Eod Summer 2022 Lake Oswego Hotel

Upon arrival there was a few guest ahead of me. Only one person working the front desk and took a bit of longer to check in. Guest ahead of me was complaining about AC in room not working in their room. Lady at front desk said no other family rooms available and offered a few fans, he said okay. But she asked him to wait until she checked the rest of the people in that were in line because she was the only person at the front desk. People kept coming in behind me and I felt bad for the guy! As I went up stairs and came back down to get bags I seen he was still waiting! (Talking at least 45 min). Definitely understaffed.. lady at desk seemed to be friendly enough but overwhelmed! Rooms were average. No complaints. Lady cleaning the rooms seemed very nice each day when I tracked her down for clean towels. Breakfast lady seemed pretty nice too.. always had a smile on her face. Only real complaint I have is the pool and hot tub both were green! Green enough that I asked someone at the front desk if it was safe to be in it. She said they test it every day and it was fine. I asked why it was green then and if it’s always that color? Lady told me sometimes it is green and it might need a shock treatment and would leave a note for my manager expressing my concern. One of the main reasons we stayed at this hotel was for the pool (have kids). I only seen two lady’s in the hot tub the entire 3 night stay we were there. Soccer teams of kids there and no one in pool! It looked GROSS!

Everything was great except that we were looking forward to being in the pool but the spa and pool area was closed

The room was spacious, staff was professional and very kind. The Fitness center was great. The pool was the coldest I have ever been in. It was like stepping into a bucket of ice! I couldn't bear it! The hot tub was great!

Nice hotel, easy to find, close to a highway. Ample free car parking. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable, and quiet. There are a few restaurants within walking distance.

We are very pleased with this property overall. The only issue is that the spa and pool were closed for maintenance. There was nothing noted on their website and it was not mentioned to us upon check in. We were really looking forward to the spa after spending 10 hours flying here. The spa and indoor pool were one of the main reasons why I booked this hotel specifically. We were very disappointed about that.

We stayed for 2 nights. The pool and hot tub water looked to be dirty there was a film on the water and the hot tub especially smelled like mildew. The hotel is situated right off the freeway so the noise from traffic was pretty loud.

I liked that they had a room with 3 queen beds! What I didn’t like is that the pool heater wasn’t working so it was freezing and our room was extremely hot because the windows don’t open and the ac wasn’t staying on.

Check in time is 4 pm, we arrived at 7 pm and were told our room wasn’t ready. We have to wait until 8:30pm to check in. There was no communication about this ahead of time. With 2 children under 4 years old, this was a huge inconvenience. The pool was in absolutely disgusting condition, the hot tub didn’t work. The bathtub was stained and the floors in the room were so dirty out bare feet turned black. Apparently they decided that because they upgraded us to a room with 3 beds (we did not ask for this, nor did we need 3 beds), they don’t owe us any partial refund for our wasted time and the cleanliness issues.

Some cleanliness issues in the bathroom in our room when we got in. They were very nice about it and someone came and deep cleaned the next day. The pool was closed until our last night, but we finally got in so that worked out too. Staff was very nice and helpful : )

Parking lot is harder to navigate with larger vehicles. Staff is excellent, super friendly, and helpful. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. Noise from freeway was not bad

The sink, counter, and tub were dirty; the hallway was cluttered with construction debris; and there was rarely anyone at the front desk — anyone could walk in and raid the rooms. Not at all secure.

We stayed one night here. The room was spacious, however the bathtub was filthy with a bandaid stuck to the shower curtain! The walls were super thin and all night long we could hear doors slamming, kids yelling, and people above us. Pool was good size but didnt appear to be heated. Hot tub was nice and clean.Breakfast was the best part. Many choices

I booked hotel via expedia.ca and would like to leave my review as follows I traveled to Portland from July 20 to 23, staying for three nights at the Best Western in Lake Oswego, USA. The trip was relatively good, but my experience at the hotel was the worst of my life. When my wife and I returned to the hotel after our trip on the 21st, we could not believe our eyes. The housekeeping in our room had not been done at all. The bed was unmade, trash was not collected, used towels were not removed, and new towels were not provided—everything was exactly as it was when we left in the morning. I went to the reception desk to complain to the receptionist about our room. The receptionist politely apologized and said she would leave a note for the daytime staff to ensure this would not happen again. The next day, the 22nd, when we returned from our trip, everything was the same as the day before. The room was exactly as we had left it in the morning, with no housekeeping services performed. I complained to the reception desk again and demanded compensation. The receptionist kept saying "oh no" and apologized repeatedly, but did not mention anything about compensation. On the last day, when I checked out of the hotel, I left a complaint and a request for compensation on the Best Western website. However, I did not receive any apology or response regarding compensation from the company. I want to inform everyone reading this. If you are planning to stay at Best Western, think twice.

Room was clean and location is great. Lovely breakfast buffet each day! Staff were super friendly and responsive.

Some cleanliness issues in the bathroom in our room when we got in. They were very nice about it and someone came and deep cleaned the next day. The pool was closed until our last night, but we finally got in so that worked out too. Staff was very nice and helpful : )

Great stay. Room was very clean and spacious. Great value for our large family in the Family Room Enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful. The entire process only took a few minutes. Although, we could hear the vehicle noise from the highway, that wasn’t the thing keeping us up. Someone in the unit above us, had really heavy feet.

You can hear the noise from the highway all night. I was provided good service!

The property is well kept and right off of two major highways. Only complaint us that the doors are paper thin. You hear everything un the hallways.

We booked the family auite and we really liked it. It had 3 queen beds, 2 tvs, and a sofa. It was perfect fornwhat we needed.

It was very easy to reserve and check in. The staff was friendly and building and room was clean. The walls are thin, but we were only there for one night so it worked well.

