Hotel is very dated from the 90s. Full construction zone out front and in the pool. Nothing was noted before booking that remodel was currently happening. Was looking forward to pool after long days on the mountain. No access to pool as it was closed. Access to sauna was very poorly lit with little to no lighting and very dirty

We stay at the Shilo at least once every winter to go cross-country skiing. This time we came in the middle of summer to hike in the near by mountain trails. The service was excellent as usual. We were very disappointed that the pool was closed for refurbishing and we were not alerted ahead of time. The rooms here are spacious and comfortable, but they are in need of maintenance. For example, in our room, the shower grout needs deep cleaning, the carper has stein spots and the window curtains are ripped. Looks like they are slowly making improvements around the hotel, so hopefully they would get to all the rooms soon. The quality of the breakfast items was not as good as before, but we made do and the coffee was good. We have been staying here for over 20 years, but now it has gotten very expensive. We did get a fairly good deal through Hotels.com, but be aware that the deals here are for "pet friendly" 2nd floors room. I didn't catch that when I made the reservation, but the front desk was very generous to upgrade us to another room when we explained that my travel companion has allergies and we are frequent guests.

This property is under renovation and we thought it was closed at first. There was a lot of construction material and workers. The pool was 0not open Because of the construction. We were sad because A pool was one of the factors in our reservation of this hotel. The hotel is dated and I'm glad that they are renovating. It will make it a much nicer place. On the good side the room was very large and spacious . The bed was comfortable.. It had a table and a desk and space to store things. The people at the front desk were very kind and courteou. They had a nice breakfast with sausage and eggs.

Having breakfast included was a big time saver for ski days. Good breakfast selection and plenty of coffee. Dissappointed that the jacuzzi still wasn't repaired like last year. This time the indoor swimming pool was also closed.

This hotel was ancient and run down. When we stayed it had construction supplies all over and blocked our window. The hallway carpet was horrible and it was just plain dirty. Had we known about the construction and condition we would not have booked a room there at all. The pictures online didn't show that. And to us it was over priced.

This hotel was under construction out front. There was NO sign to indicate it was a hotel. The front doors do not open on auto so you have to try and hold them open and bring in your luggage. There was NO one at the front desk. I asked a housekeeper for a rest room. The toilet was falling off the wall. I was told I could pay 50.00 to check in early ( which means they had rooms but just wanted to get money). Once we checked in we were told we could only stay in a "pet room" which is fine since we had a dog. We got into the room and it stunk with old animal pee. The carpets were stained beyond belief. The doors uses an old fashion "key" and the lock was loose, no security bar once you lock the door. The drapes had holes in them, and the quilt was ripped. This is a VERY VERY OLD dated and dirty hotel. NO one should consider staying here. I feel I should get a credit rather than having to pay. It was a nightmare !!! Overflowing trash bins, trash in the hallways...very sketchy.

I think they really should just bulldoze the places and start again. By far the worst thing was the carpets. The room carpet was old and stained but the hallway was indescribable. Solid crusty stain. Moving to the breakfast. The scrambled eggs had orange stripes. Very scary. I do not need perfection but this was horrible.

This place sucks! If you’re going to rent rooms during a remodel you should reflect that in the price! No way this was worth the $249 I paid to stay here! I’ve never stayed anywhere that was so old, damaged, and smelly! That couch…I’ve seen furniture in better condition on the side of the road! The coffee in the room did not come with the proper filters for the actual maker so that didn’t work. The toilet barely flushed. There are stains everywhere on the carpet! I was afraid to take off my shoes! I am traveling with my dog and had to sign something saying I would have to pay $350 cleaning fee if she soiled the carpet. What?! The condition of ALL the carpet..how could you even tell or have the nerve to charge for damage to that? WiFi did not work either! The breakfast was mediocre at best with NO COFFEE at 7 am in the morning! This is not even close to a discount hotel condition! I Don’t need much when traveling just basic amenities and cleanliness which this hovel did not have! Missing tiles and uneven floors throughout the property. Also missing ceiling tiles in hallways

This place is simply filthy. The first room I got was not serviced and in the second, the carpet could be out of a crime scene, the bathroom had hair from the previous guest on the floor and I there was jam and water on the counter. It's beyond me how they get away with that level of housekeeping and service. I called the front desk but they didn't care much. I'll try to upload pictures.

