The Palms Hotel

Very nice property in good condition considering its age. Everything is updated. You get a real feel for old Key West. Very nice breakfast around the pool in the morning

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We had trouble operating the TV, as there were no instructions.

Excelente hotel e localização

We had an upstairs pool view room and it was splendid. The AC was on when we arrived after driving the long way from Miami (needed!) and worked beautifully. It was augmented by a ceiling fan, which was great. Room was small but functional, very light, and comfy. Fridge was great for cold drinks we brought with us. Bed was clean, and pillows were a good in-between (soft and firm). Shower was tiny, and water pressure was a bit light, but it worked and we were fine. The only "concern" we raise is that there is a sign on the bathroom door that says not even toilet paper is allowed to be flushed in the toilet. I recall that as a real issue in small villages in Latin America, but it was a bit of a surprise to see in the US. We were careful with what we put into the commode, but we in fact did flush TP because (eew). Toilet paper was good quality, towels were nice and heavy enough (IOW, not too thin), liquid hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were available and seemed like good quality. The small bar soap smelled iffy (maybe goat milk or olive oil soap?), and the little blow drier was super powerful! We were experiencing unusually hot spring weather in south Florida during our stay, so the pool was fabulous. This is a salt water pool, which is SO COMFOTRTABLE on the skin. LOVED every dip. You will have to ask for beach/pool towels, so don't forget. The chaise lounges are remarkably uncomfortable, unless you're lying flat - they could use pads.