The room was clean and modern, and the staff was friendly. The problem is the i5 freeway is right next door. Trucks roar by all night. If you are a sound sleeper like me, it's probably fine, but my traveling companion was kept up by the noise.

We stayed at this hotel many times when it was a Phoenix Inn and really appreciated the facilities. We didnt think the change to Best Western would be that different; however, the "upgrades" they have made make the experience very sterile and unwelcoming. The biggest issue is the change in the type of bed frame to some kind of metal structure. Every time you get in or out of the bed, there is a very loud clunk, clang sound. We changed rooms and this was true in both rooms. And, the beds are very high and difficult to get into. My wife is 5'6", and had a really hard time getting into the bed. It was easier for me at 5'11", but still very high. The good points are that The service was great and it was very clean.

Room was clean! Love the flooring way better than carpet. Hallways to the room should be upgraded also! Staff was friendly. Bed frames are metal which is great for cleanliness but one of the beds in our double queen room made a horrible sound everytime you rolled over. Load enough to wake up other member if the room.

Friendly service, clean and great breakfast!

We drove hours to get to Tigard and had two rooms reserved for months. When we got there they didn't have any rooms available for us at all and turned us away due to an "internal error" I could hear them talking about it while I was in the lobby and the "internal error" seemed to be that their cleaning folks hadn't shown up. It was a mess. We wound up staying at the Hampton Inn instead. I highly recommend that property, but won't be going to a Best Western property again any time soon.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The lady who checked me in went above and beyond for being helpful with navigating aspects of Portland and gave some great good advice. I will be back, was a great hotel.

I might have ok/good experience with Best Western before but this is the worst one I have ever stayed and I will never stay at Best Western again. Weird smell in the hallway and in my room too. I checked in around 10pm and as soon as I walked into my room and started put my soft bags down on the bench I got a call from front desk saying I was being too loud? And I will be evicted if someone complains again? I was afraid of making any sound at that night because some Karen called upon me and front desk guy just being too stone-cold.

The hotel staffing was completely screwy. I had to wait over two hours to get access to my room because no one was manning the front desk. The second night I was staying there, there was no way to get a hold of any manager or staff and people had come while I was waiting to try to check in and gave up on the hotel to go to a different one. I was locked out of my room and my card was deactivated after the first day which is why I had to go try to find a staff member in the first place. I didn't end up accessing my room until after midnight and I still wasn't able to get a new card until the next morning. I was only let in when a maintenance worker who is living at the hotel came down to ask me what was going on, and I had access to all the rooms and was finally able to let me into mine.

Despite being understaffed when I checked in, a younger gentlemen working the front desk handled a line of customers with a respectful and professionalism!

I left my portable charger, went back a couple of hours later to retrieve it and they returned it to me! Wow, what excellent service. The person at the desk said it was probably on the cleaning person’s cart and sure enough it was returned to me in a bag. They also provided ear plugs since the property is located ear the freeway. It’s the first place I have stayed in many years that has provided them for free!!

Great location and very friendly staff

I was EXHAUSTED and forgot my debit card in Newport because we had a family emergancy. I booked a room last minute for me and my kids. The General Manager, i believe his name was Hilmy, was excellent. He helped me get checked in even without my card. He also allowed us to check in early which really saved the day because the Portland heat wasnt helping with how tired we all were. The room was clean and its located spitting distance to a Jacksons for convenience. Kids and I loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was way better than expected. They even had biscuits and gravy. 100% will stay here again.

Close walk to Trader Joe's, a really good Mexican restaurant next door and some other restaurants, and a book store across the street. The staff was very nice and helpful. Love that floors were not carpeted.

Right off the freeway, east to find. Was very close to a conference I attended. The dining options are all within a 3-5 minute walk. The Thai restaurant across the street was very good!

The place had a funny smell, breakfast was limited, ran out of most things, people were loud. Place was uncomfortably hot.

We always stay at this hotel when we are in the area. It is consistently good! They have a nice breakfast in the morning that starts early, the beds are really comfortable. The pillows are great. One of the things I like the best is that the sink is outside of the bathroom.

This was an Ok stay. The breakfast area was often crowded and under stocked due to low staff.

Fake eggs. You ran out of food twice. No one around to complain to. Why lock the dining area when not in use at breakfast? It’s a good place for guests to assemble. You put staff convenience ahead of guest convenience. That’s NOT hospitality.

This hotel became a Best Western six months ago but doesn’t reflect the service standard I expect from this chain. The room was cold on arrival, the fridge was not turned on, the hot breakfast was cold, and the paper plates were hard to find. The front desk didn’t answer when I dialled about the fridge, and I found the night manager outside, chatting on his cell phone. He readily came to the room, found a knob at the back of the fridge and turned it on. The fridge never did become cold, so I assume it was well past its best before date. He said other customers had complained about the fridges, and perhaps the cleaning staff had accidentally turned them off while dusting… Impossible! The manager, Sarah, explained that the cold rooms were the result of the owners decision to be green. However, this reflects zero customer service. The cold food in the morning means either the kitchen staff isn’t performing or that better equipment is needed. Either way it was terrible. Plus, there was very little variety with the fruit… Bananas please. Sarah was very empathetic and really did her best to make amends, not charging for my pet and adding more points to my best Western account. But her hands are ultimately tied. The owner needs to focus more on service and less on saving every last nickel.

This is a great no frills hotel in a good location. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean Breakfast was good. Kimberly at the front desk was so kind and welcoming! We will be back!

Breakfast was not great. They were out of several things and the biscuits and gravy were cold. Would not recommend this breakfast.

Place was super clean in the room. Check in area undergoing renovation so, electric cords hanging out of walls. Easy parking, nice people, great breakfast, I will definitely stay here again… and the showers were nice and hot and good pressure!
