Courtyard by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo

The pool isn’t heated. It was so cold that my daughter and I couldn’t use it. That was a big disappointment. The parking is a bit odd as well. Other than that, the staff were extremely nice and the room was pretty good.

Courtyard by Marriott Nice checkin, friendly agent but… Algae on pool steps No drinking water at pool Ice machines both broken Sign says Ice and Vending machines but no vending machines (and no ice). Water stain on lampshade by the bed. No lunch Woman at front desk today is not nice 8/17/24 No security guards visible ever Man at pool screaming obscenities at me, calling me the foulest names and talking about killing people in Vietnam and guns and I told the manager, who did nothing! The next day he said he “couldn’t find him” even though he said he knew who he was when I described him. Evidently he is a long stay customer who is good money for them. No mention of the kids soccer team that took over the hotel on Saturday. They were just kids so were noisy and took over the entire hotel, running up and down the hallways, knocking on doors etc. The man with the crazy rant was at the bar Sunday night and I was afraid. I didn’t talk to him. He did not act out, while my family, who were all charged differently for the same rooms, ate dinner with no one else in the restaurant or bar. We checked out the next morning and my Uber was early so I was rushing to leave and asked the front desk agent to check me out and charge to the cc on file. The bill then was $89, as my breakfast had not been added yet. That charge generated a spam email saying I was charged $899. I called the hotel before I found out it was spam. She said the salesperson was at the neighbor hotel, she did not.

It was exactly what we needed after a trip to Yosemite. Basic amenities. Pool and hot tub were a plus.

Clean and safe. Nice rooms and pool. Restaurant had good food.

very run down, paint was peeling in our room. Lobby and room furniture stained and dirty. Room smelled like smoke. Wont be back.

Friendly staff and relaxing bed. However, when checking in the room was very unclean. Hair on the soap dispenser in the shower was found, room smelled musty. I had my clorox wipes to clean more. The staff offered another room; however the staff had the housekeeper to reclean the room. The phone in the room worked poorly. I did enjoy the dinner; but few amenities to impress. Not a bad place to stay due to the kind staff members at the front desk; moreover the uncleanliness of the room was a big negative!

Nice clean rooms

The hotel has always been great. This trip was different. The elevators were not working and we were on the 3rd floor. We were stuck in the elevator for a good 5 minutes before it opened we did not know it wasn't working there were no signs. The iron in our room was broken it was on high no matter what the temp i set it at. I burned my husbands shirt. We had black ants all over the restroom on the toilet, counters (I have pictures and video) we had to move room right in the middle of our stay due to elevator problems which meant moving our luggage 3 flights down. After telling the front counter their answer was "you are one of 50 complaints nothing i can do".

This hotel is very convenient to the freeway and yet quiet enough that you wouldnt know. The rooms are large and have a small area with a fridge, coffee, etc. I am a repeat customer and will continue to be so. The staff are friendly. The room i had was a bit tired looking this time and not 100% clean, and the bed did not have much support. But other than that, it was a decent stay.

Clean room

The staff that checked me in was very curt. That was fine as she was likely at the end of her shift. Upon getting into the room I was met with a huge cockroach in the sink. It was late, we were tired so my husband just killed it. In the morning we used the coffee machine but coffee went everywhere. It turns out that the coffee cup was broken. The shower had a long black hair in it which was unpleasant. The bed was not as good as other Marriott hotels. Perhaps it’s just this brand. 😕

The room that I was in had a bunch of little bugs in the bathroom was out of conditioner had a dirty towel in the pile of clean one

I enjoyed the spacious and clean rooms. I would've liked to have a microwave. The AC in my room had a very loud rattling sound going on.

The room made me feel like i was at an expensive resort hotel. Everything was wonderful.

The hotel is fine but like a lot of Courtyards is in need of a retro.

Right next to a highway so it was pretty noisy but the do have white noise machines to help. It’s close to Cal Expo or the mall, but a little out of the way from the airport or I-5.

Room were clean and tidy. However, mine has a cracked sink, slow drain in the bathtub and TV doesn't work. A microwave would of been nice so I can warm up my leftovers.

Very nice suite. The only thing that was lacking was good water pressure for the shower.

wifi did not work. i screwed with it for 20 mins, got fed up and had to hotspot my phone. the GD wifi requested a BS member account login. this is false advertising. the refrigerator is absurdly small. could not even store my dinner leftovers in it. the bed is too soft. bad for back pain.

Good location, close to freeway. Clean rooms and friendly employees. The room was very spacious. Air was very loud though. Lots of parking space, which was very convenient.

