I was disappointed with my stay because several details listed about the hotel were inaccurate. There is no airport shuttle service, and lunch is not provided, contrary to what was advertised. The room itself also needs attention. The sofas and bed are outdated and should be repaired or replaced. The air conditioner in my room was not functioning properly, which made the stay uncomfortable. That said, I would like to acknowledge the dining room staff. They were very kind, attentive, and clearly trying their best despite the limitations. I truly appreciated their effort.

It appears the owners of this “once high-end” property have lost complete interest in their guests. It’s run down, dirty, very poor if any attention from staff. We stayed in the top-end room. The view was beautiful over the Yarra Valley but that was the only positive experience we had. A 24” TV with most free-to-air channels not working is below standard. There was a DVD player and DVD’s could be borrowed from reception but they were from the 80s and 90’s. You’d expect more for a $500+ per night room which wasn’t cleaned properly. The pool was green with algae. A shadow of its past glory.

Great location for us to explore the area. Staff were exceptional. Restaurant amazing. The buildings and grounds look a little tired, rooms still fantastic. Had it been summer I would have been disappointed to find the swimming pool out of use while still being advertised as a feature.

Old hotel with a touch of Class, excellent staff. Free parking for residents. Yarra Station winery next door (they have a fanstastic restaurant as well) Tasting with return of tastings cost if you buy bottles. We ate at the Chateau which was excellent, quality fair. The only drawback was the WiFi in the hotel (hopefully they will address that).

Dirty bath, broken phone, tiny tv, wine glass in room cracked, most of the staff not very friendly. Place is looking tired including gardens. Requested our room to be serviced every day but that didnt happen. Very disappointed NOT a 5 star hotel! Don’t waste your money. Definitely will not go back or recommend to family and friends.

Old fashioned furniture and historic decor does not guarantee 5 star status. Hotel standard actually shy of 4 star status. Vineyard irrelevant to quality of stay. Curtains jammed and not fixed despite 2 requests. Noise of fridge motor amplified by the stylish wooden cupboard in which it was placed. It woke us up every time the motor cut in at night. Numerous lage spiders and webs in hallway, bathroom and bedroom on arrival. I removed them and glad to see that the big ones were non poisonous huntsman spiders. TV screen too small and was fitted in the same cupboard as the fridge. Cockroach or similar beetle kept re-entering room through french windows. Wifi hopeless forcing me to exit the building to deal with important emails - luckily it didn't rain. Unfortunately our room wasn’t cleaned!! We checked in at 4pm. Check in is at 3pm. So we had to disappear for a while so it could be cleaned. Cutting into our time at the hotel. The rooms all need to be updated. I mean who even uses a dvd player anymore??? No decent sized tv in the room and no streaming services? Nescafé instant coffee in the room. Are you serious!! What am I paying all this money for one nights accommodation for? Unfortunately we didn't have a very good experience. On our late arrival home, we were looking forward to a good night's sleep. When we hopped in to the bed my partner discovered that his side of the bed was wet, so he pulled back the sheet the discovered that the mattress protector and the mattress were also wet. He had to take a shower as we were unaware if they were bodily fluids left from the previous guest the night before. My partner ended up sleeping on the couch for the night as this was our only option. Upon check out we were informed that someone would contact us, this hasn't been the case. I have also sent an email that hasn't had a reply and I have left a voice message asking them to return my call, still nothing.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Chateau Yering Hotel which exceeded expectations. The room was large and beautiful with a huge double bath and views of the property. We sat in the Drawing Room in the afternoon and were offered Devonshire tea which was excellent. We then enjoyed a wine tasting at the nearby Yering Station (1 minute walk) and came back for happy hour drinks which were accompanied by historical tales of the place and amazing cocktails to match the era we spoke about by the open fire. Finally we finished the day with a delicious dinner at Eleanore’s Restaurant.

It appears the owners of this “once high-end” property have lost complete interest in their guests. It’s run down, dirty, very poor if any attention from staff. We stayed in the top-end room. The view was beautiful over the Yarra Valley but that was the only positive experience we had. A 24” TV with most free-to-air channels not working is below standard. There was a DVD player and DVD’s could be borrowed from reception but they were from the 80s and 90’s. You’d expect more for a $500+ per night room which wasn’t cleaned properly. The pool was green with algae. A shadow of its past glory.

True to its heritage. Ambience was awesome. You can sense the history of the whole place. Breakfast was good. Opulent interiors. Friendly staff. But wifi was slow. TV was small. No streaming service. Bed sank in the middle and pillows werent firm enough. Seat cushion of chairs around small table inside the room needed replacing. But overall we enjoyed the experience.

Old hotel with a touch of Class, excellent staff. Free parking for residents. Yarra Station winery next door (they have a fanstastic restaurant as well) Tasting with return of tastings cost if you buy bottles. We ate at the Chateau which was excellent, quality fair. The only drawback was the WiFi in the hotel (hopefully they will address that).

