Having stayed here when it first opened have found the upkeep has dropped off immensely . Swim up bar available but unstaffed , no ladder out of said pool cut my foot climbing out due to broken flooring . Breakfast dissapointing . I like the hotel and staff are really good but just dissapointed knowing how good it was and can be .

The property was convenient to some places. Rooftop pool had cracked tiles which could cut a person. Drain inside pool didn’t have a cover. If i was not looking down, i would have hurt myself. Decking was uneven with gaps between wooden slabs. Pool bar was never open. Clearly not your idea of rooftop swim up pool bars. Bar on street level only serves Bintangs. We were told hotel does not serve alcohol, which was very disappointing. Breakfast the same thing everyday, no variety like cornflakes, muesli and yogurt. Rooms were clean. Fridge was off when we checked in after midnight. You would have thought they would switched it on knowing that they had guests coming that day. The bathroom is so small 2 adults can't fit in there at the same time. Needless to say, i will not be staying at this hotel again. The staff were really nice though.

Room constantly smelt like sewerage, toilet only flushed half the time. Kettle took at least 10 minutes to boil. Air conditioning filter was filthy. Lighting in the room was very dull. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We were really happy with our stay here. The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean and maintained daily. The location is good (on quite a busy road) but it did mean that there was lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. It was walking distance to the beach too. If we were to return to this part of Bali then we would have no hesitation in staying here again

Les deux piscines de l'hôtel étaient pour celle du toit fermée et pour celle du deuxième étage impraticable car l'eau était verte avec des trucs louches dedans. Les lits étaient douteux car il y a avait je ne sais quoi à l'intérieur qui nous grattait les jambes. Dans le descriptif de l'hôtel il est mentionné "proche de la plage". En vol d'oiseau oui mais comme les routes/rues ne sont pas en vol d'oiseau, il faut 20 à 25 minutes à pieds. Le quartier est catastrophique. Il est composé uniquement des shops, de massages et de restaurants. Les vendeurs vous sautent dessus à chaque fois que vous passez, vous agressent pour certains et vous insultent pour d'autres. Malgré l'extrême gentillesse du personnel, nous avons changé d'hôtel et de quartier.

Very smelly of MOULD & all through bathroom. Water from shower smelt like sewage. Aircon leaking mouldy water. Rat spotted in eating area. When checking out was charged $40 aud for small stain in bed sheet, from tattoo touching lightly. Highly recommend to stay away from this accommodation.

We came here for our honeymoon but after our first night here we are already looking to leave and book somewhere else. We booked a deluxe room which is not deluxe at all. When we checked in the room it was very dirty and stunk of mould, we could barely breathe in there. We asked to be moved witch they did straight away but the new room is as dirty as the first one. Took my shoes off after a long day of traveling and after 2 min walking barefoot in the room,my feet were black. Wifi in the room does not work, only in public areas. Swimming pool advertised to be open from 7 am, 8:30 we went there and were told that is closed for the day. Wanted to go to the hot tub which is advertised on their website but found out it doesnt exist so we spend our first day if the honeymoon walking around legian looking for hotels to move in to and trying to get in touch with their manager to get our money back so we can move hotels.

Pool was fantastic. Breakfast was meh...the extra $35000 rupiah ($3) to have bacon was a bit much. Every day breakfast was the same. (Same fruit, same choices so it gets tiring. The area around the hotel is a bit run down, did see rats each night walking back to hotel from areas near open fields or garbage bags. Every store in area is either a massage parlor, tattoo shop, counterfeit store, or a convenience store. The rooms are very very small, big enough really for one person. Two will feel tight. Lack of storage space for luggage, clothing drawers, or shelves make this an ideal hotel for a max 2 night/transit stay. Grab (asias version of uber), to the airport was $50000 rupiah or $5/cad. The walls are thin so you will hear others. During my stay, you can smell smokers and old tobacco every where. The room was cold, and floor was freezing so use the slippers. The guest staff were helpful in changing sheets and do try to accomodate. Request upper floor (3rd or 4th floor if you can).

Staff were lovely. Rooms were very damp and didn’t smell very good. Water pressure in the shower was terrible couldn’t even wash my thin hair. We checked out although we had paid for 2 more nights.

Room was the best bit. Was on the ground floor room was great well kept an clean jus no sunlight or veiw for a sweet room did ask for up stairs a bit an even asked for a down grade just to get some day light an a better sense of direction to get to the upper levels to no evail. But hey its still better that being home.

we only stayed for one night and had to leave very early in the morning, staff were fantastic (service desk is open 24/7) and helped book us a cab at 4:30am to go to the airport. fast check-in and fast check-out, only problem we had was our room was on the ground floor and outside our little window was a side road and every time someone walked past you could hear someone's dogs barking like they were in your room.

