Sited in the Beacons in its own grounds, location is just idilic. Plenty of parking with easy access and a warm, friendly welcome on entering reception you do feel like you are privileged just being there. Rooms are large, well appointed and clean. Arriving just after lunch we had a very generous and delicious bar meal and drinks to tide us over to the evening meal booked. Pool and spa facilities are again spotlessly clean, with free towels and robes for residents. Evening meal options to suit all tastes were excellent, with a good selection of wines and quality beers served all surprisingly reasonably priced. Breakfast was part of the room price and again gave excellent selection self serve whilst awaiting you hot breakfast cooked to your preference. As an older building, not everything is perfect and some areas could do with update and/or TLC but this in no way affected our enjoyment and stay. Finally, thanks go to the entire staff who without exception made our stay special from start to finish.

Lovely grounds, lovely upstairs suite, excellent breakfast, great pool area, hot tub not as hot as expected. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay again. Suggest you indicate in advance if you have mobility issues, as we loved being upstairs but did not know in advance.

Overall was a lovely stay as always but was very disappointed to see that the jacuzzi and steam room was out of order as that’s the only reason we went there is for the use of the facilities and a lot of money to find out it was out of order

Booked this as a birthday surprise for my daughter. Spa limited, tired, dated, tiles falling off pool and sauna. Hot tub luke warm Limited towels, have to hire robes even when staying You have to book spa facilities but that was not relayed. Really disappointed with the spa in general. The room was average. But the food was amazing.

If I am honest, this place is tired and in need of a refresh. The restaurant and food served was bad, but the room and the pool area were poor and needed work. Whilst we had a pleasant stay, I'm not sure I would return if I was looking for a stay in the area unless the rooms and pool area has been refreshed (for example, the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, loungers and changing room all need extensive work to get the ok again, and the rooms also need refreshing.

The room was clean ,the staff were very polite and helpful. The extra amenities such as swimming pool and sauna were especially nice.

Excellent pool etc. Nice breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of parking. Short drive to Pen y Fan. Will stay again.

Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Room was clean and comfy. There was some cobwebs in bathroom and on first night accidentally spilt some tea on duvet but this was not changed when room was serviced next morning. But would stay there again the food was very nice and the pool was lovely. Although the building could do with some maintenance. We stayed two nights and had a very pleasant stay.

I found this hotel not worth the price tag at all. The property is clearly lacking in basic maintenance and is very worn down. Cleanliness is also very lacking. Black mould on tiles in the bathroom and the shower head caked in it and all round the window in the bedroom. Dust piled high on most horizontal surfaces. The bedding and beds need replacing as the bedding and mattress were so thin and uncomfortable it was difficult to sleep. Carpets worn through and in other areas duct taped together. Rendering, facias and guttering falling off outside, plaster and coving coming away inside. This hotel would benefit from a major refurbishment.

The room was very tired, patches of paint missing from the walls, old furniture. The bathroom really needed redecorating, paint peeling from wood, old silicon missing and dark in colour. The spa was also tired with bits of tiles missing from the jacuzzi. No extra towels were available for spa usage. With all that, the Staff were extremely lovely and we had an ok stay. The room was clean. It was in a lovely setting and with some basic decorating this would be a super place.

Our dinner at this hotel was very disappointing, and the room was tired and dirty. We wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay here again. The hotel and restaurant had received high ratings on Expedia and Trip Advisor, but both were a big letdown. We stayed with our one-year-old and initially had a family room, but we opted for a quieter room at the back. The staff were friendly and helpful, but that was where the positives ended. The room was basic and had questionable marks all over it. There were brown stains on the ironing board that wiped clean, but there were also marks on the curtains, lampshade, walls, and ceiling. The en-suite bathroom looked like it had been repaired by an amateur, with plaster and grout marks that were very visible. The sofa looked tired and dirty, and there were numerous dead spiders that hadn’t been cleaned or removed. Thankfully, the bedding was fresh and clean. The restaurant and dinner were also below average. Wetherspoons would have been a better quality and value option. The total cost for two mains and one side was £56, which would be reasonable if the meals had been of a decent standard. The full lemon sole cost £30 and was small. It came with a grilled half lemon and spicy butter, but the butter wasn’t evenly spread on the fish. The side serving of veg was overpriced at £4.50 and consisted of two stale asparagus stalks, two slices of courgette, and the rest of hard carrot batons. The Nant Ddu lodge is perfectly located on the Cambrian way road trip. The front of house area is new and every staff member i met were fantastic. The room was very dated and the bathroom needed a refit. Everything was clean but the bath looked grubby because of its age. Food was fantastic.

Lovely property. I did t use any spa services so can’t comment on that feature. My room smelled a bit stall but open windows for a couple hours cured that. Hand shower wasn’t ideal and toilet required perseverance for a proper flush. Bar and restaurant staff were absolutely amazing with their professional conduct and friendliness. Breakfast was awesome.

So the room was very basic, which is okay, I wasn't expecting alot for the price I paid. However, the issue was mostly in the bathroom. Bath with shower attached, no curtains and..... No holder for the shower head. It meant I had to shower with one hand holding the shower head. Absolutely ridiculous 🙄. Went to the restaurant for my evening meal, the food was nice but overpriced, especially considering the portion sizes. Also, my noodles were cold.

