It was ok. Nothing exceptional or luxury. The spa room was hot and badly needed ventilation. The chemical fumes stung my eyes and I needed to leave. Probably a bit over priced.

No information was provided re car parking options when booking. When we arrived exhausted from travel - Check in complicated for a car guest. Had to drive to entrance. After trying to get a response on the intercom had to drive aside and Stop aside and go to office - check in and pay $30 parking and then go down to car and try find a place to park - signage in park also very poor. Room ok - surprisingly there was coffee/tea making facilities but no biscuits! Mini fridge was empty!

You certainly pay for the location not the accommodation! For a 4.5 ⭐️ Hotel with rates north of $300 P/N it fell way short of our expectations more inline with the 3.5⭐️ Ibis down the road. Receipt was efficient and friendly but as soon as we entered the lift it all went down hill the lift walls & doors were putrid and cracked tiles on exit. The room was OK we upgraded to a harbour view room but the windows were cover in salt so that was a waste. The carpet to me looked grotty or bad choice of colour? The safe had been smashed open, destroyed and unusable but the bathroom was OK though! But minibar was empty. We booked the inclusive breakfast deal but when we were seated we given a limited option on extra’s food was tasty but we declined the self serve coffee and left for the cafe next door as the AC vents were dripping condensation on us from slimy mouldy vents in the ceiling. Sad really whether it’s a result of the COVID downturn or just bad maintenance it poorly reflected its 4.5⭐️ Rating and although it is beachside you wouldn’t know from inside as view are restricted to a few overpriced rooms and limited vista’s

The hotel is in a great location at Newcastle Beach close to restaurants and shops. The area is very walkable. They only ever seemed to have one person at the front desk and when we checked in there was no help with the bags other than pointing out the baggage cart. When we asked for help with the bags we were told that we would have to wait 45 minutes for any help (from the car to the room). The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. There was a nasty stain on the bed cover and in the three days I stayed at the hotel, the bed cover was not changed and it was clear that no one inspected it or they surely would have changed it. Also, washing of the coffee cups in the room was totally inadequate. There were coffee stains on the outside the the mugs that were presented as clean and ready for use.

The room was disgusting,we could smell dampness and urine , mould on curtains and in toilet/shower .complained 2 and a half days eventually moved to another room still small smell of dampness still not that clean. Should have moved hotel but in good area for us. For the price of hotel not worth it. Do have photos of grime ,mould and an inch of dust under bed and centimetre of dust on fan inlet.all in all bad experience

Love the location and have stayed previously and had a lovely time. The service this time was terrible and exacerbated simple problems that could have been easily solved. A couple of times we were told (having arrived on Friday evening, that the issue couldn't be addressed until Monday. We were staying 4 nights at $200 a night, and that nothing could be done until our last day seemed ridiculous (couldn't fix in the internet in our room, didn't replace a phone handset that was broken (had to call reception from my mobile), curtains in the room with internet didn't fit the windows (too short and too narrow)).

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is great, but the ocean view balcony room we booked was in fact a room looking directly into an office building with a slight view of the water over top of the office building. The office staff were very visible to us and had a direct view to our room which was very unnerving. The balcony was also locked and not useable. The room also had a musty/cleaning product smell that was very noticeable. These items unfortunately made our stay at Novotel disappointing, despite the extremely nice front desk staff and great area the hotel is located in. The room we were in should be properly advertised and not over-sold. We would not have paid as much as we did had we known the actual situation.

Nice new carpet on the 5th floor glad to see they are keeping up with the refurbs. The beds are always so comfortable and the pillows too. Very nice staff and excellent location right near the beach and the Newcastle saltwater pool!

All round very good. Great location, close to beach and quiet. Surprisingly good bistro restaurant at the hotel and had a lovely meal the one night we stayed and then buffet breakfast the morning we left. Will be back.

Inget märkligt hotell. Vet inte om det är värt pengarna. Det var problem med rummet fönster som var inte tät. Fläkt ljudets brus gjorde att det var svårt att sova. Det tog 2 dagar att byta ett annat rum. Rummet receptionen erbjöd hade samma problem. Frukosten var enkel. Inget gott fanns. Samma sorts frukost som var inte så nyttigt. Nära till stranden.

We stayed 2 nights, the room was nice, clean and it was refreshing to stay in a hotel that had a shower that didnt flood the bathroom floor for a change. We got in later on the first night but were still able to get a really nice meal in the restaurant at 8:30pm. Our only gripe was the lack of a smart TV.
