Oneida Community Mansion House

I love the historical aspect of this hotel. The grounds and gardens are beautiful.

Property is comfortable and clean — no big extras, but all the basics are there. What is exceptional, however, is the access to Oneida history, the enthusiasm of the staff, and the amazing grounds. Definitely feels like a special experience, not just a hotel stay!

THIS WAS A VERY UNIQUE PROPERTY THAT DOUBLES AS A HOTEL. LOTS OF HISTORY, A MUSEUM, LIBRARY AND PLACES AND GROUNDS TO EXPLORE.

The Oneida Community Mansion House makes for a unique and very interesting stay. This is not a typical hotel or Bed and Breakfast experience. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and very quiet. The grounds are lush and park-like. The Mansion provides a look into utopian life in a setting full of ambiance and history. To take full advantage of the site, plan for time to explore and learn from this part of the American story.

What a unique B & B experience. The history of the house, combined with the library and the self-guided and guided tours made this an amazing experience. Highly recommended to anyone who loves history, libraries and those visiting families at Oneida Hospital and want a quiet place to decompress. Also, the staff is simply outstanding.

We stayed here for a concert at turning stone and it was super cool! Clean, warm, and cozy. Super historic, has a little museum and you can tour the mansion. Highly recommend!!!

If you are looking for a charming, interesting, and perhaps odd hotel, this is a great place. We were on a college trip, and I didn't want a standard, cookie-cutter hotel room. I knew a bit about the Oneida utopian community, and I assumed this was a converted mansion and would feel like a hotel or B&B, but this is a combination museum/apartment complex with a few hotel rooms. You can clearly see and feel that this was a utopian community (let's be honest - we would call this a cult today.) As a guest, I could visit the museum for free, and it was fascinating. Meeting rooms, the library, museum rooms, etc. are all open to see. The library is open all night and is filled with a variety of books. Our room had two beds, wildly tall windows, and a nice, huge bathroom. It definitely feels unique but also comfortable. I can't remember if there was a TV, but they leave a book for you to take home by someone who grew up in the community and ended up running the Oneida utensil company. Parking was easy, and you are in the middle of a lovely, safe, suburban area. The hotel is near the town that the Oneida company started, so you could also drive through there if you are interested in the company/community history. The staff are very nice and helpful and called to confirm my reservation. They also have a cute, tiny store where my daughter bought some jewelry made from Oneida utensils. We ate at a restaurant a 10 min drive away.

This was a unique experience. The history of the place is fascinating. Architecturally its an authentic 150 year old mansion and very well preserved. They do have TV and wifi and an elevator, but dont expect modern. Breakfast was basic muffins & oatmeal. It would be nice if they had an actual restaurant. There are lovely gardens, but not much around the area. If You ever wanted to stay in a 200 room 19th century mansion this is it. There were not many guests so much of the place was empty and looks much the way it did 100 years ago. We loved it.

Of historical interest, in process of renovation, quaint large comfortable rooms. Large grounds, interesting museum on site about the mansion's own story.

The queen bed is very comfortable! The grounds and history of the building are an added bonus. We will definitely return.

The cleanliness was average. The room furniture and amenities were lower quality from I was expecting.

It’s an interesting place to tour based in the history of this weird utopian community that once dwelled here. The hotel sleeping rooms are ok and fairly comfortable but much of the place seems under renovations. There were spiders in our bathroom. Bed was comfortable . Staff is polite and they serve an adequate breakfast.

The history of the property is very interesting. I wish we had more time to explore and to take the tour. Our room was very large, clean, and comfortable. Our bathroom was very clean. The shower was a bit too small, but new and clean. We would definitely stay again.

Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Took me to my room and also located a better pillow for me. I knew it was an old historic building but I forgot what comes along with that. Loud radiators that took awhile to get a good temperature. Two nights I didn’t need the radiator but having the windows open was also noisy as they were banging against the frame in the wind. Not sure if I would stay here again, but it was a great location for my needs.

Fun to stay in a place with so much history, literally staying in a museum. Rooms are stunning but be aware that this is a historic mansion so there are some quirks. Bathrooms with 14-foot ceilings take a while to heat up!

Convenient to where we were going (Turning Stone). Beautiful gardens, historical building. Needs new beds!!!! Could not close blinds in bathroom due to being short. Need to lower. Did have coffee and mini fridge in room which was nice.

Historic house offered a lot of info to explore that was good, but also sound travels— two nights in a row (entire length of our stay), private residence above was up and moving around very late/very early and woke us up with footsteps and what sounded like moving furniture.

Fun place especially if your into Historical buildings. Clean and comfortable room. A tad small but very functional. I will stay again.

Didn't get the room I reserved. Room was unbearably hot, but a fan was provided. Not the type of hotel for everyone.

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights and we loved the historical features of the mansion. Our room and the other guest rooms are beautiful and have a nice view of the property. The library was one of our favorite parts. Late check in was a bit complicated but I’m happy they were able to accommodate us. I would love to stay here again!

The women in the office were great to deal with. I was able to reach them immediately via cell a few times without any issues. Due to the global IT crowdstrike issue, all other hotels showed as unavailable, even after calling repeatedly and getting circled around between automated and live personnel.

Staff made us a special breakfast to go because we left before they were open.

A unique property which is very pleasant to visit again and again. We also appreciate its proximity to the dining area of the golf club.

I’ve stayed here before with my wife on a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the history of the house and area. I stayed here this trip on my way to a meeting in Syracuse. The house and grounds are very peaceful.

Continental breakfast, that was included, was really offensive. There even were no options of milk, just half & half The administration of hotel should take a close look at this important part of the service!

Great stay at the Mansion House. Our room was absolutely beautiful and so clean and spacious. The mattress was a little too soft for my personal taste but my husband loved it. The continental breakfast the next morning was tasty, with nice breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, greek yogurt, coffee and juice.