Thank you to Phil and his staff for a fabulous stay. Valentines Day dinner was excellent. We appreaciated the extra touches, the shared cocktail, amuse bouche and shared lovers dessert. The staff had allocated an upstairs roomfor us but on realising that I have a walking stick helped immensely by arranging for a donstaurs suite which was superb. very relaxing afternoon then pre-dinner drinks in what we call "the blue room" then into the restaurant for a meal "to die for". It couldn't have got any better but a superb breakfast and a casual checkout albeit a little late but no problems. Amazing, fabrastic and beautiful Valentines day.

Non existence service or regard for your particular situation. While booking I did not realise that this winery could have rooms on higher levels too, the website does not mention that the rooms can be on higher floor with no access to lift. We had to drag our bags to the first floor and it was not something I wanted to do. But there was no other option or even empathy shown to understand that the knee injury could be aggravated. It’s an old building which has its own charm but the staircase is horrendous if you have bags. You go to the reception, via the restaurant, 3 stairs down then 3 stairs up and then via lounge you reach the horribly lit horrendous staircase. There were lots of cleaners who saw us struggling with the bags but just didn’t exchange an eye contact lest they got to help. I could have paid for a bell service if only they had one. What a stunning property! Beautiful heritage building with very large rooms- also with a balcony. Staff were amazing- we sat in the lovely restaurant in the afternoon and asked for an off menu item and they graciously obliged! Breakfast is also great- excellent choice and real coffee! Given the age (and history) of the building it was in fairly good condition. Needs some $$$$ spent on it to bring it up speed and that would make it something quite special again. (A grand old lady). It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff, (all of them) were absolutely amazing (went out of their way to assist) and made it a very pleasant stay for us. Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful, historic property that sadly is looking a little tired and calling out for some TLC. Still a great place to stay with lovely, friendly, helpful staff and nice little extras, particularly the quality toiletries and size of the suites. The food in Eleanor’s Restaurant was good but nothing was served hot - it was just warm which we both felt let it down a little. Breakfast was cooked to order and absolutely delicious every day. Great coffee too 😍 A tasting in the winery is a must!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Chateau Yering Hotel which exceeded expectations. The room was large and beautiful with a huge double bath and views of the property. We sat in the Drawing Room in the afternoon and were offered Devonshire tea which was excellent. We then enjoyed a wine tasting at the nearby Yering Station (1 minute walk) and came back for happy hour drinks which were accompanied by historical tales of the place and amazing cocktails to match the era we spoke about by the open fire. Finally we finished the day with a delicious dinner at Eleanore’s Restaurant.

The property definitely exudes the luxury of days long gone. It’s charming as are the staff. Breakfast is lovely. However the dinner was greatly overrated and overpriced. We felt it tried too hard at being innovative, but missed the mark. The lamb was too fatty and the miso sauce of the salmon was far too salty. Disappointing. On another note one felt every winery, chocolate or cheese factory was a tourist trap. However the eateries in the villages were lovely!

The room was very spacious and lovely, comfortable bed and enough light coming in. Comfortable sofa and chairs. Also a nice little treat in the form of 2 small kitkats and packet of chips. A friendly touch. Beautiful old world hotel but unfortunately the pool is not in action and the tennis court is dilapidated! We nevertheless had fun playing on it. Beautiful big sunny room for breakfast there. They have a library with games and some books and magazines for entertainment. There were only 2 stations however that the television would pick up ABC and SBS. So the antenna needs some work.

Lovely old style building, rooms were nice and warm despite the cold weather and I loved the bath - though it would have been nice to have some bath salts or bubble bath. Soft mattress which I liked but my partner struggled with. The mini wine and kitkats were a nice surprise however we would have liked to know in advance that the restaurant and bar were not open at night especially given it was a long weekend. It was also a shame that the fire was only on for a short time. We would have liked to have sit by it with a night cap before bed. It seems like a missed opportunity for the hotel to not have the restaurant and bar open. Breakfast was great and really good barista! It was also nice to have a complimentary wine tasting next door at Yering Station.
Lovely old style building, rooms were nice and warm despite the cold weather and I loved the bath - though it would have been nice to have some bath salts or bubble bath. Soft mattress which I liked but my partner struggled with. The mini wine and kitkats were a nice surprise however we would have liked to know in advance that the restaurant and bar were not open at night especially given it was a long weekend. It was also a shame that the fire was only on for a short time. We would have liked to have sit by it with a night cap before bed. It seems like a missed opportunity for the hotel to not have the restaurant and bar open. Breakfast was great and really good barista! It was also nice to have a complimentary wine tasting next door at Yering Station.

The room was mostly lit by 'lamps' which all worked from the one switch which was very useful. The only let down was that the TV for some reason was only 'standard definition' which meant it only allowed you to watch the ABC, SBS & Channel 9. Very unusual it's safe to say.
