Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea

We stayed in 3 different rooms - garden view with kitchenette, garden view and beach front. All were terrific, easy to get to anywhere on the resort, clean and comfortable. Pool is not heated so a bit cold. Great snorkeling right off the shore. Food was mediocre but the resort is in a terrific location by the ‘largest’ town with some shops and restaurants very nearby. We easily booked lots of activities thru the resort which were all terrific - food tour, scuba diving, pontoon snorkeling tour to lagoons, and cooking class.

Great pool, wonderful lagoon.

Nice hotel, clean and nice room, good area, close to many shops and restaurants, which is nice because the hotel restaurant is very expensive compared to the other restaurants in the area. We stayed for our honeymoon and they arranged a flower spread on our bed and also gave us cookies one day. Kind of disappointed breakfast was not included in our rate which was already pretty expensive, ended up going off property for this as well. Enjoyed the free kayak rentals and beautiful infinity pool.

Wonderful pool setting including a hammock on the beach to relax & watch the sunset. Paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling equipment readily available. Great location with an easy walk to a supermarket, small group of shops & a bank. If you’re catching a late ferry they allow you to use the pool and you can book the shower room. Comfortable room with A/C, safe & fridge, tea coffee facilities.

They have a “duplex” where there is a second story with a king/2twins in the “upstairs” level so if you need a little separation, this is a great option. However, note that there is only one bathroom so whoever is sleeping upstairs needs to go downstairs to use the bathroom and that might not work for those who are older or have mobility issues since the stairs are quite steep. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The location is GREAT with a small shopping center a free minutes away by foot, including a small grocery store. The infinity pool was lovely. There is a fitness center but it’s just a couple of treadmills and ellipticals. The AC in our room was POWERFUL so don’t worry about the heat and humidity in Moorea; you will find reprieve in your room. The only negative was that the food at the bar restaurant sucked. Really, really bad. For instance, my meal came with “wok cooked fresh vegetables” but they were clearly from a bag of mixed frozen veggies heated up in the microwave - they were soggy, bland and overall gross so stay there, but I don’t recommend eating there. Ditto for the Hilton’s Rotui restaurant. Same gross reheated frozen vegetables and French fries. Eat at Ccok hotel’s restaurant or the Sofitel.

Lovely location and views. Magnificent snorkeling onsite. Other free onsite activities offered as well. Activity desk can also help with offsite excursions.

I was concerned on the mixed reviews, but our experience in an OWB was fantastic! (#409) The room was amazing, the pool was large, the breakfast buffet was good. All staff were friendly, location has restaurants close by. Aprox 15-20 minutes from the ferry terminal. Would come back here again

Wonderful resort in a very convenient location only 10 minutes from ferry terminal. Overwater bungalows are very modern, spacious and gorgeous! Wonderful snorkeling right off your private dock. Beautiful infinity pool with plenty of shaded seating if desired. Definitely a splurge, but well worth it for a special occasion. Hotel provided a beautiful flower greeting and chilled champagne bucket for our anniversary!💕

This was a perfect end to our vacation. The reef is amazing to snorkel, the kayaks/paddleboards offered a different experience. Beach was well kept and beautiful. Hotel service and amenities surpassed expectations. I can’t say enough positive about the staff. Tini greeted us, made us feel so welcome and when we checked out offered the same welcoming feeling. Food was very good and there is a good variety offered, plus being able to take it to the bungalow was a nice option to remain private. Shore excursion desk was very helpful although we ended up exploring on our own. The options they offered seemed good and reasonable. The biggest surprise was the gift store offered a wonderful selection of pearls and they had WAY better pricing than anywhere else we visited on this island or Bora Bora. Reception staff was very helpful. They gave us a tour of the hotel while walking us to our room. Our over-the-water bungalow was absolutely stunning! Room and bathroom were very clean and all necessities were provided to us. It was a wonderful experience, but I wish it was a little less expensive so we could have afforded more than 1 night there.

