We had a wonderful stay - from the staff on reception to the leisure club. We used the pool and the games room which kept the kids entertained! Our room was big and spacious, each child had their own single bed, along with the large super king bed! The room was clean and modern with everything we needed, including a few welcome snacks! We thought the bar and restaurant area were lovely, and enjoyed a cooked breakfast where there was plenty to choose from! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

A great hotel, very comfortable as a family of 4. Huge super king sized bed plus 2 large and sturdy single beds for children. Beds a little on hard size but still slept well. Can highly recommend breakfast especially the fresh fruit and cooked options. Worth noting the restricted pool times for children. As we visited in school holidays it wasn’t an issue for us. All staff super friendly and helpful.

We had a really good stay at this hotel, the breakfast was one of the best we've had, the best selection and very tasty. The evening meal was also beautiful, can't fault any of the food. Family room was large and huge bed, but disappointed in the lack of air conditioning and the shower quality. It was a bit disappointing hearing one of the waitresses at the breakfast entrance talk to the younger staff in a very rude manner. Bit of a chip on her shoulder as all the staff who we seen cleared the plates quickly and refreshed all the food in good time. Probably the best service I've seen at breakfast. Only other small gripe was the child's pool times, extremely restricted, so please check this if your going with children and have a busy schedule. We would certainly return to the hotel.

Excellent facilities. Swimming, Sauna, games room. All in the price without silly add ons. I'd read reveiws that the breakfast was not the best but they must have improved as it was fabulous and great value. We never usually add a breakfast as hotels usually charge extortinate prices for not a lot but this was a low price and so we paid. A great location too. A short walk to Eastwood and great grounds that I am sure will look lovely in summer.

There was hair which was not ours on the bedding and all over the carpet as this presented on the our socks. When we arrived there was no additional bed for our 2 boys. No snacks, these came later. It was evident that this room was not prepared for our check in. Such a disappointment and to add to this my husband had something land on his head whilst opening our room door( cover for the spring mechanism to every door) slipped whilst getting into the hot tub. The hotel needs some TLC.

The bathroom was really dirty, the shower particularly, the carpet throughout had holes in it and thw bed was very hard and uncomfortable. There was several cobwebs and apiders. Food was slow and not the best quality for the price. The staff was ride and didnt seem to really want to help/serve guests.

A few years ago I decided never to stay here again because it's such a big hotel, used by large groups for events. I've had several poor nights sleep here. Last week I thought I'd try again but same experience- a terrible night's sleep - I arrived late and went to my room and went to bed at about 11 pm, but I was woken up FIVE times by groups of people walking past the door, talking loudly on their way to bed and letting their room doors slam when they went in. It's absolutely the worst hotel I stay in for this. Probably fine for heavy drinkers or late-to-beds.

My partner and I had a lovely stay. The room was spacious and tidy and the facilities were great. The only issue we had was the shower leaking all over the bathroom floor. This happened twice and it made using the bathroom a bit uncomfortable and frustrating. Other than that it was a great stay.

The Rooms are a little bare, could do with a set of drawers for furniture, no fridge, no bottled water, we had to ask for tea bags. House keeping means they make the bed.But, No cleaning or reset of room happens so bring some wipes.

Well kept grounds to walk in. Friendly staff. The rooms are not sound proofed enough as my final night there people were talking in normal voice but they continued on until after three a.m. Worst porridge I have ever tasted but apart from that everything fine. Oooh other than one can't pay for the meal in cash in the restaraunt. THAT needs rectifying.

Lovely hotel. Went for a superior room. No air con which was disapointing. Room had a table with two chairs no dedicated desk. On the table was a selections of drinks and beverages i could conusme (obviously at a cost).. which meant before i could get the laptop out and do some work i had to clear all the crap off the desk. No electric car charging facilities.

Room was clean and quiet. Check in was okay but when I tried to call to ask for more pillows there was no answer. I tried 4 times. That was disappointing. Breakfast was a bit chaotic with long queues. One end has drinks and the other end had food. Queues were long so you either got cold coffee or cold breakfast. It could have been better organised.

It wasn’t the best stay. The room was set up for 3 people when we had booked for 4, but it was quickly rectified. Although the next morning it took 2 phone calls to reception and 60 minutes to get a 4th towel. Noise travelled a bit too well-from the people playing midnight football outside our room to the person snoring in the next room. We were hot (often the case in hotels) and so we took the duvets out of the covers to use the covers as sheets, which worked well but revealed a number of stains on the duvets. The shower had been dripping all night and then in the morning the control was so stiff that we couldn’t turn it on, so all four of us had a bath. However the water was tepid. At breakfast, allergen information was available, but only in the foyer and not the restaurant. It was a 42 page PDF list of food and allergens, nothing searchable. It took 15 minutes to read. The other issue was that it didn’t match the food available and didn’t include drinks.

I always say that when I am going for a short visit to meet family & friends over Christmas, I only need a hotel to provide me with a nice clean, comfortable room, a good sleep, a hot shower & a good breakfast to set me up for the day. Eastwood Hall provided all of these in abundance! Everything from parking up to finding reception, signing in and getting about was spot on. The staff were all friendly, helpful and polite & what else can I say! It went beyond what I expect for my stay so thankyou Eastwood Hall 🙏 Definitely worth the 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

After a very chaotic Saturday night with other people staying in the hotel partying until 4am . The management were very helpful in dealing with this issue and provided me and my partner with a free evening meal as an apology the following night . Staff were friendly and the food was beautiful. Would definitely stay again

The bathroom was really dirty, the shower particularly, the carpet throughout had holes in it and thw bed was very hard and uncomfortable. There was several cobwebs and apiders. Food was slow and not the best quality for the price. The staff was ride and didnt seem to really want to help/serve guests.