I've stayed in this hotel in the past because the location right in the middle of the Brecon Beacons is perfect and gives you easy access to all the great hiking to be found here. What has disappointed this time is the deterioration in the hotel, there really has been a lake of investment and it's looking very tired. The room that I had was very uncomfortable with bed springs coming through and poor furnishings, not having a shower in this day and age is surprising. That said the staff were very pleasant and the food was good.

I stayed in room 11 which was a lovely big room. It was next to the extraction fan of the kitchen which was noisy. It did not affect my sleep as it was turned off at around 9:30 ish when the kitchen was closed.

Oh boy. The room can most generously be described as "spartan." The en-suite was laughable. Warped floor, lino peeling... Not even a real shower enclosure. A grubby shower curtain. That's not even the worst bit. Mould, and plenty of it, all around the shower head. The walls of the room are paper thin. You can hear everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) your neighbours are doing or talking about. Needless to say, that includes the TV. It's honestly like there isn't a wall there at all. Arrived to breakfast, and barked at by a member of staff for sitting at a table not set for breakfast, after being invited to sit "anywhere." Literally, the only difference is that table had a wine glass set on it as opposed to a coffee cup. Breakfast, if you don't want anything cooked, is a selection of supermarket pastries, or a small box of cereal. Topping it off, is checking out. Not even asking how our stay was. Just... "thanks." No "hope you enjoyed your stay." Nothing. How they have the audacity to class themselves as a spa is beyond me. It genuinely felt on par with Fawlty Towers. Without doubt, the worst hotel I've stayed in in the UK.

The value for money at this property is incredible - staff friendly, breakfast delicious and generous, rooms spacious, free access to gym and spa facilities, and an onsite restaurant and pub mean its very handy for food. I would definitely come back. However, the property is a bit run down, and the reception desk was abandoned most of the time - just go around to the pub and they'll help. Still exceptionally good value, and recommended.

The Staff are always brilliant at The Nant Ddu Lodge. They are friendly, courteous and always willing to help. We love coming here, this is where we come to chill and also catch up on our paperwork and prepare for when we go back home. The room we had this time was a new one on us, but we loved it and hope we can stay in it again. Thank you all for making our stay as great as always. Oh and the food is yum😋.

Lovely hotel and spa . Friendly staff and great breakfast . My only negative was that on check in asked if we could book a table for dinner , advised fully booked so asked about a taxi to go and eat else where . Luckily popped into bar for a drink and told that we could eat the same menu in the bar . Feel this was important info to be given on check in !! We did eat in the bar and food was fab .

We were disappointed that the master suite accommodation we had booked for our wedding anniversary was nothing like the rooms advertised. Filthy windows, cigarette ends in the balcony, a broken TV, rusty fridge (with some out of date contents left in there), mouldy grout in the bathroom and a broken shower heat dial which only allowed scorching water too hot to stand under. The spa facilities had broken tiles, dirty drains and rusty pipes and the outside of the property looked run down with peeling paint. The staff were lovely and helpful and we enjoyed the meals so we can't understand why other aspects were so poor. We also highlighted some issues to the receptionist when we were there as well as writing to them since but we have not received a reply. We feel naive in thinking issues raised previously would have been dealt with - we'd have thought customer satisfaction would be vital in this industry so why would you not address them? I would not usually publicly leave a review like this but I wouldn't want others to be frustrated and feel cheated like we did because not enough people stated the reality.

We arrived as a last minute stay for a sunrise hike for Pen Y Fan on a winters night. The hotel is a 5 min drive from the national trust car park from where everyone ascends so a perfect location for anyone exploring the Brecons. As with some of the other comments, the hotel was dated and in need of a refresh. The pool facilities were fine, though the hot tub wasn’t bubbling, or overly warm on our stay. However, the hotel staff were superb! They were super friendly, attentive and couldn’t help you enough. We found this with everyone we spoke with. The dinner (chicken and bacon in Stilton sauce) was incredible and the breakfast was a standard buffet continental and a cooked to order dish, all of which was perfect for what we needed. Certainly worth staying if exploring the Brecons for a weekend.

At first I was hesitant about booking to stay at Nant Ddu lodge hotel due to some of the reviews I have read. However upon arrival I was extremely impressed with this hotel, the staff on the reception were super helpful and friendly, the room and bathroom was beautiful, lovely and clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was great, great selection of cold foods as well as hot. The hotel is in a fantastic location, only a 5 minute drive from Pen Y Fan and very local to the four waterfall walk which was awesome. The spa was lovely, pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi was most enjoyable and very clean. Overall super impressed with our 3 night stay and will definitely be returning.

Dated, spa really shabby and mouldy. Restaurant super slow and rally not worth the price ( garlic brioche over cooked in microwave and came burned, pork loin was not a loin etc...)

In the main all I ask for in a hotel is to be clean and safe. But occasionally I encounter a hotel that deserves praise. We stayed for two nights. The room was large and comfortable. Staff throughout the hotel were efficient and courteous. Breakfast was good, dinner even better. Add complimentary access to the pool, jacuzzi and sauna and the result is amazing value. Thoroughly recommended.
