I booked this hotel for Friday June 9, 2023. On June 8, 2023 I had a missed call from the hotel and voicemail message stating that they were going to go ahead and charge my credit card for the booking and they did. I have never had a hotel charge my credit card a day in advance of my booking and I selected the option on Hotels.com to pay AT the hotel. The morning of Jun 10 there was a huge cockroach crawling around the bathroom. I tried to kill it and it got away. I immediately tried to call the front desk and hotel phone didn’t work. I called from my cell phone to let them know. I talked to Valerie at the front desk and she said she would let her manager know. I also killed another strange bug that was crawling on the bed comforter and took it to the front desk, again Valerie acted like there was no issue. I tried to use the fitness room and the treadmill is broken. Upon checkout I brought up these issues again and the front desk was very nonchalant about it all, as if pest issues are a commonplace there. Such a shame, that was a nice hotel at one time, and it unfortunately the only one in town. They could have at least offered a discount on my stay.

I did not eat the breakfast as we had plans. My family and I have stayed here in years past for the Hills of Home festival and it was super nice and clean. For those reasons, I decided to book again. This time, the carpets are very dirty. Especially in the elevator. None of it looks like it’s ever been cleaned. The staff however, were super friendly and informative on local eats, etc. Also, My kids were sad to hear that the cat passed away!

We are a military family and have stayed in countless hotels across the country. This is probably the best one we've stayed in. Everyone working there was so incredibly warm and friendly! We got a little 'welcome home' every time we walked in. The entire hotel was incredibly clean. The beds were super soft and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection. And the bonus of the resident hotel kitty was just the cherry on top!

The staff were warm and welcoming. The room next to us had a dog left alone inside the room and he kept barking with another dog down the hall but the staff found the owners and had them come back and then called me to let me know that which I appreciated.

We had an event in nearby, Norton and this was definitely the place to stay! It was about 25 minutes away, but well worth it! Clean rooms, great and friendly staff! They even opened the breakfast a little early since our guys had to leave a little earlier that morning for their event. We would definitely stay there again and recommend highly

The two young ladies Shannon with the fancy fingernails and the I think house keeping Lilly?. Were perfect examples of Southern hospitality and charm. Most important they have fried bologna for breakfast! Just need some Dukes Mayo and Sauers mustard for the perfect bologna and egg sandwich!

We stayed at the Sleep Inn property while bringing my freshman daughter to UVA Wise. We were very comfortable we didn’t experience any problems at all. Whenever we come to town to visit my daughter we will be staying there again. We’ve already booked a weekend in October. The staff were all very friendly! Thanks for a great experience.
