A wonderful experience, it’s just a shame you can’t walk back to your room in your dressing gown and flip flops after your spa experience. You have to get changed back into the clothes you arrived in before leaving the spa building and crossing over into the hotel.

Excellent hotel. Plenty to do for outdoor activities. Friendly and helpful staff. Only small point to note was Pool a little small and a bit cool as plenty of families.

It is a lovely place. The grounds, gym and spa are excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice. We had a ground floor room. We had to go upstairs to the first floor, along the corridor, down the stairs and along the corridor. This was a bit of a pain. Overall though it was a good stay.

We had a lovely 1 night stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The leisure centre was very noisy and changing rooms were small and no explananation on how to use the locker and wrist band. Had to ask for help. Breakfast was lovely.

We stayed for 1 night and were delighted with the hotel, grounds, facilities and bar / dining experience. The leisure facilities were great and the swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool / sauna / steam room were very clean and a lovely peaceful benefit to our stay. Unfortunately, the Vines Restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. Our evening meal in Redmond's Brasserie was lovely and the full English buffet breakfast the following morning was delicious! The bar staff in Morgan's Bar were very helpful and attentive and the drinks were surprisingly very reasonably priced. The open fires in the bar and seating areas were delightful and welcoming. We can't recommend staying here to anyone enough and would definitely return in the future. The only constructive criticism I wish to offer is that it is that hotel residents should receive a considerably reduced tariff for use of the 'Spa at Carden' facilities, with the option to purchase spa treatments if desired.

From the outset, we had issues with the hotel. They advertised this hotel using photos of the spa (including the outdoor pool etc), but this is not included in the £260 B&B rate for a King View Estate room. When we called to clarify, we were told nothing could be done—even after an assistant manager admitted it was misleading and a case of misrepresentation. Their solution? Offer us spa access at a “discounted” rate of £14—which is actually more than one of the available packages. They claimed the included food in the package makes up the value. So, for both of us, it would cost an extra £198 for just four hours of spa use. The manager even said, “I don’t see why they couldn’t just let you use it to be honest, but it’s not my decision—the other team said no.” When I asked who specifically refused, the response was vague. Suspicious. Then came our dinner. We were hesitant after the spa situation, but gave it a chance. We ordered, waited over 30 minutes, and were finally served—but with the wrong meals. At first, we didn’t realise because the dishes looked so similar. After starting to eat, my partner realised we had been given each other’s food. By that time, half was gone. We didn’t want to wait another 30+ minutes, so while they deducted the charge, one of us was left hungry. It doesn’t feel friendly here—it’s clearly aimed at wealthy guests.

A wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely hotel. All staff very friendly and welcoming, our twin double bed room was very spacious and obviously newly refurbished. Nice to have a fridge in the room, which was restocked daily with bottled water and fresh local milk in little bottles. Breakfast was plentiful with all tastes catered for. We used the Carden Spa, my treatment with Marcella was top notch and the whole spa is fabulous. Our daughter enjoyed many onsite activities including Vertigo, Zip Wire & Segway. The only criticism and I’m being very picky is that the pillows on the beds were high (beds very comfortable though!) but I find this in a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in. A throughly enjoyable stay, we will be back!

The rooms were spacious and spotless, staff were amazing with our toddler (they even called the room when we left his dummy in reception and brought it up for us). Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner at the brasserie was fantastic and breakfast was too. Would definitely stay again without the toddler to use the spa!

