A lovely sea view - warm & cosy - small - but everything I needed. The bed was comfy too - nice pillows. Within easy walking distance to the venue - open air auditorium - the sea and the shops. The staff were very friendly & kind. Helped with parking. They were patient. The breakfast was lovely & a offerred a lot of choice.

Excellent location staff lovely room excellent can not say anything else as was all perfect. From booking in car park space reserved to booking out. Only stayed 1 night but wish stayed longer. Thank you.

We came to Scarborough to see Tom Jones. Very close to the arena. Lovely refurbished hotel with lovely welcoming staff. Our room wasnumber 7 on the ground floor. Very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed every bit of our visit even though it was just 1 night staff friendly and helpful only thing wrong was the staff member serving at the bar on the night we were there needs to smile more

Helpful friendly staff. Large clean room with good facilities. Walkable to everything and regular bus sevice to south bay. Near Peaseholm park and sea life centre. You can reserve a parking place at the hotel at an extra cost but you pay for parking everywhere so we were pleased with this. Would definitely stay here again.

Terrible room had to ask for a move dirty towels dirty grout in bathroom dirty marks on wall bedroom window did not open and husband has asthma moved to another room still dirty grout in bathroom food under bed dirty dusty light fitting and old window that only opened an inch won’t stay again

The property is clean & quiet. Breakfast is good. Easy walking to beach & front. We stayed for four night's. Only thing that could have been better is if the bin could have been emptied in our room & maybe a fresh set of towels been put in after two days. Other than that it was great value & totally enjoyed staying there.

I expected a small room but a lot of furniture, fan, extra pillow etc made the space even smaller. Bathroom very clean with everything but small - I have bruised elbows. A daft thing like the bathroom shelf too low to the skin preventing me to wash my face properly (the fitter didn't think it through). I'm not picky, but it's these little things that are a nuisance. Having said this stuff, the hotel was quiet, staff were always helpful and cheerful. It's well within walking distance if all of Scarborough.

Rooms hot as most windows non opening. Fans provided but only move the warm air round. No opening windows in bathroom. But we were in Yorkshire for a hot and sunny week!. Breakfast had no continental option so full or nothing.

The beds are a little uncomfortable, as it’s two singles pushed together with a double mattress on top, and you can feel the wood where the beds meet, the pillows aren’t brilliant either but other than that, it was a pleasant stay!

Room 235 needs new bath, floorboards and be careful when you're in the bath as you bang you're head on the corner of the sink. Staff were very nice and very helpful check in was excellent

The rooms are huge! And as always spotless clean and well equipped. Only grumble was i paid extra for a sea view however while i could see the sea from the windows they were basically at head height so i had to stand to see anything which i feel is a bit misleading

The room was clean and welcoming and had excellent sea views. The receptionist who booked me in I felt like she couldn't be bothered, she gave me a form and asked me to put a context address on it and put my signature in a couple of places, while I was doing Thet she was stood tapping her nails on the reception counter and sighing, I found it uncomfortable, other staff thet I met seemed friendly and polite.

What a shame ... Invest a little on decor and either more staff or refocus the staff on customer service and this incredible building could feel worth it's expensive room rate. Pretty much every initial impression was poor ..reception abrupt with guests, no offer of bag drop or early check in, bar man unwelcoming and potentially overworked.. Room could've been stunning, quirky space with massive windows facing 3 directions giving incredible views from 5th floor across the beach, Victorian tram and the area... Decor ok, sofa in the window, bathroom big space but on one of the hottest days of 22 so far only one window opened a small way....but wouldn't stay open! I get putting A/c in a building this big would be tortuous but windows that open or even some kind of fan and all of a sudden it's all about the views!!! From my experiences this stay it seems that all the ingredients are there for a hotel that celebrates its history and character but is lacking the vision, budget or commitment to excelling customer experience from its leadership that could make it so special. My partner's comment...'if they gave me a free nights stay here I wouldn"t come back'. Maybe this hotel works financially for Brittania as it is.Shame.

We were here for a night at the amphitheater. Best placed hotel for the venue and it ticked all the boxes for us. I would definitely use it again, in fact we are already looking at upcoming events so we can get back down!

We loved the Old-World style of the Hotel the room was small but comfortable and the shower was a challenge. The staff were courteous and very helpville and we enjoyed their attendance. The food was well presented although limited in scale the breakfast was just right.
