Construction on the property is going on but the staff still got us everything we needed in a reasonable time frame. Valet is always so helpful when we come into town. Walkable to river center mall,riverwalk and the Alamo.

Felt a bit catfished by the pictures of the pool. It’s way smaller in person & didn’t find a hot tub, but we didn’t ask so not too sure on that. Valet also takes at least 15 minutes to take and bring your car. Staff was very friendly.

I loved that you were 3 minutes from the Alamo, 10 minutes walk to the riverwalk. The breakfast was good but the same thing both days I stayed. I did not love that the dog area was across the street and just a patch of grass at the corner then you have to walk the droppings to another street corner. Wasn’t horrible but wasn’t as dog friendly as I expected. The elevator doors close so fast I actually got hit twice by them and bruised pretty badly so be careful during rush hours. Parking is expensive and the valet parking the hotel has takes 20 plus minutes to get your car or drop it off. I did go during a holiday so I’m not sure on other days but holiday weekends coming and going. Don’t be in a rush.

Fantastic location. Right in the middle of San Antonio very close to do many things. Parking is only available as Valet parking but from what we gathered public parking is not much cheaper and with that basket is more secure. Or would be great to have real cutlery and plates at breakfast rather than disposable ones you bin. Staff was helpful and friendly. There pool was a nice addition as well, although a bit cold but we enjoyed it. We loved the stay.

The hotel it self was okay, it's clean and convenient because of the location, you walk in and if you prepay and have no choice but to stay there, your hit with a 40 dollar valet fee, because they have no parking, your option is to find parking in the street, the 2nd problem are no ice machines, even motel6 have ice machines. They give a fridge with ice maker that makes 6 cubes a day, what a joke. It was clean and close to everything.

Overall experience 0/10. From the moment we got there the lack of communication, unpleasant, dismissive staff and valet till the end. We were turned away from valet parking because the valet person refused to take our vehicle even though there was clearly parking and another similar vehicle as ours forcing us to have to walk with a 6 year old 3 blocks down the road with alll of our luggage. The receptionist was not even at the front desk to attend, and once she got there she was rude and stated I had to wait for her to do her audit in order to check if our room was still available EVEN THOUGH WE CALLED AHEAD OF TIME. The cleanliness of that hotel was extremely questionable especially the elevator that had pee on the floor and stains on the bed sheets and sofa mattress as well. The dishes that were stored away STILL HAD FOOD ON THEM!!! The 4th floor smelt like a dog just recently had used the restroom on the carport and it was just left to linger.

Excellent location for exploring downtown. Close enough to walk everywhere but tucked away enough to be quiet. Pool was a letdown. My teenagers were looking forward to the pool and it was tiny. Not enough room for more than 2 families. Room layout was fantastic but there were very noticeable stains in the rugs and the furniture. Other than that it was very clean. Every single staff member we interacted with was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would stay again.

The room was clean, the staff was very helpful and made great suggestions on places to visit and offered an umbrella to borrow for our morning walk to the Riverwalk. Breakfast was also really good, lots of options and very well managed by the staff.

This hotel has been nicely renovated. Buyer beware, parking is extra, there is a 4, yes 4 PM check in time. Oh they will let you check in early for an additional fee. Guests are allowed to only enter and exit their actual room floor. Our friends were on a different floor, so without additional key cards from the front desk, there was no accessing different floors. The front desk clerk was nice enough to turn on the lights in the breakfast area in the evening so us and our friends could play games. There are motion sensors in the rooms, which is okay, except for the one in our bathroom could not be overridden and the lights turned off after 15 seconds when someone was in the shower. We were there only one night and other than the fees, policies and faulty light sensors, it was a nice clean comfortable stay. I will be looking at other options next time we're in town.

The beds were extremely comfortable and that deserves to be mentioned first. We loved the two bedroom suite! Having a living room to visit and recap the day before a perfect night's sleep was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was large and delicious with a great variety and service. If I visit San Antonio again, I will book here!

Was not told about parking till I arrived and they only have valet parking which is 40 a night. Extra charge for early check in, forgot tooth brush and had to go downstairs to purchase a cheap one. Seemed they were all about adding every fee they could. Breakfast was included. Not very good. Last day was very crowded and extremely slow to refill food as it ran out. Rooms are only cleaned when requested at front desk. 3 days with no offer to empty garbage cans, bring more towels, or anything related to room cleaning. Hotel seems to be all about maximum cost with minimum work. I will say staff at front desk was friendly. Not there rules. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I return to any Royal Sonesta hotels.