The pictures of the property are a bit misleading, the beach is very small and shallow even at high tide, the water is generally a bit murky Our beachfront room was dated and needed complete redecoration. There was a lingering smell. The lobby and foyer are lovely, the dining room and bar are nice, but the food was generally the worst we have eaten in French Polynesia. The staff are lovely and helpful. We were surprised when we didn’t receive any response from our initial feedback and concerns. Nearly run over by a staff member reversing at high speed on the path near our room. The pool is nice, again not that big but not in high demand either with a great view back to the mountains. Nice to be close to the village and supermarket. Overall we were disappointed and not what we expected.

Great staff, wonderful amenities and facilities, and a very clean room. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Everything felt warm, welcoming, and well taken care of. Celebrating my 60th birthday at your hotel was truly a dream come true. Thank you for making it so special and memorable. Manava Beach Resort is truly a recommended destination, and I would gladly return again.

Room was infested with ants

the hotel and resort is great but very disappoint about the beach. the beach is so small and dirty

The property was not maintained at all and showed severe deferred maintenance. Pool sides and steps were full of black mold. Showers were full of mold. Beds were hard, linens were old. Online advertising was not an accurate representation of the property at all. Very disappointed.

there needs to be a screen over the bathroom window slats to prevent insects from betting inside. we were invaded by ants almost daily, but did not notice that there was not a screen until we departed.

The resort was beautiful, quiet and very clean. We stayed in a Premium Over Water Bungalow and really enjoyed seeing all the fish and the coral right underneath and around the bungalows. We enjoyed snorkeling along the bungalows also. We took a kayak out one day and also swam in the nice swimming pool. Some problems we encountered were with the dining. Twice I never got the drink I ordered and service was slow. The language barrier also caused a few problems also, but I know it was our fault as we don’t speak French or Polynesian. We were offered a discount breakfast package and we accepted after asking a couple of times if the price was for the whole week we were there and the lady said yes, but at checkout it was actually per person per day which came to $70 a day just for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was the same every morning and got old after a few mornings even when trying to have something different each morning. They didn’t have crepes or waffles. Also birds would fly in to the fruit area and stand on the food and take some. I didn’t think that was very sanitary. Overall a great, relaxing stay and we enjoyed our time there.

The first night we found hundreds of ants in our room even in our bed. We thought it was the flowers they brought in the room so we removed those and told the staff. The next day they sprayed and reduce the numbers but still had tons of ants. We found ants throughout all of our belongings so had to remove everything from our suitcases and tried to clean everything up. We understand we are in a tropical climate but didn’t plan on spending our vacation time trying to keep ants from taking over. We expected more from a $1200 a night room.

Fabulous 6 night stay at the manava. Property is great...pretty quiet but still busy. We stayed in OWB which was perfect. Unit is a bit worn but nice size and features. Wifi is extremely poor, needed to use cellular most of the time. Restaurants on site are OK. Location is good as there are restaurants and stores to walk to.

We had a very nice 2 night stay in a premium overwater bungalow. We appreciated the free use of kayaks and we enjoyed snorkeling out by the reef. The room was very spacious and clean. We had great dinners at nearby offsite restaurants - one right across the street and Keikis to the left and up the road about 0.2 miles. For us, the high cost of the bungalow was a splurge so we wouldn't do that again but we would consider staying in one of the more economical rooms. We took the ferry from Tahiti and reserved transfers with Alberts.

Beautiful overwater bungalows. Make sure you get the ones facing the ocean instead of the lagoon.

Stayed in the overwater bungalow and it was phenomenal... living right on top of the beautiful reef with the large wall was a dream. Check in and check out were comfortable and easy, with the resort making it easy to enjoy all the amenities even after check out time. Will definitely recommend over and over!

It’s misleading the size of the room. It’s really like 325 square feet instead of the 500+ advertised. The balcony should be noted as part of the square footage but is not.

We rented a bungalow and thought it was beautiful. We were in 401 which was right next to a rather busy dock that continually brought boats with anywhere from10 to 30 people and took away from the quiet enjoyment and relaxation and since we were only there for one night, it was quite disappointing. So I would recommend this hotel but if they try to put you in bungalow 401 politely decline and ask for a different placement.