If I am honest I found my stay at Carden Park rather underwhelming. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful throughout. The room was a disappointment - very beige, brown, masculine. Bed was very comfortable, with the exception of the pillows. Bathroom was not as luxurious as expected and the shower was a bit feeble. Lunch menu was very limited and expensive for what it was. Carpet in the bar area needed cleaning under the table ( as did the carpet on corridor leading to bedroom). Function meal was rather disappointing with the dessert being inedible ( tough pastry on banoffee pie, no flavour and covered in squirt cream reminiscent of shaving foam). The wine was good. Coffee served after the meal was undrinkable- strong, stewed and bitter. Breakfast was also disappointing. Hot buffet items were cold. Tea wasn’t brewed individually so again was stewed. Poor selection of fruits and cheeses for the Continental Breakfast. Pastries were fine. espresso coffee wasn’t good either and was served in a huge cup. Would I stay again? Probably not unless I was attending a function. Definitely overpriced for a room and was not the luxury experience I was expecting. I didn’t have time to try the spa which I gather has had a lot of money spent on it.

Despite this being our 4th or 5th stay as returning guests, this one will be our last. Complacency has set in. No extra customer service, just the basics. Bedroom was small, dark, carpet old, dents in the wall, bathroom was basic, shampoo watered down, the bed was really very uncomfortable and old. Walls really thin - heard every conversation of people walking past and the family next door. Leisure area and changing rooms were tired, showers had black mould in them and drains were smelly. No food available after 5pm, only crisps at the bar or the a la carte restaurant that has a dress code! We were asked if it was a special occasion, it was our anniversary and we said as much, but nothing else was said or offered. Why even ask us?? Food at breakfast was sub-standard produce, so much so, we left on the 2nd morning ahead of breakfast as we did not want to eat anything there even tho paid for. Noah and Jess in the bar were the BEST PART of the stay, have very good customer care, super personalities, great at their job and a real asset to the hotel. We left sad and disappointed after paying for still a relatively expensive 2-night stay, after looking forward to our anniversary weekend. Will be looking for better places to stay next time we come to Chester where the customer is put first, the rooms are comfortable and the food is good quality. We are sad we felt so disappointed by this stay after previous visits. Totally not worth the money.

Property is on beautiful grounds. Communal areas well kept, clean and well presented. Could not fault staff - all friendly, helpful and keen to please. The rooms let the hotel down. Double beds are small doubles and rooms still feel quite cramped. Not enough points for charging electricals. Have never been a fan of carpet in hotel rooms which this has - hate to think what that carpet is harbouring. Housekeeping was great first night, second night less so - only made beds, no cleaning and didn’t provide a bath mat. Bathrooms appear newly renovated so clean and fresh. Could do with an extra shelf to hold toothbrushes/toothbrush charger. Shower door falls short so prepare for wet floor after showers. No sound insulation. We could clearly hear the people in the room above walking around and using the toilet. Overall good accommodation. If the rooms could be brought up to the standard of the communal areas then would have given it 5 stars.

Driving up to this hotel it definitely had the wow factor. Reception staff were very polite and welcoming, and provided a very high level of customer service. The room itself was beautiful very large, clean and the bed was so comfortable. Evening meal was beautiful and so was breakfast. The only downfall is that this was a short overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning

The grounds and the main part of the hotel were excellent as were the staff. The only disappointment was the fridge in our room the motor of which kept kicking in on a regular basis. This meant that we couldn’t get a proper silent night as the noise of this was quite intrusive. Other than that, it was a good stay.

Weekend escape for two. Was a beautiful hotel and we booked the suite which was lovely. Only draw back was you could only access suites from outside. Fab it wasn’t raining and lovely it was quiet however, not sure I would’ve liked it had weather been different! Room itself was lovely. I requested separate bath tub and shower. Was very spacious and you had complimentary robes and slippers. Room service food was limited and pretty average but it hasn’t put me off coming again. Grounds were beautiful and didn’t realise until after booking it was very child friendly. Def coming again with the kids!