The room was spacious and very modern looking! We got the view in the side of the highway which was nice. Not noisy at all. A lot of restaurants and things to do at a walking distance. The only downside was the motion-sensor lights. The main one in the living room kept turning on throughout the night with ANY LITTLE MOVEMENT. Besides that, everything was excellent!

Great stay. All the staff was great. Had an issue with one of the cabinet doors coming out and they understood that it was due to regular wear and did not charge us like most hotels would have. Valet can take a while during certain times but otherwise they are great also. Room was clean and amenities where better than expected.

Overall OK. Crowded but good. Arrived at 2:00 PM and made to wait until exactly 4:00 PM to check in, no exceptions! However, for a $35 fee they could bend the rules and check you in early! Breakfast was Ok if you like powdered eggs, meatless sausage, and mess everywhere. Only thing worthwhile was toast you made yourself and coffee. Completely understaffed! Parking was $40 nite.

The room was nice visually but HOT no matter how much I turned down the AC. I wish the windows would open like there stickers said they do (they don’t) Lastly, my partner and I were out late and I had registered our vehicle for valet. As was needed. We received a sticker SPECIFICALLY for valet and our late valet driver lost our ticket. I was frustrated but I figured “Hey, we check out tomorrow and he said I should be good with just my ID” Morning rolls around I go down there and explain then show my ID. Valet man working snaps at me then walks away. I paid no mind to it. Gentleman at the front says they would have our car out soon (they did) it had taken AN HOUR to get our car because THE DRIVER that SNAPPED AT ME decided I didn’t need it and did not even grab the keys. I thank management for the refund I was given and for quickly solving the problem but needing to go up to valet 5 times to ask about my car is unacceptable. That is 40+ A NIGHT. I will not be returning but I thank management. Beautiful hotel poor quality though but also affordable so…yeah thx

We got there later than we expected, around 10 pm. The on duty manager was rude, there is apparently no other parking outside of their valet in the immediate vicinity, so I felt bullied into paying for valet service. The valet was nice and let us get everything out. The room was nice and quiet, there was a lot of space. The bathroom was nice. It was overall a good stay, I would recommend the hotel.

Not the best check-in experience. There was no one available at the front desk. Finally arrived and had to finish whatever he was doing, did not acknowledge that we had been waiting. The next morning completely the opposite and staff was helpful.

Location is conventient to the Riverwalk, Alamo, Mall, and lots of other places. It is also less than a block from the homeless communitys tent area and free showers. We wouldn't let our teenage daughter go outside by herself. Lots of people walking around near the hotel who were obviously on drugs and/or struggling with their mental health. There is no parking lot for the hotel unless you pay $40+/day for valet. Otherwise you park on the street and pay by the hour from 8am-6pm. After 6pm street parking is free. When we first arrived the guy working the front desk seemed irritated that we were there and could not have been less helpful. The ladies who worked the next day and the next evening were much more friendly and helpful. They only restock your room every 4 days, so you have to ask daily for more towels. We had 2 adults and 1 teenager and had 3 towels and 1 washcloth provided when we arrived. The next day we requested 5 towels so we could shower and wash our hair that night and washclothes so we could each have one. They only brought us 3 towels. So we requested additional towels and some washclothes again. This time they brought us 2 more towels and told us they didn't have any washclothes available. The breakfast was good and the pool was clean. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

The room was cleaned only when a guest asked for it. I never knew that until the day before we left. We were there only 4 nights so we never asked for it. Check in was at 4 pm and not one minute before. Breakfast was typical as most hotels offer but nothing fancy. Very convenient to Alamo, mall and Riverwalk. Parking via Valet only $40 plus tax daily. Our stay at Sonesta ES in Downtown S.A. was excellent. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in at this price, by far. Hot breakfast included. We will recommend this hotel to all of our friends and family. the remodel is super nice and it's only a 5 minute walk to the Alamo and just a couple of more minutes to the River walk. We will be back for sure!!!

You need to be recycling. We were missing wash cloths, which they provided after we called them. There was only one fork in the room, no dishwashing soap or sponge for doing dishes. The ice machine was turned off so if staying for just a night you had no ice. The hours for eating breakfast should be longer.
