B&B Manoir Mon Calme

This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I've ever had. We arrived around 1:30 a.m. after a long day of travelling and immediately had issues finding parking. Once we finally parked, we realized this wasn't really a hotel—it felt more like an old townhouse. Getting to the room meant carrying multiple heavy suitcases and food up two long, steep, narrow flights of stairs. By the time we reached the room, we were exhausted. When we went inside, there was a huge spider crawling across the ceiling. The ceilings were so high there was no realistic way to deal with it. The room itself looked run-down, poorly maintained, and extremely outdated. The bed was also incredibly uncomfortable. For over $260 a night, this was completely unacceptable. We contacted customer service around 2 a.m., hoping they could help, but they simply told us they weren't the owner and couldn't do much. That left us with no choice but to leave which we informed the customer service agent of. We carried everything back down the stairs and had to search for another hotel in Quebec City in the middle of the night, paying much more than we planned because we had no other option. I would never stay here again and would not recommend this property to anyone. We were charged a night before our stay. We left and have yet to see any payments be refunded.

We got the 3rd floor room for 2 nights. Parked in back for $25/night. Very steep, treacherous, rotten stairs to get to the room. Near the top of stairs, had to duck under a plastic tape. Why? Upon entry to the room, there was a strong, unpleasant smell similar to a dirty men’s urinal. A dirty toilet bowl brush with bits of toilet paper stuck to it in plain view. The tub had vinyl tape on it to hide mold. Two steps to get to toilet. Why? Sheets on bed were remarkably clean. No coffee machine or fridge in room. Rather it was in the hall to be shared. Not a Keurig but a simple coffee maker. Meaning if a guest made coffee, you would have to wait before you could make yours. There were bank type cameras watching you in the hall making coffee. The front steps to enter the building were made of wood. The top two stairs had two extra planks making them higher than the others. I tripped on it. There is a hand written warning on them. Hard to see. Why? Someone must have screwed up making the stairs. In reading previous reviews of three years ago, same complaints, nothing has been done. OMG! I could say, pay less expect less but this place was terrible and overpriced. Good location though.

Hotel was not as nice as photos looked. Had a smell and was quite dated. I had to ask staff to clean toilet again.

Great location! Clean and very quaint.

Room was large, comfortable, clean however there was a sour mildew smell from the bathroom. I like to stay in B and B's to meet the people who live in the area. In this case the host did not want to see the clients. Keys in a lock box, drop when you leave. However the host did communicate when further information was required, and the location was perfect.
