Holiday Inn Oxford by IHG

Great two night stay at Holiday Inn Oxford. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment of its public areas very recently making it a really nice area to have a drink or a meal. Our room was a king room which had plenty of space, was very clean and comfortable - even had a fridge which was a bonus. The staff were really helpful and friendly and very proud of their refurbished hotel. While the hotel is out of town there is a park n ride bus stop only a few minutes walk away making access to the city super easy. Can recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Oxford.

Room was excellent. Staff and facilities good. Only gripe was that although parking was advertised there was no mention of the fact that you pay per day to park, even when you are a hotel guest.

Breakfast spread was amazing, love the enormous working area with different seating layouts, lobby is vibrant and lively.

Great hotel and well located for the centre of Oxford. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk away from the Park & Ride, which takes just over 10 minutes into town. The breakfast was the best I've ever had in a hotel. Both the variety and quality of the food was outstanding and there was always lots of staff on hand to clear tables and replenish the food. The only downside was having to pay for parking at £6 per day, which given this isn't in the city centre, doesn't really make sense.

Located close to Oxford city centre with good car park size.

Absolutely perfect for going to Blenheim Palace for a concert... there was a bus stop very close to the hotel...we parked in the hotel (£6 for 24hrs) and headed off. The buses aldo go into Oxford city centre, so perfect location. Good variety for breakfast, and interior tastefully done. Staff very helpfuland polite. Overall an excellent stay.

This is a very comfortable hotel about 10 minutes from Oxford. My husband and I stayed for only one night, but found the location convenient since we had a car. The hotel is as good as any Holiday Inn I have stayed in North America. The only complaint is having to pay for parking in their parking lot. The bed was comfortable, nice lobby and breakfast very good.

We had an enjoyable stay. The staff were helpful in sorting out an issue with obtaining programmes on the TV. Excellent breakfasts and comfortable rooms. We had an issue with car parking on arrival - does it have to be so very complicated? After a long tiring journey the last thing you need is to be messing with a parking apps on your phone, giving information etc. My Iphone won't even let me download the app. We have been caught out before on parking so are extremely careful now, but it seems an unecessary hassle. Wouldn't mind a bit extra on the cost without having to pay daily parking. I realise that the car park is probably managed separately from the hotel, but it is mainly for the hotel's clients.

The only downside is having to pay for parking

Lovely out of town hotel. Great service both in check in and in the restaurant for breakfast. Room was lovely, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean.

This was a good night's trip. We stayed for just one night as we were passing through. The room was spacious, well serviced and very clean. It was a delight to have decent Aircon while it was so warm outside. The area was quiet.

staffs are super kind but the room wasn't as we have wishes. hairs on the bed, and also hair on toilet roll...... and also the container of soap wasn't look very clean either.

Location good for Oxford. Hotel areas have had make over and look fresh and new, rooms whilst very clean spacious are a bit dated.

Average stay, due to the TV not working, and the room's gas alarm sounded twice, which the front desk staff responded to very fast, too, when we called.

The room was clean and a good size, location of the hotel was perfect for Oxford really easy to use the park and ride. Only thing that let it down was the sound proofing was pretty bad where we were disturbed one morning.

Great location when visiting in and around Oxford. Sadly had a poor experience initially (given rooms with no air-conditioning in 32 degrees)! After speaking with the manager, Georgi, it was a known issue and we were relocated to different rooms in the newer wing of the building. The initial rooms had a tower fan and the window open so it was obvious that they knew there was a problem and allocated those rooms despite this. The issue was eventually resolved but showed that customers experience was not a priority in room allocation at check in. Pretty sure IHG can do better! Anyway, the remainder of our stay was perfectly fine.

Staff were wonderful and friendly. Room was nice and clean. However, bed was slightly hard and the walls are extremely thin.

My room was old and need updating. Toilet had difficulty flushing. The thermostat didn’t respond when I was trying to turn up the heat or turn it down. I understand the other side was renovated. I probably would not stay there again due to the room. The rest of the facilities, breakfast and dinner were very nice. Staff were very nice.