Food and drinks were all exceptional. The option for food at the one restaurant all day is great in addition to the fancier restaurant that has specific hours. The bed is very comfortable and AC worked well. Attention to detail like night stand lamps, showers out by lounge chairs, etc. I’m not sure why they rent out beach bungalows 302 and 303 though. We were on our honeymoon and wanted a relaxing escape. These are right next to 301 which is the scuba shop. They start talking and loading gear at 6:30am. The garbage trucks come at 3, 4, 5am near there, and they are right by the concrete pier where locals jump into the ocean. Between kids screaming, loud music, and just noise, it was not relaxing many hours of the day. There are a lot of beachfront options on the other side of the complex that I really wish we’d been able to enjoy.

The Over the Water bungalow experience was great and the bungalow was well designed and comfortable.

The hospitality here was way better than at the Hilton (we stayed at both). The garden villa with pool provided excellent privacy and a wonderful place to lounge during the day. The pool was also the best of all the places we stayed. Highly recommend staying where. Only advice is the overwater villas don’t have much privacy or a view- pool villa is a much better deal!

Great location, amazing staff, beautiful facility.

The resort is very nice, clean, and well maintained. The location is also on the more convenient side of the island from the ferry terminal. There are a few places to walk to for food and shopping. I was scuba diving for a few days at the dive shop on their property (a great experience) when I decided to move the remainder of my hotel stay to Manava for convenience. My only criticism is the young man at the front desk was smug and not helpful for the two days I was there. I suppose I looked less than normally presentable in my disheveled diving clothes, because he appeared smug and superior when he spoke with me (solo, young Asian female). I asked to check my bag one morning while I planned to go diving as well as waited to check into the hotel at 2pm. I was told the luggage will be sent to the room when it's ready. When I arrived back to the lobby to check in hours later, I saw my luggage (and only mine) by the side of the front door entrance, where my passport and wallet were one zipper away from idle hands. I angrily asked why my luggage wasn't locked away, and he smiled at me and shrugged, then said it was safe there. I would likely not stay there again due to this attitude as there are several similar resorts on the island.

While we had a miscommunication over our length of stay, the staff at the Manava Hotel went above and beyond to remedy the mistake. They were so responsive to our needs in every way. Even let us have a later check out since we had to move rooms. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Moorea.

Had minor hiccup but Manager Timi resolved the issue. Clerk Maeva, Benjamin & Timi were amazing. Loved the local music & dance. Great atmosphere!!! Definitely will visit again 😘😘😘 Staff made all the difference.

Excellent service from start to finish, highly recommend.

The hotel is beautiful & the staff were friendly & helpful. Sadly, there were many missed opportunities for great service & errors in our stay that made our honeymoon disappointing overall. For starters, we purchased dinner & a show ahead of time, but were still presented a full bill, even after showing our server our voucher. They fixed it the next day & sent us complimentary cocktails, which was nice but still an inconvenience. Unfortunately, our experience kept getting worse. A front desk agent mistakenly called our room saying we needed to check out even though we had just arrived. He recognized his mistake & apologized. After, we had asked for a small load of laundry to be done but were asked to count up our dirty Landry, account for every item and fill out a form so they could charge us. I explained that the price didn’t matter, we didn’t want to take away from our honeymoon experience to add up/ fill out paperwork. Again, not a big deal, but just another missed opportunity to offer great service & make it easier for us to relax & enjoy our honeymoon. We decided it was more convenient to do our laundry elsewhere. Finally, at checkout, a bellman stopped by to let us know he would be getting our bags, but for some reason they weren’t available when our taxi came at 11:30. We had a reservation to get to & the hotel staff didn’t know where our luggage was at that time. We received our luggage later (we had to come back) but were disappointed with our experience.

