My husband had emergency surgery in Canberra while we were 13hours away from home. Abode was recommended to me as it was close to the hospital. I tried to call to talk about parking as I required a secure car park. Phone was unanswered so I booked called again only to find that the hotel had no car parking. This was very disappointing as I had bikes on the rack on our car. Everything else about my stay was great.

Very nice, comfortable and spacious room. Staff very friendly and helpful. A small Westfield shopping centre is only a 5 minute walk from the property.The only issue we had was that there is no parking at the property. There is 4 hour during the day paid parking across the road from Monday to Friday, but that can get expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Greatly location. Close to shops and restaurants. No on-site parking but there's a public parking lot opposite the hotel. Comfortable bed and good bathroom layout. Washer/dryer in the room was great. Would have liked a coffee pod machine.

Property is in a good location, has a great little cafe. Unfortunately it does not offer parking which makes it expensive if you have a car and in the move. Rooms are basic for the price especially as there are no other facilities such as a gym or pool in the complex. The lifts are a nightmare, I have never seen so many people complaining about their lack of functionality. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Service on the rooms is only on Thursdays but you can restock on all items such as towels and coffee. Not a place to walk the streets late at night.

On the plus side it is central to all tourist spots, large room and well-equipped kitchen and comfortable king size bed. On the minus the room only had one lounge chair but set up for 2 people and the parking was over the road at easy park with paid parking between 8.30am till 5.30pm.

It was nice and clean- we got a room right in front of the lifts which was a bit noise so that’s not the best design but it’s wasn’t too often. The staff were lovely and it’s close to walk to the shops. The only parking is an open lot in front of the property which is paid during the week and free on weekends.

I have enjoyed my stay onite twice this year on visits to Canberra hospital Restaurant fine no complaints The only thing I was really dissatisfied with was cleanliness in the room Mould around basin outlet also sink rim. Floor grouting needs cleaning In bathroom filthy. Water from shower ends up all over part of floor Are there rooms without washer dryer and cooktops or is that standard All good thanks apart from fairly untidy cleaning Not much attention to details Thankyou

The family studio was spotless, spacious and very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teens. Had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Excellent parking option directly across the road that was free on the weekend. Very short walk to Westfield and 15 min drive to all major attractions in Canberra. Would happily stay again.

The floors in the hotel are very sticky. It is very uncomfortable to step on the floor with bare feet. I hope to pay more attention. When I want to do laundry, there is no laundry detergent, just two packs of washing liquid. It is very satisfying to patronize your hotel in advance, this time is the worst time I have encountered. This visit the floor was under construction and there was building dust everywhere. Our room had not been properly cleaned with rubbish on the floor and the bathroom bins not emptied or surfaces wiped down. Towels were mouldy. Upon check out there was no receptionist.

I can never understand why there is only one chair (armchair type) in the room which is for two people. There was a desk chair, but in most rooms, there is only the one armchair for two people. It doesn't make sense.

The bed was lumpy & we were to have a king bed & it was 2 king singles pushed together & could feel the join in the middle…wasn’t pleasant to sleep in. Needs attention!!

Overall, the property was ok. The shower was lacking in water pressure. Only a single outlet on each side of the bed, had to unplug the lamp to plug in my CPAP machine.

Really nice accommodations! With a fully self-contained studio apartment, I had everything I needed including kitchenette and laundry. At a great price, too! Staff went over and above to be kind and helpful. Parking was convenient, right across the road - and because I stayed over the weekend, free!

Hotel is conveniently located with good parking adjacent. It is a popular place to stay. Our room was spacious and had a great outlook and a handy kitchenette complete with dishwasher which we used. I always unpack the dishwasher to help the staff as I dont think it's fair to do otherwise if possible. BONUS for honesty-we left a small tech headset behind accidentally and the hotel contacted us to tell us- thank you to the people concerned. Much appreciated.

The room itself was pretty good, spacious and clean. My kids love the stay. However, our check in experience wasn’t that good. There was no one at the front desk, and we ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes for someone to check us in. The staff member seemed impatient when we asked about parking and breakfast options, and the info we were told was different from what we found on website.

Heater didn’t work and when the staff were told, they told us to fiddle with the buttons but otherwise that’s it. Stayed 3 nights and was fiddling with it all the time.

The property was clean and quiet. However during my stay there were no dining facilities which included breakfast although this was advertised on their website. As a diabetic, I would not have booked at this hotel if I had been made aware of this on booking. Also despite numerous attempts I was unable to access the WiFi using the password I was given and no support was provided to me to sort this out. Very poor service Abode Woden, I will not be staying with you again!

