Lovers Point Inn

The property was okay. It’s definitely more of a motel than a hotel so don’t expect anything super fancy. Their parking situation is okay but a bit weird. Only one way in and out of the garage so there could be an accident any day if you’re not careful.

Clean and comfortable, especially the beds. No view but nice location. Walked to dinner across the street at the very nice Beach House. Happy they had an elevator. However, basement garage very sketchy. One car, one way but exit was blocked so you had to turn around. Narrow entry and exit. Water pooled in places.

Great views if you get a room on the 3rd floor. Limited parking. Basement parking very difficult. Limited dining in immediate area for families. Rooms very hot w/no swamp or AC. Heater always on. Had to have door, windows, ceiling fan open/on a lot.

Within walking distance of everything. Elevator didn't work right, kept taking me to the wrong floor, even took me to the 4th floor which is completely under renovation. Ended up using stairs the whole 3 days we were there.

They are renovating/updating. But this is a fabulous location, very friendly/accomodating staff. Free off street parking! We would stay here again!

This property does what it needs to. A convenient stop for the night. The room was fairly spacious for 3 adults and 1 teenager. We appreciated the microwave too. There was enough parking. It is an older property, although pretty well maintained. There is no air conditioning and although you can keep the windows open, to enjoy the cool sea air, it can be noisy.

Basic room for almost 400$ a night. Hospitable staff. Room 201 is way too loud and bright, maybe some double pane window and black out curtain would be nice. Nice location, 20m walk to aquarium and 25m to our favorite restaurant, the Sardine factory. There are EV chargers on site, but not enforced by the staff so non-EV cars park there the majority of the time we were there, kind of defeats their purpose. Learned out lesson and will try booking room earlier next time so we don’t have to be stuck with this as our only option.

Lovers point is in nice location in Pacific Grove. near bike path and beach across street. Walking up hill for a few blocks to get to downtown Pacific Grove. NearPacific Grove golf course. Hotel is old and ugly exterior. Rooms inside were nice. Younger staff allow partying and smoking marijuana on premise. Like a lot of hotels they do not clean rooms or even offer you extra towels with multiple night visits. Free parking underground but difficult to maneuver. Lot of bed and breakfast places in the area that would be better for couples.

Perfect and more affordable location, right in front of the beach. Plenty of restaurants and places to go within walking range. Although, parking is not guaranteed. The parking garage is very narrow and on an extremely sharp hill. Our car scraped the bottom going up and down.

Was great except for the parking garage. Extremely difficult to exit with the one way parking needing to turn around in the garage to get out..

Unfortunately, for the price of almost $400/night, all that was good about this place was the location. The building is falling apart and the elevator broke while we were there. (It's an outside elevator). There is a run down fountain in front. And no umbrellas out front like in the photo. The free parking is in the basement. It only has one entrance (the exit is blocked) so you have to either turn around in a very narrow space or back out up a marked incline to exit. When we walked into our room, the carpet was wet. There is no air conditioning in our room but we they had 2 plug in fans to use. There was one usable outlet for the room which is difficult if you want to plug in anything. It did have a plug adapter but it was used up by the coffee maker and flans. The bathroom floor tiles were cracked and had duct tape covering the floor. The bathroom was as wide as the toilet and the shower that were adjacent to each other. After the first night, we woke up to ants all over our only counter/sink in the room. When we returned after our first day excursion, only one of the two beds in our room was made. The beds were firm- I didn't like that but my friend did. The location was great as you walk across the street to the beach and the kids loved it. The restaurant across the street was nice too- we had dinner there. I would never stay at this place again.

Great experience - they let us check in an hour early, we could park in their lot far before our visit, and the experience was wonderful. You don't get a better location! And the room was clean and quiet. Would highly recommend!!

Great location to Downtown Pacific Grove and Cannery Row. Room clean but dated. Loud plumbing and long running toilet after flushing. Old carpet needs replacing or a good shampoo!

Great location, but my room was crawling with black ants. Not a great morning waking up to these little freeloaders.