This was our first time ever in Tahiti, plus our Honeymoon so we had no clue what we were expecting. Once we arrived we were told the market was a five minute walk away and some shops as well. After exploring our room and property we went on the five minute walk. That was the best advice we had received. Not only was it a loco market ( we rather support loco than a company) the verity of different fresh made foods were amazing. We would stock up on breakfast lunch and dinner each day and as-well as drinks for the room ( both alcoholic and non ) , and BELIVE me you are gonna save HUGE going that route. Just doing that one day would be one dinner at the restaurant in the resort. Plus you can interact with the locos which are so welcoming. Plus my luck I revived the worst ear infection after the 3 day , now knowing being called “ Tropic Ear “ , the drs office was also across the street from the market and the pharmacy was only 10 minutes up the road. After spend our whole week there we found out this resort had everything around them with in a 5-10 min walk, when other reports you will need to book a car , taxi or scooter to get around. Oh by the way you can go wrong with the BEAUTIFUL sunsets on the main door of the bungalows.

Great location, walkable to several restaurants. Great happy hour at hotel from 5-7. Wonderful pool. Great snorkeling right at the hotel in front of the overwater bungalows. Free snorkeling gear, SUPs, kayaks, life jackets. Very friendly staff. Great includes breakfast. Very kid friendly.

Best place on Moorea. Very relaxing, gorgeous, great snorkeling right in front of the hotel, easy access to shopping, restaurants, grocery. Loved this place!

We had a lovely stay at Manava Resort. The hotel staff were wonderful and very accommodating, our over water bungalow was dreamy and location stunning Only complaint (& it’s kind of a big one if they are trying to maintain a certain caliber of resort) was the food at the restaurant We had breakfast included and both mornings the selection was mediocre. You can order eggs, potatoes etc but they were subpar day 1, almost not edible day 2 We dined in the restaurant one evening and were very disappointed in both the service and quality, presentation and taste of the food. Poor value for what was received Luckily we found local restaurant for the other meals Besides the disappointment with the food we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

Good location, very professional,good food

Lovely spot but challenging for gluten free travellers. Although the a la carte dinner menu lists gf options, it was not available on the buffet night. The following day, the request for a gf burger, ie a naked burger, was an expensive fail. It arrived with hamburger buns. We found the food options next door and over the road better suited to our diet and budget.

Staff were very polite and professional. Location was outrageous. Food at the resort was mediocre. The buffet breakfast had a lot of options but they could vary it up. Drinks were great and strong !

Location and overwater bugalow was awesome! Huge thanks to Concierge Timi who VIPd us the entire time. Food quality and food service was average and at times disappointing but that would not stop us from returning.

The Manava Beach Resort met and exceeded our expectations. We were able to get a steep discount for our low-season stay which made it an incredible value. The highlights include: Every single person on staff went above and beyond and was incredibly warm and friendly; WiFi was strong even in the overwater bungalow; breakfast was cooked to order and all you can eat - we never went hungry, that's for sure; the hotel is making a great effort to nurture and rebuild the coral reef; snorkeling along the ledge (adjacent to the panoramic bungalows) was outstanding - sharks, turtles, rays, eels, octopus, and thousands of fish; use of paddleboards/kayaks/fins/beach towels was included at no additional charge; the a/c in the bungalow worked perfectly and cooled the room even in the peak of a Tahitian summer; the mini-fridge kept everything cool and ice was plentiful at the multiple ice makers on the property; the infinity pool is beautiful and large; lounge chairs/hammock/and cozy spots were always available in either sun or shade; and beach towels were always clean and plentiful. The only downsides were minor: There was ongoing tile repair to the pool deck and rethatching of the bungalows throughout our stay - it was sometimes a bit noisy; and the water pressure in the shower was not quite as strong as I like it but still adequate. Recommendation: Organize a daily or twice-daily paddle to the reef with an employee who can watch over the kayaks/sups while the guests snorkel.

It was beautiful and quiet. The restaurant on the property was pretty bad. We tried breakfast and dinner. Both times you were very over charged for what you got. They need to redo the whole menu for starters.