Despite this being our 4th or 5th stay as returning guests, this one will be our last. Complacency has set in. No extra customer service, just the basics. Bedroom was small, dark, carpet old, dents in the wall, bathroom was basic, shampoo watered down, the bed was really very uncomfortable and old. Walls really thin - heard every conversation of people walking past and the family next door. Leisure area and changing rooms were tired, showers had black mould in them and drains were smelly. No food available after 5pm, only crisps at the bar or the a la carte restaurant that has a dress code! We were asked if it was a special occasion, it was our anniversary and we said as much, but nothing else was said or offered. Why even ask us?? Food at breakfast was sub-standard produce, so much so, we left on the 2nd morning ahead of breakfast as we did not want to eat anything there even tho paid for. Noah and Jess in the bar were the BEST PART of the stay, have very good customer care, super personalities, great at their job and a real asset to the hotel. We left sad and disappointed after paying for still a relatively expensive 2-night stay, after looking forward to our anniversary weekend. Will be looking for better places to stay next time we come to Chester where the customer is put first, the rooms are comfortable and the food is good quality. We are sad we felt so disappointed by this stay after previous visits. Totally not worth the money.

Property is on beautiful grounds. Communal areas well kept, clean and well presented. Could not fault staff - all friendly, helpful and keen to please. The rooms let the hotel down. Double beds are small doubles and rooms still feel quite cramped. Not enough points for charging electricals. Have never been a fan of carpet in hotel rooms which this has - hate to think what that carpet is harbouring. Housekeeping was great first night, second night less so - only made beds, no cleaning and didn’t provide a bath mat. Bathrooms appear newly renovated so clean and fresh. Could do with an extra shelf to hold toothbrushes/toothbrush charger. Shower door falls short so prepare for wet floor after showers. No sound insulation. We could clearly hear the people in the room above walking around and using the toilet. Overall good accommodation. If the rooms could be brought up to the standard of the communal areas then would have given it 5 stars.

Driving up to this hotel it definitely had the wow factor. Reception staff were very polite and welcoming, and provided a very high level of customer service. The room itself was beautiful very large, clean and the bed was so comfortable. Evening meal was beautiful and so was breakfast. The only downfall is that this was a short overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning

we had room service and the quality was average at best, we were kept up from 11:30pm to 2:45am with workers loading vans from a function that was on, we phoned reception twice and didn't get any reply.we reported it again on checkout and manager over heard conversation and offered free upgrade on next visit which i suppose is something.

Everything during our stay was absolutely perfect. Room requests were met exactly, our dining option was amended to suit a last minute change of of plans, as was our spa booking. Every member of staff was polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel, bar, restaurants and spa are exceptionally well kept and we'd love to stay again

The rooms were spacious and spotless, staff were amazing with our toddler (they even called the room when we left his dummy in reception and brought it up for us). Nothing was too much trouble. Dinner at the brasserie was fantastic and breakfast was too. Would definitely stay again without the toddler to use the spa!

It was fantastic. Sue (in the Spa) made our stay extra special. Sue went out of her way to give us background on Carden Park Spa, showed us around and really made us feel at home. What a huge asset Sue is to the Carden Park Team (will definitely be back).

Wow! This place is one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff are impeccable. On so many occasions nowadays, the hospitality industry is let down by poor staff with poor customer service skills. This place sets the standards for all hotels. Food is great, rooms are great and the facilities in and around the hotel are fantastic. Will be returning again and again.

Love this hotel. Location snd facilities fantastic. However, we were very close to the linen cupboard at the rear of the property so was a little noisy in the morning when all the deliveries started. Price for food and drink has also shot up, so we probably wouldn’t come back as frequently

Located about 30 mins from Chester centre. The hotel and staff are very friendly and the food is good. Fantastic for golf and the Spa is available if needed (not used). Plenty of free parking and the grounds are stunning and well kept.

We stayed for 1 night and were delighted with the hotel, grounds, facilities and bar / dining experience. The leisure facilities were great and the swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool / sauna / steam room were very clean and a lovely peaceful benefit to our stay. Unfortunately, the Vines Restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. Our evening meal in Redmond's Brasserie was lovely and the full English buffet breakfast the following morning was delicious! The bar staff in Morgan's Bar were very helpful and attentive and the drinks were surprisingly very reasonably priced. The open fires in the bar and seating areas were delightful and welcoming. We can't recommend staying here to anyone enough and would definitely return in the future. The only constructive criticism I wish to offer is that it is that hotel residents should receive a considerably reduced tariff for use of the 'Spa at Carden' facilities, with the option to purchase spa treatments if desired.

