We stayed at the W in San Francisco for a long weekend away. They have a $40 per day resort fee. But they essentially give it back in a $35 per day good and beverage credit in the hotel. Also, free tickets to the SFMOMA next door! Great staff. Cool lobby.

Front desk staffs were super nice, willing to listen and accomodate our requests. Dining and breakfast were obviously understaffed, waited long time to even make a takeout order. Gym is well equipped, only disappointment was no swimming pool/spa, considering this is a 4.5 star hotel.

Hotel was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful with local information. We loved the modern decor. Breakfast was great. More than enough. Valet assistance was excellent. Finally the fitness center was a level up. Great equipment and spacious.

W is in a very congested area of Sf. Finding the valet was difficult and then your car is parked somewhere, but I’m uneasy about not knowing. Getting the car back system didn’t work for me. I used the QR code on my claim check, texted the number provided and and asked for the car to be ready in 20-25 mins. Checked out 20 mins later, no car. Valet said that he received no text. I checked my phone and a message was returned to me saying that the claim # was invalid / not recognized. That was info populated by the qr code. A better solution for parking would be welcomed to lower my anxiety level around the current system

The San Francisco W hotel was pleasant. My wife and I stayed there for one night and it was convenient to restaurants, transportation and Oracle park. The staff was very accommodating and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel offered valet parking and, if needed, there is one EV charger available.

I had a corner 1-br and it was quiet and had a lot of privacy! The gym had a lot of cardio equipment but was limited on weight training. The lobby felt like a club on Friday and Saturday nights, but the noise didn't travel up to my room on the 7th floor. The bed was super comfortable and there were plenty of in-room snacks and beverages should you wish to imbibe. I would definitely stay again!

Overall very nice. Great location for our needs. Very attentive and pleasant staff. Glad the "resort fee" was included in the quoted price this time. It's annoyingly restricted, but at least now they are being mostly honest about it. Wish they'd use fitted sheets. Normally I don't require daily room cleaning, but the sheets came loose every night and I was glad for them to come remake the bed each day. Place was very clean, but some of the upolstery was showing a bit of wear.

It felt like a Zombie apocolypse outside after 6pm. City should plan more aid to help with homeless and mental health issues. The hotel itself was not as great as previous stays, was very empty. Shower was not clean - had lots of black stuff along the edges and sides. Bathroom in main lobby was very gross and dirty.

We enjoyed our stay at the SF W. It was close to Oracle Park and Union Square, and we walked to both. The hotel wery clean, modern, and the staff was very friendly & helpful. The room was large and had a very comfortable bed!

The presidential suite smelled of smoke. The lounge/common areas of the suite had a bad smell. I asked that room be cleaned and the front desk stated that they would use an “ozone” to clear the air/smell from room. Unfortunately the room still smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, it was so bad that I broke out in hives.

Room was for two people and had only 1 barstool or floor cubes to use as a chair. For in room dining had to sit on bed for us to eat. Seating in room was a window seat that you used another cube to step on to climb into the window seat. Weird. At $400 a night I guess expecting 2 chairs was too much for Marriott.

It was ok the room was great. My room was next to the elevator and you can heard it all the time and it seems to be close to the service room because they were making noise all day. also I had a no disturb sign and the house- keeping knoc at my door them left saying sorry.

The room had amazing views of the city, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great, especially the wonderful walk-in shower. Valet parking was easy and convenient. The only drawback was the noise from the elevator—it was so loud that it woke me several times throughout the night.

Too much emphasis on 'design' and not enough on comfort. Except for the bed, there was no real furniture in the room, just suggestions of what might be something to sit on, what might be a desk. Bathroom was great. Bed comfy. Lobby and bar very dark--charcoal gray carpets, black or gray furniture, black walls with gold bits. Again, no real furniture in the lobby--just faux leather banquettes. Nowhere obvious to sit and read a paper with coffee. What were they thinking? Lobby, Bar, and Restaurant Staff were lovely people.

The restaurant service was extremely slow - just a pot of tea came after 40 minutes of wait. Ordered some sushi and a wagu rice dish and that was even slower. Asked to speak with the manager and the staffs did not even comply - had to spot him out myself to complain. Found out no laundry service at this hotel also. Staying here a week at a supposed 5 stars hotel and I had to find a laundromat myself. Never will eat or stay here again

When I tried to check in, the front desk had no record of my reservation and said that they had not received the payment I made to Hotels.com. Also, the music in the lobby bar was so loud, it was almost impossible to hear what the people at the front desk were saying...it was crazy. I showed the manager my confirmation from Hotels.com, but he said the W never received that information. He told me to call Hotels.com to deal with it, but there was no way I could make a phone call given how loud the music was playing. I was standing there with my luggage and getting nowhere. Eventually, they charged me for a new room and told me I would have get hotels.com to issue a refund. I had no idea what rate they were charging, but after a half hour getting no where, I took the room. The manager was very rude and told me he only uses the hotel website (of course, he works there!) and that it was Hotel.com's fault that the W did not have my reservation. Very frustrating, while music was blasting so conversation was almost impossible. I won't be returning to the W anytime soon.

The front desk staff and valets were wonderful. They checked us in early and gave us tips about a parade blocking streets the next day. We had bad service in the bar area but the manager of the bar came along eventually and made it all right.

Julian, the bellhop was amazing. He helped us from start to finish with our stay there very friendly and the guy deserves a raise. We went on our honeymoon and they made sure that we had anything we needed and some extras which was great. Check-in was great everything was I will be staying there again.

Top-tier all the way around - wish we were in town for a longer stay! Even stored bags and car for a matinee Giants game the next day. The friendliest, most accommodating staff! Missed the restaurant open hours, but the Living Room bar had great after hours food and service. Loved all the luxurious amenities and had just a fantastic experience!

Our stay here was very pleasurable. We had an awful experience at the bar. Poor customer service. Cold food a d we found hair on our plate. Our server was pretty horrible never came back to check on us. Attempted to get his attention three times and he ignored us. Finally got the attention of the manager on the floor and he was able to take care of all of our issues. The W hotel is not cheap so you would think the customer service would be a lot better. Do better W-hotel, people are spending good money to be here.