During our brief stay at this establishment, we found ourselves in need of transportation to the airport the next day. To ensure a smooth departure, I made multiple requests to the front desk for a taxi reservation at 4:25 am, taking into account the considerable amount of luggage we had to transport. Regrettably, upon our departure the following morning, we discovered that no such reservation had been made, as informed by the morning front desk staff. Thankfully, I had allowed for an additional 30 minutes before my scheduled flight, enabling us to reach the airport in a timely manner. While disappointed by the disorganization displayed by the employee, it is worth noting that the hotel itself offered a satisfactory experience considering the price paid.

Hot water didn’t work. Complained the first day. They said if there are too many guests then the single water heater may not have the capacity! Second day too didn’t work. Informed the staff and they said the manager will contact. Haven’t heard back yet. Stay away.

The hotel is well located, walking distance to Westfield Woden. The rooms were spacious and had amenities like a washing machine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only negative was perhaps the lighting... They have interesting feature lighting, but it was wired with the rest of the lights in the room affecting the mood of the room. This isn't a big deal for me, but for my husband. Otherwise, it was great. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Location wise (proximity to hospitals) made this hotel a necessity. Unfortunately the immediate environs is not very inviting and don’t expect a good night sleep - the local car and motorbike hoons enjoy the adjoining streets far too much. Staff helpful, friendly and very responsive to requests. Rooms large and kitchenette well laid out and equipped. However, honestly if you don’t have to stay here, don’t.

Greatly location. Close to shops and restaurants. No on-site parking but there's a public parking lot opposite the hotel. Comfortable bed and good bathroom layout. Washer/dryer in the room was great. Would have liked a coffee pod machine.

This hotel is very close to Canberra hospital, making it ideal for our frequent trips for medicals. The views aren't much but that is balanced by comfort and convenience. There is also a great cafe open all day and a pantry for picking up bits and pieces. We stay there fairly regularly and found the staff to be helpful and friendly.

It is not in a pretty spot or near attractions but a good option for people coming into Canberra for Parliamentary sitting weeks. Under 10 minutes’ drive from Woden to APH outside peak hours. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Close to a large shopping mall with Coles, Woolies, and restaurants. No parking on-site but large carpark across the road and multi-storey ones nearby. Would prefer the car in secure hotel parking but... Little issue but not a fan of the shower head - too high and not adjustable.

The room was very spacious and clean. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the afternoon/evening which was very disappointing as we didn’t want to go out for dinner. The bed was not that comfortable either.

Convenient to Canberra Hospital, immaculately clean and comfortable room. Had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were good quality with pleasant service. Would recommend.

As a diabetic, I would not have booked at this hotel if I had been made aware of this on booking. Also despite numerous attempts I was unable to access the WiFi using the password I was given and no support was provided to me to sort this out. Very poor service Abode Woden, I will not be staying with you again!

Utterly charmless property setup to suit the operation not to create an enjoyable stay. Restricted operating hours means the restaurant/bar is seldom open even on a Saturday at lunch time

Wonderful, clean honest accommodation in a good spot close to shops and eateries. Staff were courteous and friendly. Room was clean, spacious and very comfy. Although my only criticism is why it only has one chair for a two person room.

Unfortunately ,we didn't get to stay at Abode Woden on this occasion !! We were travelling over 4 hours to Canberra for a medical Specialist's appointment, and as we set off we received an email to say our appointment had been postponed by a fortnight!!! We emailed the motel and asked if we may be able to transfer our booking by a fortnight and explained the situation. We also mentioned that the hospital had advised they could send a letter of support as proof of the reason, but received a reply from the motel that we were outside the 24 hour cancellation period , and since we'd booked through a third party they were unable to assist us!!! We were totally aware of the time frame , but thought maybe there would be a compassionate consideration come into play , since we'd already paid for the room , and there was plenty of time left in the day to re-book the room to someone else!! Anyway , this just made our crappy day crappier , and we have had to essentially pay double for accommodation for the doctor visit!! Disappointed!!

Stayed here a couple of times recently. The room itself is nice and comfortable. Location is great, very near to the Hellenic ands Southern Cross clubs and Westfield. There are a few down sides though. The shower has both times had previous guests hair - gross. Check in has been a little troublesome each time - reception is not well manned after hours, staff often out smoking or otherwise occupied. There’s always a guest having some issue dealt with. The lift is problematic and slow, either passes don’t work or need getting used to the delay. We were evacuated for false fire alarm 20 minutes after falling asleep on the most recent visit - seems their kitchens are not well ventilated and trigger the alarm regularly. Kids are traumatised. Bunk beds are very noisy at the slightest movement. Bodega at reception is welcome, for last minute supplies. Will stay again, but wife has given a final warning in the hair in the shower.