The building is undergoing major construction which we had no knowledge of ahead of time. Pool/hot tub was inaccessible, big disappointment. Tile in our bathroom was cracked/cracking, air conditioning unit cover is coming off, curtains have visible holes from wear/insect damage. Several common areas had wallpaper peeling off the wall, everything is very old, the entire complex is in desperate need of a refresh.

The property needs a big renovation inside and outside. It seems they started outside work and changed for new windows - which seems not working properly as wind going through with whistling noise, windows are hard to close = not installed correctly. Very dirty carpet, even windows and around - lots of dust and other remains after installation. Some tiles are broken on the bathroom floor and in bathtub seems like falling apart.

Where do we begin? First, we had been given a room that not been cleaned after other guests prior use/stay. We did receive another room with a renovated bathroom, which was the best thing about the hotel other than the front desk staff (they were apologetic and great). Yes, the hotel needs a major renovation upgrade as it is dingy and dated, but that is no excuse for not being clean. Hallways, elevator, corners of our room had build up of dirt and grime. This includes around the mirror in the vanity area. The bed sheets in our replacement room had to be replaced as well the first night as it looked as if they didn’t replace the sheets from the previous guests (long hairs in between and dirty). We went to go use the hot tub the second night and just said, “nope” as the water didn’t look clean and the whole pool area needs a facelift. Other gripes include that our microwave didn’t heat properly and the hot water for the shower was very inconsistent. Will not stay here again until the owners decide to put some TLC into it.

Old and outdated. WiFi did not work and there was no cable TV. There were some old shows, but very limited and the major news channels did not work. As for the WiFi, they said you had to bring your computer to the main lobby to logon to the WiFi and then it would work in your room. Tried, but no go. The place is old and worn out, carpet is dirty, especially in the hallways. Sad, because I was recommended this hotel as being close to the hospital, which it was, but I would have booked somewhere else knowing what I know now. My next trip to town I will not stay here for sure.

The check inn was fast and nice front desk lady. The property was in construction so was a lit bit difficult to find as it did not have the street number or the hotel name went we arrive, Even tho it was in renovation; there was nice quite room. I guess the only thing i will change is the carpet it was with stains and duty. The rest was clean.

Great location with easy access to drive to the slopes. Right next to a Starbucks and next to a shopping center with a market and a breakfast place. And easy to walk to other places near by. Our room was clean, staff was nice. Decent warm breakfast in the morning. Rooms were quiet despite it being a holiday weekend.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in a while. Under construction. On a positive the guy at the front desk was nice and accommodating. He exchanged our room because our first one was super ghetto. Breakfast buffet is a joke. It’s good for a cup of Folgers coffee and that’s about it. Location is convenient and it’s nice to have a parking garage.

This is a great place to stay in Mammoth Lakes. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The price is excellent for the accommodations and the locations is conveniently located next to the Red Line bus stop so you can jump in and head to the Village or Main Lodge. It’s a great Hotel.

Difficult to locate location of Inn because construction activities are blocking former signage. Why no temporary sign in location visible from street??? Parking difficult due to construction worker vehicles. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast well prepared and plenty available. Front entry doors difficult to open. No advance notice on line of construction activities.

The entire hotel looked like it was under construction. We were not notified prior to our stay that both the pool and hot tub were under construction and not accessible. The hot water was warm and the windows were not completed finished. The bed had minimal pillows and bedding with no extra blankets.

The property is good for what it is-- a place for skiers to sleep before or after a day of skiing. The furnishings are basic from the early 1980s, hallway and room carpets are dirty, room heating units are noisy, but the bed was comfortable. Provided breakfast stuff in the mornings is available. Nothing fancy and it will get you started. Covered parking and garage is good! Jacuzzi and pool will be closed until 2026 for building work in pool area.

The desk service was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly good; including fresh made waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage patties. The room was just ok. The furniture looked like it was from the 80's and well used. The bed was comfortable and pillows in good shape. The carpet looked in poor condition and in need of professional cleaning/replaced. The hallway carpets were in worse condition and there was a smell in the hallway (carpet most likely). This is a winter destination and it is understandable the carpets get wet more often than normal.

The included breakfast was really good and varied. It saved us a lot of time getting to the slopes. Having an elevator to haul our ski gear up to the room was great. Wish the jacuzzi had been working for after ski. Location is excellant but unfinished lot next door made walking to shops and store uncomfortable.