I stay here regularly for work trips and it is always a pleasure. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is always spacious and clean and the food is spot on! I also love being able to use the leisure facilities and make the time to go for a swim. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing and there is always plenty of car parking available too. I always recommend Eastwood Hall to my colleagues when we travel to Ilkeston for meetings and training.

This hotel has the possibility to be excellent. The facilities are great. Unfortunately the food is poor, (I am still waiting for the vegetarian sausages I requested at breakfast!) and my main course at dinner never arrived either. Meals with breakfast charged at £16.95 and dinner at £39.00 are overpriced and underwhelming. The service is stretched too. I was there for a business event and had no choice but to stay at this hotel.

My only criticism is that the promotional material for this hotel depicts it as an historic house of character. The reality is that the vast majority of guests are housed in a sprawling extension of seemingly endless corridors, and somewhat soulless rooms, leading to a slight dissappointment on arrival. It would also be nice if guest rooms could be given more outdoor access, eg patios or balconies, or more outdoor seating areas, given the extensive outdoor area surrounding the hotel. Overall, however, a very comfortable hotel set in beautiful grounds and, on the plus side, easy to achieve 10,000 steps a day staying there!

Very large complex with plenty if amenities one fault dining the fries were luke warm with the burger morning breakfast couldnt fault as plenty of choice on a self serve experience will use the hotel again when in the area

Lovely room ,hard mattress which I liked but my wife didn't. Dog friendly. The breakfast choice was just right ,full English or cereals and fruit etc. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds but due to the amount of rain recently the ground was a bit swamped.

Excellent facilities. Swimming, Sauna, games room. All in the price without silly add ons. I'd read reveiws that the breakfast was not the best but they must have improved as it was fabulous and great value. We never usually add a breakfast as hotels usually charge extortinate prices for not a lot but this was a low price and so we paid. A great location too. A short walk to Eastwood and great grounds that I am sure will look lovely in summer.

We booked this hotel because it is advertised with a photograph of a beautiful house we did not realise that we would drive past the house to a sprawling modern building where we would walk through the large main rooms down two long corridors to our very nice room. The staff are very nice and breakfast was good.

Our first impressions were positive—an impressive old hall nestled in the peaceful English countryside near Eastwood. The setting is charming and tranquil. We chose the prepaid buffet breakfast option for our four-night stay, which we later regretted. I follow a gluten-free diet, so a traditional cooked English breakfast is usually a safe and satisfying choice. Unfortunately, regardless of what time we arrived, the food was consistently overcooked and greasy. The fried eggs were particularly unpleasant—hard, wrinkled, and swimming in oil. Had a lovely stay rooms were big and clean, the hotel staff were all lovely, facilities were good. Only problem was the restaurant, we went half board and the food was sooo slow, the mains took over an hour to come out and on the second night our burger was cremated and dry and the and chips were bland. The pork belly and ox cheek on the first night were worth the wait though. So a mixed review, we would visit again but just get a takeaway delivered to the hotel probably.

Lovely clean room. Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We ate sinner at the hotel and breakfast too. The evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was self service and there was plenty of choice.

We had a wonderful stay (2 adults and 2 children under 5) the hotel is really clean with great facilities. The food was lovely and staff very helpful and friendly! We couldn’t fault it!

I always say that when I am going for a short visit to meet family & friends over Christmas, I only need a hotel to provide me with a nice clean, comfortable room, a good sleep, a hot shower & a good breakfast to set me up for the day. Eastwood Hall provided all of these in abundance! Everything from parking up to finding reception, signing in and getting about was spot on. The staff were all friendly, helpful and polite & what else can I say! It went beyond what I expect for my stay so thankyou Eastwood Hall 🙏 Definitely worth the 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

After a very chaotic Saturday night with other people staying in the hotel partying until 4am . The management were very helpful in dealing with this issue and provided me and my partner with a free evening meal as an apology the following night . Staff were friendly and the food was beautiful. Would definitely stay again

Check in was great and staff member cheerful and helpful. Room was lovely and accomadated our requests. Had evening meal which took over 40mins to arrive and the homemade pizza was raw around crust. Used pool which was lovely and can see the gym etc used by others. Suggest costume dryer in changing rooms. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of variation, although did have to ask for a couple of things to be replenished. We did have issue with the room, which to be fair has been addressed by Eastwood after an email complaint. In the evening ,we were unable to get the shower working correctly and could barely get any hot water. The toilet would also not flush. We spoke to reception first thing(8am) on our way for a swim, expecting that by the time we had finished/ had breakfast, the matter would be resolved. We were told maintance started at 8 am and would be informed.However it wasnt. Leaving us having to walk down to reception area to use the toilets. We have stayed here previously and always had lovely meals and helpful staff in a nice environment, so we were a little disappointed on this occasion. We will return and are hoping that this was a one off. We would recommend this hotel as you feel "away from it all" but have access to Nottingham etc and makes a good base.

The rooms are clean and spacious. However it is a function hotel and the bar gets very noisy from the function rooms adjacent. When we were there it was impossible to enjoy a quiet drink at the bar because of noise from the disco. Fortunately this didnt affect the bedrooms which were quiet.