Room was spacious. Bed was really nice. Staff was great. They are pushing eco-friendlyness. Which while usually nice, the toilets they use don't flush with enough water (low flow toilets). Causing you to need to flush up to 5 times to get everything down. This basically counters the eco toilets purpose. Our AC didn't work day one, we had to ask for them to fix it. They did, but the unit they use has either noy enough airflow or is too small for the room.

TV poor I had to keep rebooting. Problem with sink drain in the bathroom. After 3 attempts to fix it which failed I asked them to leave it to drain into the bin. They offered a change of room without me asking but I didn’t want the inconvenience. When I removed the doona from it’s cover as it was too warm it was very badly stained. All in all you get what you pay for but I expected better

The incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming staff are a credit to the hotel. However, our room was very noisy due to it sounding as though the water system was constantly refilling and because we are just off a busy main road - we could hear karaoke late into the night and could hear the noise from the hotel restaurant during breakfast hours. The rooms are not sound proofed, so noisy guests in the corridor can be heard very easily. Bits of unaligned wallpaper and filler in the shower door hinge that hasn't been concealed made the room feel less than 4 star. Breakfast gave authentic Indonesian options but fairly limited for vegans. The restaurant is open and airy, beautiful for dining. The hotel is very close walking distance to 3 beaches and conveniently located to reach other areas of Bali by car.

I've stayed at the Sun Island Legian numerous times and always really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this time we found out on check in the main pool was closed, which is the main reason I like to stay there. The staff on check-in were quite short and not helpful. we only stayed for one night and had to leave very early in the morning, staff were fantastic (service desk is open 24/7) and helped book us a cab at 4:30am to go to the airport. fast check-in and fast check-out, only problem we had was our room was on the ground floor and outside our little window was a side road and every time someone walked past you could hear someone's dogs barking like they were in your room.

It was all good. Simple but good breakfast. Good beds, nice room. All staff were very kind. Except for one security man. He offered me to have a 'happy night' the night before I left. Felt unsafe at that time, because of the creepiness. But without that, I've had a nice time.

The walls are thin so you will hear others. During my stay, you can smell smokers and old tobacco every where. The room was cold, and floor was freezing so use the slippers. The guest staff were helpful in changing sheets and do try to accomodate. Request upper floor (3rd or 4th floor if you can).

We were really happy with our stay here. The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean and maintained daily. The location is good (on quite a busy road) but it did mean that there was lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. It was walking distance to the beach too. If we were to return to this part of Bali then we would have no hesitation in staying here again

If you want to be amongst the life of bali this is the hotel to stay at! Close to bars, restaurants and shopping! You literally walk out of the hotel and you are in the middle of the bali nightlife! Prime location if you want to be in the middle of the bali night-life. Do not recommend for children as it is almost impossible to not be surrounded by ciggarette smell. Perfect for the party goers, couples or friend trips.

The rooms are so loud. We were on the left side o the hotel, next to it was residences, they were so loud at nice it was hard to sleep. People walking around the hotel, guests ans staff, were loud in the middle of the night never had a good night sleep. Need to invest in some sound proofing. Alao the pool boosts a pool bar but they only sold mocktails and beer and staff werent there all the time. Breakfast was very disappointing, we wnet out for breakfast. Hotel is in a fantastic location

Our stay at the sun was amazing the staff were super helpful and extremely kind and friendly anything we needed they were able to help us with, our room was clean and tidy and the cleaners come every day to keep everything fresh.the only thing we didn’t like in our room was the shower there was no pressure at all water just dribbled out. Breakfast had many options but wasn’t ever hot it was Luke warm almost cold otherwise it was amazing we ate at the restaurant to that was amazing!! Took one of there couple massages wow !! Wonderful team couldn’t fault that experience it was wonderful thank you 🙏 we would definitely come back again thank you 🙏

Absolutely lovely staff who were willing to help us with anything! Great breakfast and cooking class. Beautiful pool but quite shaded so was cold, and simple but clean rooms. Convenient location, very close to shopping strips.

Breakfast became monotonous after the first couple of days. Property is ageing and could do with some maintenance mainly around the pool area, floor boards loose and some broken. Despite these it’s in a good location and the staff are excellent.

I have stayed at Sun Island on 5 separate occasions. The location is very central and close to many supermarkets, milkbars, shops and wonderful, cheap massage venues where you will be treated besutifully. The food is excellent value, tasty and nicely presented. The staff are very courteous, smiling and happy working here, and that means they are valued as employees, and enjoy their workplace. The drinks menu may not be huge, but is is acceptable with great prices and lovely presentation. Overall it’s a great accommodation choice for those looking for something cheaper in JL Legian. The added bonus is the infinite pool overlooks the street, so you can enjoy the pool and watch the world pass you by.
