Lake City Motel

The advertised pictures must be photoshopped because the rooms don’t look nice and modern like that at all, instead old, outdated and in need of renovation and repairs. It’s advertised to have 24h staff to check-in but when we called to say we will check in late evening we were told it’s not possible because nobody will be there. When asked for solution was told to arrive before a certain time, which was of course not possible for us. Were then told our booking was anyway missing information and we have no guarantee for the room we booked. Eventually we were told someone will be there but it didn’t give a great feeling and worried us to maybe needing to find a different place last minute. Stayed twice at the motel and both rooms looked much more basic, outdated and could use a renovation. Our second visit the room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. Our throat hurt from it. Asked for another room but it also smelled bad. Not all electric outlets worked. Walls could use cleaning and a fresh paint. There was a scary guy yelling all night in the parking lot of the motel and a car beeping. Hard to sleep. Overall we will certainly try to avoid staying there again. One positive: it was cleaned well in all areas and very cheap.

Not as expected

Room was cold with no way to adjust the temperature. Tub faucet leaked all night. It was stressed that the hotel was non smoking, but the room had the lingering scent of smoke. A bit creepy feeling.

Everything was good
