, but it'll do the trick if you're not fussed. I was perfectly fine with it. Would recommend

Rooms are much nicer than the common area. Great beds and bedding. Area is nothing special. Good value altogether

Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful with quick check-in/out. The queen bed suite I got was on the second floor and facing the back street, so it's likely quieter than the suites facing the major streets. Though for an old building, the interior sound insulation pleasantly surprised me. I could barely hear other guests on a fully booked night. The suite was clean overall. Everything is a little outdated but a nice 43" LG smart TV more than made up for me. Bed was comfortable. I really loved the pillows that treated my bad neck well! Air con was working and keeping the room at the temperature I like. Having a microwave in the suite was great to have for leftover food during the trip. Bathtub and sink seemed renovated recently but the floor looked old and has a few damaged spots. Not a big deal as I was still able to have a few much needed hot showers on the rainy and windy days during my stay. Breakfast was underwhelming, but I enjoyed the fresh fruits, yogurt, and hot coffee. It's a budget hotel, so the fact that they provide complimentary breakfast made the hotel above and beyond at the price point. Overall, it was a great stay for me. I'll definitely return for my future trips if I'd like to stay close to Downtown Nanaimo.

Convenient location just 1 km from Nanaimo downtown; affordable price, free parking. The air conditioner in our room did not work. Staff twice checked our AC power supply, but no staff knew how to reset the fuse/breaker. They supplied a fan, which was OK but still too warm to sleep. Staff offered us another guest room but the hotel was full and no rooms available.

I stayed at this hotel recently and overall it was a decent experience. One of the highlights was the convenient parking, which made arriving and leaving very easy. However, the room itself was a bit noisy. It didn’t seem to be very soundproof, so I could hear footsteps from the room above and even the sound of water when the neighboring room was using the shower. If you’re a light sleeper, this might be an issue. Otherwise, it’s a good place with easy parking.

It was really dated and falling apart. Clean rooms comfy bed. Just old, falling apart and dated.

My wife had come with a broken ankle and the staff were amazing in helping us. Everyone was great!

The front desk staff was amazing and really set the stage for our first time on the island.

Room 114 was good. Bed and pillows very comfy. Coffee pot was dirty and when I rinsed it had a dark old coffee colour come out of it meaning it hasn’t been cleaned, but a nice staff member cleaned it instantly for me and she was very nice! All staff were amazing Breakfast was disappointing, hard boiled eggs were old tasting, but at least there was food Always having coffee and tea was a plus!

I had a very good syltay the travel lodge in Nanaimo. The staff was very kind, and the bed was super comfortable. Second the room was very clean and I was supplied with all the necessities. Furthermore, they were able to provide me with a late plate for the continental breakfast because I slept in on Game Day, and the next day they stayed open late so I could get a good breakfast in me after a wild night. Thank you for very high quality service.

Everything was fine except two: 1. They have no washroom in the Common area and the staff at reception was rude when requested for an emergency use for an older relative, while collecting the bags (kept after checkout) 2. No toast for breakfast (only sweet muffins!) making it difficult for those who have diabetes.

The staff were really great! The room was very clean and much nicer than we ever expected. The water was hot and towels were clean and soft. Bed wasvery comfy. We really enjoyed our stay. The building is older but despite that the staff do an excellent job of making sure it is clean and comfortable for the guests. The area isn't pretty but it's only 15min walk into the Nanaimo core. Very convenient. Also was a 30min walk from the ferries so very convenient for us as we didnt bring a vehicle this time. Would definitely book here again. Thank you!!

Good location close to the waterfront

Great value for money and the location is amazingly close to the Ferry Terminal

We had a good stay here- staff were very friendly. Continental breakfast was appreciated. The surrounding area feels a bit rough and the hotel is quite dated. Pros of the room was that it was spacious, comfortable beds, and clean. Cons is that perhaps someone was smoking in a room connected to ours because everytime we turned on the fan in our bathroom it was overwhelming smell of smoke. Rooms Were quiet and insulated though so I like that. Definitely a 3 star hotel but I knew that going into it!

It's a convenient location to get to most ferries out of Nan and loved the staff going the extra mile to help. Good price, quality ratio. Will book the hotel again.

The room was just average and the bed probably needs to be replaced. It was nice that it was a short walk to the water but the area has alot of homeless walking around making evening walks alittle sketchy. Internet access was great and the staff was friendly.

Good location, good value. Close to ocean front. Great walks near by. 10 min walk to down town.

If you miss the ferry it's a short drive to the terminal and and easy walk to the waterfront and lots of food options

Clean and spacious room. Good beds. Very quiet. Complimentary breakfast if very handy. Would have loved more options, such as cereal and some protein.

TravelLodge Nanaimo Property is good. Breakfast need to be improved and add bread butter options.

The staff were nice. The room is good size bed was comfortable not very soundproof. The continental breakfast is only muffins, porridge, banana, apples, and yoghurt so if you’re looking for something bigger for breakfast, this is not it.

Location was good. Close to highway and ferry. Continental breakfast was very limited but satisfied.

The continental breakfast was way too basic and nothing much to it. No toast, bagels, cereal, pancakes or anything. There were peanut butter and jam but that’s not something you put on muffins. It was a super plain and basically the cheaper price than most hotels in the area. Hotel needs a bit of an updated with the hallways but the rooms are nice.

We liked the location, staff, cleanliness. Breakfast was healthy and had the best muffins I’ve ever eaten. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our stay at this hotel was okay. The main reason I picked this property was for the free breakfast but this was a disappointment, they served muffins, apples, bananas, yogurt, and oatmeal. The bed was collapsed on one side and the room was mostly clean, it looked like they could have done a better job vacuuming and I found a 3" screw behind the bedside table. The location isn't the best, If your travailing south on Terminal Ave you'll have to find someplace to turn around or enter by Stewart Ave. There is lots of parking available and the staff where all friendly.

No kitchen, therefore a cold breakfast. Nothing hot except so-so coffee. Couldn't even have toast. No idea why they had jams and peanut butter out?? Our room was adequate, clean but noisy.

We had a nice stay here. The breakfast snacks & coffee were good with a very nice hard working staff making sure everyone was accommodated. We've stayed here many times before and will be back when needing to stay in Nanaimo again.