We had a gorgeous view but the hotel is in poor condition. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and it was really warm even with the window wide open as we slept. The only climate control was a ceiling fan and a plug in oscillating fan, this still just circulated warm air. Lastly the beds are advertised as two queens but they were for sure fulls. With that said we were close to plenty of amenities and had a great time. Still the warm room and cigarette smell almost made us try to find a different hotel but we had just switched from an overwhelming odor at the Olympia Lodge. The price and view were right so we stuck it out. They need to rip out the old carpet.

This property is not even close to as advertised. It is old, dirty, loud and run down. Only good thing is close to ocean.

Sheets towels are dirty

Filthy. Don't trust google reviews. Read the yelp reviews. They are morw accurate. Carpet was very dirty and smelly, like mold or mildew. We did not use the shower because it was dirty and the towels were on top of a very rusty rack. If you have to stay at this inn, bring your own blanket, pillow, shower shoes, and toilet paper. Ive never seen toilet paper like the ones at this place.

Room was not clean, found hair in the shower. Parking in the garage was not lit, didn't feel it was secure... Noisy neighbors until 3am.. walls are super thin... Heard street noise all night. Would not stay there again... Only good thing was the restaurant across the street.

It's like any other motel,except 3rd floor can see ocean.

Great place to stay, however the cable was fake, it was antenna TV that had 2 generic cable channels. They advertise cable TV, not good business ! Its not a problem for most since I used my iPad and iPhone with there Wi-Fi ! Over all a thumbs up ! 👍

The room itself was fine but the hotel attracts a lot of trashy people. Very noisy all hours of the day. Impossible to fall asleep. Just lots of shouting and banging/stomping.

The location was beautiful but the room was cramped, hot, and out of date. Made it hard to sleep in! I felt like the rooms were more spacious online. Also the curtains block no/little outside lighting so can keep you awake. Would definitely visit the beach again but not stay here.

Everything was great accept our room didn’t have AC. Good thing its not too hot at the moment. There were 2 fans in the room however and a wall heater.

Small and dated, but that's a perfectly reasonable tradeoff for the location and price. Check in process was fine. Room was clean, though the paint/trim/fixture work & and upkeep was really poor. The main problem was the noise. Paper thin walls meant that every footstep in the room above, every conversation outside sound like they're in the room with you. I'm not a particularly light sleeper, but I struggled to get 4-5hrs/night.

First, I have to say that the location was beautiful!!! We have stayed here before. However the room was in very bad shape although it was clean. The heater did not work and we had to get a small portable from the office. Then, we were using the microwave and the power went out for the tv, fridge, and there was no other place to plug in the heater. The tv was fuzzy and had poor quality. I did receive a 10% discount for the inconvenience. If you are only concerned with location then this hotel is great. If you want more comfort from your room then I recommend another hotel.

Creaky bed, old furnishings and structure. Owner doesn’t invest in the simple upkeep.

I called to request an early check in. Person answering the phone was rude and told me they don’t allow that. Seemed very odd. Barely average hotel at best. Not clean or unkept. Won’t stay here again.

The staffs were really helpful and the rooms were nice and peaceful.

Great location, across the street from Lover's Point Beach. Very walkable to local attractions and restaurant options. Our family is from here so various members have stayed at this motel throughout the years. It says "Under new management" so hopefully my following comments will be taken to heart & they will send their staff to management courses focused on professionalism, problem solving, & how to speak to customers. When we arrived at 3pm for check-in, we saw a sign that said "Check-in is 4pm early check-in is at earliest 3pm". Nobody was in the office. We waited, called out & called on the phone...nothing, nobody. We walked around the block, came back, finally a yound disheveled man came in and said "A maid called out, we are behind, I don't know when your room will be ready!" Okay...no time estimate, nothing helpful or apologetic...so we walked some more! Luckily Pacific Grove is beautiful. We return after 4pm and this guy is driving away. A new young tattooed kid is at the front desk. We inquire about our room. The response was so rude and snarky, we were literally taken a back! Straight quotes "I already told you I don't know when your room will be ready & you keep asking me the same questions!" And "Look Buddy why don't you just give me your number and I'll call you when it's ready" We walked to go get dinner & returned with friends. They were shocked at the rudeness when we walked back into the office. Will never return here! There are other options!