Another lovely golf stay at Carden Park. Both courses in great condition. Very friendly and helpful staff both at the Hotel and the Clubhouse/Golf Courses. Also a great place if you don't play golf with the free leisure facilities and beautiful grounds to walk in and the Spa is fabulous.

This was our first visit to the hotel and we were very impressed. Driving up to the hotel through the golf course showed the size of the hotel and leisure facilities. Check-in and the room ( we had a family room) were as you would expect. We tried the golf range and shooting which were very enjoyable. Breakfast was also very tasty and plenty of choice. Overall definitely be returning.

Mixed Review, the place is beautiful! Lovely location, lovely place with friendly helpful staff and large spacious rooms. We had a room with two doubles beds which was nice. We only stayed 1 night and also went to the morning spa that was very nice. The down side, we ate in the Redmans restaurant thinking it would be really good. Unfortunately my partners starter of mushrooms wasn’t very nice and worst of all we both had sirloin steak as a main which was the worst steak we’ve both ever had. It’s a real shame as we were looking forward to the meal. We would stay there again as the place is beautiful but would be extremely cautious about eating there again. Spoilt the night for us to be honest.

Came with my husband and 2 children 4&5) and my inlaws. Husband and father inlaw played golf...they had a fantastic time. Mother in law and i took the children swimming and went to the park. Lots to do wven though the children were too young for the big activities. We couldn't eat at the main restaurant in the evening as there was no space for the 6 of us which was disappointing. I think guests at the hotel should have some sort of priority to dine first. We went to a local pub for our evening meal instead. It was lovely but not ideal. Would have rather stayed on site. Breakfast was delicious. Room was great.

The staff were all absolutely amazing but especially in The Vines restaurant. We had a beautiful meal which was the taster menu and everything was extremely delicate and the flavours were exquisite. Beautifully put together and presented flawlessly by the Vines staff. The manager was amazing and the attention to detail to make sure our every need was met which made our stay very special indeed. Thank you. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff very attentive. The hotel itself is beautiful and you are made to feel so welcome when you arrive. Very helpful staff who were very interested in making our stay amazing. We will definitely book again and take friends and family.

Beautiful place lovely setting, but for me I was unable to eat much on the menu, as I dont eat cheese or spicy food,I know I am not the average person, but I had great difficulty getting a well balanced meal with vegetables, meat & potatoes without cheese added somewhere. for lunch I had to have a soup & toast, for evening meal I had a starter of Duck & pancakes with a salad, I checked no cheese no chilli or spicy dressing on the salad. No I was told definitetly ok for me, what a nightmare for me, salad full of chillies and I did not know until too late. So all I had that night was a tiny leg of duck with some pancakes followed by a Childrens ice cream to calm down my mouth and toungue. Please put some food on your menu that excludes cheese or spicy relishes/sauces. Lunch again was a soup as there was nothing else I could eat. I had a word with one of the managers for next evenings menu & all we could come up with was a plain ommlette. I went to bed each night hungry as there was not much of an alternative for me, surely I am not the only person that visits this lovely place to have problems with the menu? To end on a good note We loved the Segway ride around the grounds, plus the facilities are great.

The hotel was great, clean and warm, plus the grounds were fabulous. The Redmans restaurant was the better place to eat, long wait for food though, as for the Vines restaurant, it was still trying to be fine dining with inexperienced staff and lacked atmosphere and that special touch of finesse, also the food was cold.

Main restaurant was shut. Main after meal drinks area also shut. The childrens play area was..shut. This made the other areas extremely busy None of the above was communicated during check in. No wedding or event... just shut.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, excellent facilities, the vines restaurant was a real treat and a big bonus the we didn’t have to pay to use the spa as the leisure centre had a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool that was free for hotel guests to use.
