This is our new favorite place to stop over in Bakersfield! Despite the nondescript exterior, this is a very nicely updated property. Very clean, comfortable and modern inside. Breakfast options are modest, but ice water, coffee and tea are available any time and they offered us fresh baked cookies at check-in. The large pool is one of the best features.

Trip was great with one exception: I was looking forward to the hot tub (having knee problems) and it was out of order and we were not told until we went to get in and found it taped off.

This hotel is a favorite for the pool size, and it’s 9ft deep which is hard to find nowadays! The rooms are clean and mostly all rooms have a pool view and outside patio which I enjoy having my morning coffee in. Highly recommended!

I booked this place being there’s a jacuzzi. Only to find out there was no heat for it when I went in. Asked the front desk and they apologized but would be fix end of week which doesn’t help being I’m leaving the next day. Not happy about that

The property had a really nice pool that was maintained well and sparkling clean. It also has the best workout facility I've ever been in at a hotel that wasn't a resort. All top notch new machines... plenty of them with all mats, balls, weights you need for your daily routine.

Thank you to GM Flor Campuzano for comping our stay. LOVED the pool & the towering palm trees....the hot tub was dirty unfortunately....and also had to deal with cockroaches in our room....not fun, but Flor made it right - and appreciate her doing that.

First room had a heavy musty smell. Sexond room was not so strong but still musty. Smell went away when we turned off the AC and just ran the fan. They need to clean thei AC systems. We never felt entirely safe as the sliding glass door to the patio would not lock and the rigged alternative lock did not.make us feel safe (see picture). Just fix the locks on your doors. Workman propped the door from the parking lot to the room hallways. Whats the point of card access through external doors if doors are propped open? The card keys did not initially work and then stopped working again on our last night. Made several visits to the front desk to deal with card key issues. People were nice enough but maintenance and safety issues will prevent us from staying again.

Room was nice. Had earwigs in the bathroom. Bathtub stopper missing. Lobby was big but empty the breakfast had these strange chairs with what looked like gold anodized beer kegs so limited seating and only enough room on those stupid little barrels for on cup of coffee. Also no elevator so access to second floor is not available for fiscally challenged. Outside was well lit but there were large numbers of homeless at back of property between parking lot fence and freeway.

The good: hotel is clean and well maintained. The stuff is super nice. Hotel location is good. It’s quite and safe around the hotel. The not so good: the bathtub is slippery, not safe to standing during showers. A/C is loud. Breakfast is free but only bread and coffee.

Overall great hotel especially for the price. There is no elevators to the second floor which is annoying with bags. The staff are very friendly. The bed is very comfortable and the room is clean . Microwave and fridge in the room but coffee and water is in the lobby. Only anoyances is the door to the balconey is old and gets stuck. Also watch your shins the bedframe is sharp and bruised both my shins.

Great service and property. It has 2 floors and this it lacks an elevator. I stayed in the first floor and our room faced the pool and had a nice outdoor space. Very clean. The one thing that didn’t suit me was the softness of the mattress. I’m used to former mattresses and that made sleep difficult for me. But otherwise a great pick

I want to encourage people to give this hotel a chance. It is a great value for your trip. It is apparent that the hotel is trying to upgrade and elevate itself. So there are some things that may seem off but cleanliness and staff was perfect. And to me thats paramount. I hope to see them continue investing in themselves and will stay here again. Rooms were large. Property was quiet, and staff friendly.

Check in was fast and friendly. Our room was on the second floor. We got a junior suit. One room had a king bed and the other room had a fold out couch. Had to call for bedding for the fold out. Just so everyone knows, the bathroom inside the room with the king bed has a large window where you could see everything that’s going on inside the bathroom. We are happy there was a private bathroom in the other room. For a moment we thought we were going to have to do our business with everybody watching. Bed was firm and very minimal with the furnishings. Balcony was nice. Had sliding glass doors opening up from both rooms to one large balcony. Didn't have time to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. The breakfast was awful. The coffee machine didn’t work and they had to keep coming out to fix it. The breakfast was just small Little Debbie type muffins that were old and dry, coffee and juice. There was also orange juice and oatmeal packets but no where to sit to eat. Online check out was easy to use. Overall the motel was older and could have been more comfortable to relax in but we were just there to sleep and shower so I guess it served its purpose.