We had a wonderful time and the staff was fantastic. They took care of my elderly mom very well. Thank you.

Receptionist at the front desk was nice and kind. Also the cleaning department was nice as well. I loved that we we were right in front of the beach. Overall accessible to different parts of the city.

Checked in , got the room and it was terrible and than we left for a few hours, can back and they gave our room to someone else and all of our stuff was in the room , the guest opened our room, and they where honest and did not take our stuff , went back and said to the office that room is taken , we got new keys and than our tv did not work and they tried to fix it but did not , I recommend not staying there , it was a terrible experience, the under ground parking was terrible ,

While the hotel itself is nice the staff and service was horrible. When booking it says pay at hotel yet was charged prior to arrival. Was charged three times for the same room. One charge was reversed but I am still fighting to get the 3rd refunded. When calling the hotel I was first told they would refund and now they say they don’t see the 3rd charge. Well my bank account sure does. Charged over $1200 when it was only $300! Not what I was expecting for my sisters memorial weekend. Will never stay here again!

I Loved room 301 it provided an awesome view of the Ocean as well as privacy. Most of All I Love the staff the front desk people are awesome go above and beyond for thier customers!

Hard to get parking, staffed ended giving up the room I booked to another person by accident due not checking last names.

I had a fantastic stay at Lovers Point Inn. The location is perfect, just steps from the beautiful Lovers Point Park and Beach. The room was clean, comfortable, and offered a stunning ocean view. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. Proximity to local attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium was a great bonus. Highly recommend for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

Check in and check out easy. Parking was tight and limited. Staff was friendly and attentive. Convenient location to beach and food.

The motel is old but kept clean. The view from our room of the bay was quite nice. The room was large but the bathroom tiny. The water pressure from the shower was good but the faucet in the sink just dribbled. There's not a lot of restaurants nearby, but there's a nice one across the street.

We loved the location next to the water and the underground parking, with a restaurant right across the street.

Excellent service by all staff. Very clean, well maintained. I greatly enjoyed the atmosphere and so close to a park, and ocean which has a small beach. It’s very beautiful. There were a few people swimming and surfing as well. The water is clear and peaceful. There are a few restaurants and coffee shops right across the street and in front of the beach/ocean. The beds were very comfortable. I suffer from back pain and I didn’t have any back pain all 3 nights I stayed. The rooms are very clean, well maintained and include great on site care including small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at Lovers Point Inn. Yes, the building is on the older side, but our room was remodeled and very clean. We had a balcony which was so nice to hear the ocean at night. Across the street is a walking path right on the ocean, there's a restaurant and brewery too. The main street is a couple blocks away and Monterey is 5 min drive away. Pacific Grove is just utterly beautiful and this hotel was a perfect introduction to seeing all that this place has to offer. I think the only qualm was that you can hear other people in the rooms, like the t.v., but it did not particularly bother us as we had the room right above the check-in office, so I think we got lucky. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

I kept asking God, "Could this get any better?!" and then it would! Beautiful location that feels safe, lovely views (I had the 3rd floor balcony room)...I enjoyed the cucumber-melon hand soap and the complementary make-up wipes. My room had a table & chairs in the bedroom and another set on the balcony. It's a 1-minute walk from one of the most beautiful sunset views in the country (watch for the sea otters!). Several restaurants and bakeries are within a 10-minute walk from the Inn. The bed was comfortable. Only complaint was that the heater woke me up every time it cut on/off...and the trash truck came about 5 different times in the morning (beep! beep! beep!).

Check in was easy and super friendly. Accommodations are nothing fancy, but the location was prime! Right across the street from a great restaurant, and just a few steps out to the cliffs and beaches.

Although the motel was older, it was me and clean. Staff on site were helpful kind and very courteous. The park across the street is beautiful as it looks out over the ocean providing beautiful sunrises. There are two cafés one right across the street and one across the parking lot that offer a variety of foods however they do not open till later in the morning.

Nice Location, our room was clean. Wish they had a continental breakfast like they used to. Rooms are being updated. The park and beach across the street is a nice area to spent the day. It’s nice that you can walk up 3 blocks and you’re in downtown Pacific Grove. Many restaurants and a nice coffee shop!