The issue I had with my stay was noise. The air conditioner/heater was super loud. There was a lot of noise from nearby traffic. As there were complimentary ear plugs waiting in my room, I’m guessing this has been a complaint by prior guest.

I was impressed by how helpful and friendly the overall staff at the hotel were. They made us feel right at home. It really made our stay in Sacramento a lot more fun and enjoyable. I personally am looking forward to going back for a return visit.

I want to start by giving a big shout-out to Ryan! I had a great check-in experience and truly enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard Cal Expo. The staff was welcoming, the accommodations were comfortable, and the location was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on my next visit.

Everyone but Ryan was rude and unhelpful at hotel. If not for him, the hotel would receive 0 stars. It’s honestly tacky and distasteful when a place that’s supposed to feel like a home away from home, feels like a chore rather than relaxing experience.

Had a bad experience with the older man the works nights. Was disrespectful to me and my friends, talked down to us. Lady in the morning was wonderful and nice!

We’ve been coming to this hotel for several years now and it seems to be deteriorating. The staff has been greatly cut, lots of things are broken or “out of order”, When we arrived there was no one in sight to check us in and after 10 minutes of waiting the manager appeared. One elevator was out of order just as it was the last time we were here a year ago. We asked for a room close to an exterior door so we could park our car right next to the building to make it easier to load and unload our luggage as we are in our 80’s. But then we couldn’t get INTO the building thru that door because it wouldn’t recognize our (or anyone else’s) room key. When I told the front desk they said they’d been having trouble with it operating correctly and said he thought there had been a sign posted outside to let people know it might not work from time to time. There was no sign there and one was not put up the following day. The solution to any problem reported was “would you like to change rooms?” And no after unpacking, I’m not going to repack, move to a different room, then unpack again. Once I simply asked for new batteries for the tv remote and was told they had none so we could change rooms 😳

Check in was awesome. Debe was so personable and welcoming. The lobby area is beautiful and spacious. The room was excellent. Clean and looks new. Lots of outlets which at some hotels is not the case. Refrigerator worked well. We stopped by the bar after our return to hotel and found the bartender who has worked there 20 years to be so personable. Hotel was quiet. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Sacramento.

The desk attendant was accommodating, even running out and trying to stop me from going the wrong way. As it turned out, I could park feet from my room. I lived in Sacramento and would never have described it as quiet. Yet the hotel and its surroundings were just that. I got a great night's sleep and was well-rested for the rest of my journey.

Close to a lot of stuff but safely tucked away. We have stayed here 3 times.

The hotel is perfectly and centrally located to sites, shopping, the mall, restaurants and freeway. If you have a Costco membership, gas and pizza is right around the corner. Service was excellent. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms and facility is clean. No microwave in the room, but there's one in the lobby along with Starbucks and a restaurant. If you have family at Cal State Sac, this hotel is just 15mins by car. Enjoyed my stay, would stay again and would definitely recommend.

Marriott Courtyard has become our favorite Sacramento stay, its just a great place for family and they're close to Cal Expo.

A great easy option close to freeways - not flashy or fancy but a clean and comfortable stay.

Property WiFi failed on day of check out. Also, the hotel restaurant doesn’t offer mid day options. Most Courtyards offer a comp breakfast and this one did not.

Starbucks food selection was perfect for breakfast and lunch … the bed was comfortable and clean.. towels were thick and abundant

The room was always clean. Front desk staff was very friendly. There was no free breakfast as advertised. At the cafe, i was told they were not taking orders yet, but yet someone walked up in front of me and she took their order. I dont know why. Could have been any number of reasons, but she still didnt take my order.

Overall, we we’re very happy with the cleanliness and service of the hotel. The one improvement opportunity would be the extremely limited breakfast options.

Check-in Tuesday evening was efficient but not particularly friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable, but the wifi did not work. We had to use our cell phone as a hotspot to get Internet. Breakfast was good, and we had excellent service from Manu. Efficient checkout. We were charged $10 for parking, which seems ridiculous. If you really need the $10 that badly, just add it to the room charge and don't have it be a separate charge. Really--does anyone arrive there without a car that they'll need to park?

Disappointed about add on breakfast, was told it would be available from 7-11. We were in a hurry due to a volleyball tournament. The person didn’t show until after 7. We ended up having to ask for a reimbursement, which they did, but delayed us getting on road. If shared that breakfast is available from 7-11 it should be available. We were late for tourney.

I hate it when they charge $10 for parking which is never disclosed upfront when you book. Also, their restaurant is horrible. They charged $20 for a glass of house chardonnay and their food was obviously microwave stuff.