The Room was great - Balcony overlooking the pool was awesome. Did not have the ability to charge the room for snack shop items and the coffee in the morning was not the best. No elevator in the building - ALL MINOR but the room was super nice and made up for all of that on a one night stay.

This place was appalling. I use a cane, and they put me on the second floor in the back of the building. There was no elevator. I talked to the manager about it, and he just laughed. He said that the hotel was built before 1970 so that they were exempt. Really? I also said that they claim they serve breakfast, and they did not. He said their kitchen wasn’t open. It would be in a couple weeks. Zero empathy. The room was OK, but you could not pay me to stay here again.

Front desk was helpful when packages arrived. Parking and space was plentiful and allowed our group to spread out. However, housekeeping was horrible. Our group of 8 checked in on Sunday and all of us did not receive room cleaning until Friday. We were told room cleaning was every 3 days or by request. We requested it on the 2nd day but still no room cleaning. We requested new towels and they never arrived until we called again later that evening to request them again. We were all out before the crack of dawn and came back late into the evening and always came back to a dirty room, until the last night of our stay.

Plenty of parking, quiet and secure. Sheets were a bit stiff but I'm a snob about that kind of thing. I slept well, regardless. The continental breakfast is a continental breakfast! It's fine. Plenty of Danish, fruit, juice and coffee. The water dispenser was a plus as well. One thing that stood out to me was the professionalism of the staff. It was bordering, dare I say, warmth? Everyone I passed acknowledged me and greeted me with a, "Good morning" salutation. It may be a small thing but it matters, and I appreciate it. I look forward to staying here on future trips to Bakersfield and have no problem recommending.

I had a reservation last night at this hotel. We arrived shortly after a power outage around 4pm. We understand that things happen and went and entertained oitlrselves for over three hours. Upon return, the power was on, but the front desk attendant was alone and not trained to handle the fact that nobody could access their rooms with key-cards. We also were given a key that would not work. After ove an hour of waiting I asked if there was a manager on call? I was told that the manager was contacted with no response by the poor clerk that said this was her first time being left alone. The hotel had one representative, all alone, dealing with a situation that she never should have had to deal with by herself. We needed rest before our continued travels so we left and very quickly accessed a nice room at the Doubletree around the corner. Today i did receive a response from the GM who I emailed last night. It was a total cop out that lacked a single shred of accountability. She left her team member high and dry, and alll she could say is that the outage was out of her control. What was within her control was either hetting herself to the property to help or finding another tem member to assist. Instead, the GM left the hotel and her limited staff in an impossible situation. Im sure that my bisiness is not the last that will be a loss for this hotel with such poor management.

Staff was really nice until checkout. They entered our room around 10 am when check out is at 11 am. Although apologetic, very awkward. It wasn't even for housekeeping. The front desk staff was rude during check out. But the check in process at night was easy and the guy was very nice. So it depends on who you get. They were painting and doing maintenance in front of our room during our stay which wasn't too bothersome but I can see it can be. They start at 8-9am and are very loud. But we were awake luckily beforehand. Lots of nicks on walls and water damage on the ceiling. But the pool was nice and breakfast was nice as well. Grab and go breakfast rather than a continental. Room was very spacious.

I was double charged and they couldn't resolve it, that it would take about week to get my money back. I was only pose to be charged or $ 100 hold for the deposit. Cleaner rooms and better lighting and adjustable TV settings. Tv was way too bright at night and volume was overly loud but not clear and understandable.

I got to the hotel and he saw that I was limping. I told him about my knee surgery and he put me on the bottom floor right next to everything greatly appreciated. I've been to a lot of hotels over the past years. No one has ever offered to do that for me without me.Asking great customer service.