The room was lovely not too hot, not too cold. All nice and clean. the only thing was the length of time it took to check in. the hotel was busy and therefore each guest seem to take a long time to process

Had a great stay, George great customer service on check in, air-conditioning kept us cool, so a good night's sleep, lovely self service buffet breakfast in the morning with pretty much everything you could want for breakfast

The hotel is very pleasant, modern and bright. The staff were friendly & polite, although checking in was not swift and there were no self check in facilities that were visible. However, the upgrade was fully appreciated. We had a late lunch and the menu choice was good. The eating area was not as tidy as it could have been with tables not cleared and the delivery of food taking a little longer than it might have, there seemed to be a lack of staff in this area. The lady delivering our food admitting that she doesnt normally do this part, but could see our food was sat on the side, whilst looking at another member of staff who was talking to some other guests and who had been for some time, hence the delay. The lift to our floor was very dark, there was clearly a lighting issue with temporay magnetic lights, not giving enough light when the doors were closed. . The room itself was plesant, clean and tidy and modern with complimentary water and light snacks. £6 parking cost with plenty of parking. Checking in and out times very good. Breakfast was a little chaotic, it was very busy, some tables were very close together and getting past seating was like an obstacle course at times. I had to ask a member of staff for the milk churn to be refilled at the cearal stand, which she did obliged to but in total silence and showing no emotion. There was a good choice of breakfast options, like all buffet breakfast, it is hit and miss with temperature. Checking out was very swift!

I recently visited the Holiday Inn Oxford hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the hotel was clean and provided a peaceful atmosphere, which was appreciated. However, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. Firstly, during check-in, I found the front desk staff to be lacking in sincerity, which affected the overall impression of the service. Additionally, the room I stayed in was quite dark, and when I requested an extra lamp to brighten up the space, I was informed that it wasn't possible. This was disappointing as it hindered the comfort of the room. Lastly, there was a discrepancy with the parking fee. The staff quoted a price of £40 (I had no choice to paid), whereas in your Expedia website mentioned a fee of only £6 at the time of booking. This inconsistency was frustrating and should be addressed for better customer satisfaction.

Stayed for 2 nights BB and couldn’t fault it, front desk were pleasant and alway helpful, along with the staff in the restaurant. Bed was massive, and comfortable. Everything you needed was in your room. This hotel is close to the park & ride, so very handy for getting in and out of Oxford, and last bus runs till after 11pm.

Fantastic and helpful staff throughout including Jackie the Manager. We got stuck here waiting for the RAC and it turned a nightmare into something much better.

Arrived at 1.30am as had been working. Waited 15 mins at reception for someone to come out and book me in. Night porter would not serve us a drink unless we paid a room service charge although we were in the bar area. Could not decide if we needed to pay for parking, did not take a payment but in the morning I was told I may or may notvget a fine. Nice hotel spoilt by rude useless staff.

Great location, just off the A34 & a short walk to the Park & Ride into Oxford. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas. We paid for an upgraded room but not sure what we got for that. The bathroom was ready for a refurb. Breakfast was buffet stryld with plenty of variety. We have stayed here before & would stay again as it’s very convenient.

Absolutely ideal choice when visiting Oxford and surrounding areas. Right next to the Park and Ride plus adjacent to the main roundabout so good for easy access to main roads. Friendly staff and a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel.

Great location for our event at Blenheim Palace, and getting into Oxford from the park and ride. Pleasantly surprised with the room size, very quiet and dark for a sleep in. We didn’t use any of the other facilities or eat/drink here so can’t comment. Overall a great and convenient stay

Nice spacious room. Would appreciate some drawers for clothes. Good breakfast. Restaurant was disappointing one evening. It was ok the other two. Good location if you’re happy to use the bus into Oxford from the nearby park and ride.

Everything was fine until I went for dinner (pre-booked and pre-paid). I was given a very limited menu and wasn;t really taken with anything on offer. I chose the 'safe' choice of fish and chips but unfortunately the fish really was drowned in oil and so I didn't each much of it. Is it not put on a rack after frying and before serving. This would instantly solve this issue. But what was totally unacceptable was that, as the last diner I was left (abandoned) for a full 25 minutes alone, no staff, and wanting to leave. Eventually I got up from the table and returned to my room as I knew that I could pay for my (not included) wine in the morning. To then be disturbed in my room as I was getting ready for work by a staff member banging on the room door and thrusting a card reader at me, saying "you haven't paid for your wine" was totally unacceptable. When I said I couldn't pay for it as there were no staff available - and anyway I could pay for it in the morning when I checked out - the staff member said "No, you have to pay it now" - like I was like some "risk of flight" danger to Holiday Inn. I was gobsmacked.

Polite and helpful staff. Clean, easy to park. Resteraunt staff let the side down. Served by 3 different people who got the order for dinner completely muddled. Resulted in food arriving at different times, being sent back and then reappearing hot but dried out. Some of the meal was excellent but some was a disaster. The Manager did his best to put things right. But the experience was not good.

It’s ok hotel located close to motorway. The only think is the food is very very very bad. I ordered a fre dishes unfortunately I couldn’t eat it.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We thought our stay was good value and made better by the staff. Our only „complaint“ is that the hot breakfast buffet was barely warm. However there was plenty of choice.

Room was clean, bed was super comfortable. One light bulb was out on a reading lamp. Staff were happy and polite. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of options. Will definitely stay here again.