The stay was nice . I was told I had to pay a 150.00 security deposit . I put my card in and it was denied. So I put in another card and it went through . I contacted the hotel about the deposit . They sent me a email saying my deposit didn't go through . They sent me the 1st one . But they are covering up the second one that did went through . They said it takes 24 to 48 hours for refund I I checked out on the 28th and it's now the 3rd still no deposit refund if I don't get my refund on the deposit I will contact the district attorneys office fraud division.

I really wanted to like this location as I saw it had good reviews and we were only staying for one night. The room was clean, staff were friendly when we checked in, and we had a choice to stay on the first or second floor (although there is no elevator). When we arrived and parked, there was also a security guard standing in the lot, so it felt safe for the location. However, around 3am we were woken up by arguing next door to us which was pretty disruptive. We then got up the next morning at 8am to leave to find every car in the parking lot (about 10 total) has their rear tire slashed and a police report on our windshields. Very inconvenient and we were not able to receive a refund/discount for this situation from the hotel. The property itself was not bad- I would just say not the safest from my experience.

What a fabulous hotel. Very friendly staff, amazing pool and even has laundry facilities which was great as on round trip. Pool was super quiet during day so we took the opportunity to chill for the day. Great location on outskirts of Bakersfield. We have used it as stop off from National parks before travelling onto Las Vegas. Would 100% recommend staying. Amble free parking

The area felt very unsafe. I was concerned about my vehicle while i slept. The bed was comfortable, room was fine. Coffee machibe in the lobby didnt actually work. They'd be better off paying someone to fill a thermous periodically than relying on a piece of garbage that brews brown water.

Common areas were nicely kept up, breakfast was simple but of good quality, but many opened to the outside, which was not so comfortable in the summer heat. The front of the building is in nice shape, but the rest of the exterior looks a bit tired / unused / boarded up. Location is extremely convenient, if a bit bleak.

I loved getting up early and gasing up at the Costco across the street. Freeway access was excellent, very nice location. My wife didn't like the coffee and she's a big coffee drinker, other than that the breakfast was okay. Entry trash cans were full and over flowing, probably from the guests.

Their “breakfast” should not be advertised as a breakfast. There is no actual breakfast service - just a couple of low-quality pastries, a small selection of cold cereals, and yogurt cups. Laughable. Pool was too murky to actually swim in.

The room was clean and up to date with a fridge and microwave. The was no coffer maker in the room, (big deal). Also the so called breakfast is nothing more that old orange and bearclaw that you purchase at 711. The hotel was very nice as was the staff. I like how the pool was in the center of the complex with patios for the rooms. The room itself was very spacious and clean. Breakfast the next morning was simple but very good and convenient: breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juices, coffee and tea, and pastries. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Check in was fast and friendly. Our room was on the second floor. We got a junior suit. One room had a king bed and the other room had a fold out couch. Had to call for bedding for the fold out. Just so everyone knows, the bathroom inside the room with the king bed has a large window where you could see everything that’s going on inside the bathroom. We are happy there was a private bathroom in the other room. For a moment we thought we were going to have to do our business with everybody watching. Bed was firm and very minimal with the furnishings. Balcony was nice. Had sliding glass doors opening up from both rooms to one large balcony. Didn't have time to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. The breakfast was awful. The coffee machine didn’t work and they had to keep coming out to fix it. The breakfast was just small Little Debbie type muffins that were old and dry, coffee and juice. There was also orange juice and oatmeal packets but no where to sit to eat. Online check out was easy to use. Overall the motel was older and could have been more comfortable to relax in but we were just there to sleep and shower so I guess it served its purpose.

This place gets a ten out of ten except the breakfast. It was not good. All our other hotels were fantastic and sent you off on your travels satisfied. This place had a lousy breakfast. I would highly recommend the hotel, but warn people not to expect too much of the food

I was a little disappointed with the breakfast area. There wasn’t many choices. It was really small and I had to keep requesting the staff to refill some breakfast items that were missing to begin with
