Location was excellent. Parking, with a surprise fee, was poor. The attendants mostly just looked at you. Checking out, the only valet attendant didn't even leave his booth. The restaurant had plenty of open seats yet couldn't make a reservation online. The review copy of the bill had a "suggested tip" (party of 2) and the final copy included it, along with an "additional tip" line. If I hadn't been paying attention I would have tipped twice. That really irritated me. Finally the carpets in the long hallway entering the hotel were very old and shabby looking.

The hotel is nice and the rooms have been updated, but a lot of changes since the last time we stayed. Our room got extremely hot and the only ventilation was a window that opened slightly. This was not ideal for us as we were on the ninth floor and had a small child with us. We reached out to the front desk and was told there was nothing to be done as the ac is a central system and hadn't been changed over yet from heat to ac. We found that odd as there was ac in the hallways and lobby. Thankfully it cooled off some outside and our last 2 days were comfortable. The hotel seems to maybe be a warm shelter. This is great for the area and we applaud that if so, but we smelled a lot of weed smoke in the hallways, had someone spit out a window onto the sidewalk beside us and it was loud quite often. There is room service if you can get the restaurant that now operates in the hotel to answer their phone, but it is extremely expensive. The hotel is suppose to have shuttle service to and from Penn Station, however we walked more to and from as we couldn't get the shuttle to pick us. This was difficult as well as we had 2 children. We chose to come back to this hotel because they offered this service, but again, we had to walk more then ride, even in the pouring rain one morning. I hate to leave a bad review because we have really liked this hotel in the past, but I'm not sure we will stay here on future trips.

Check-in was seamless. The front desk agent was very nice and helpful. A few amenities were missing from my room (hangers, wash cloths, and the bag for the ice bucket, but the staff promptly provided them. There's a laundry room for guests to use on the 3rd floor. It's hotter than a sauna, but I'm grateful for it! The hotel is beautiful and safe, with elevator access key cards. The Medallion restaurant, which is on-site, was great. Try the steak sandwich or the Grilled Sea Bass. A complimentary shuttle picks up from Newark Penn Station, and it takes guests around the corner to the Tryp hotel, where there's a breakfast buffet. I love it here!

I had a very pleasant stay here. The staff at the reception were extremely kind and welcoming, which made a real difference. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall service was excellent. One thing to keep in mind is that breakfast is served in a different building about a 3-minute walk away, but it wasn’t a big issue. What I really appreciated was the free transportation to and from the airport, running every hour — that made things so much easier during my stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The biggest issue was the amount of people smoking pot. Every floor smelled of it and they could do nothing about it. The staff were friendly and although we never had our room cleaned (by choice) it was clean when we arrived and it looks like the staff kept the rooms clean. Noise levels were through the room and the parking cost was outrageous.

The good thing about the hotel was that it was close to where our show was. I probably wouldn't stay there again because there were just lots of little things wrong with the room, including it didn't feel especially clean, frayed shades, stains on some of the walls. One of the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the other was not.

Night 1 was ok. I came in from work on day 2 and realized my room was cleaned, but no towels! They took my used ones and didn't give me new ones. So what, i only get to use 1 towel and have to play hide and seek to get another one? Whatever the reason, I had to wait 90 minutes for a towel. When room service did come, they only brought a wash cloth. I anak had a giant roach in my shower. I also asked for bug spray. They sent up air freshener instead. REALLY!!!???!!! So after 90 minutes of my limited sleep time was spent chasing down a towel that i ended up having to get myself. Even after that, the staff had the audacity to blame me for being upset! That's some trifling stuff in my opinion. Never stay here unless you like roaches in your bed!

Both times I've staying here the room doors slam very loudly, there were guests yelling in the hallways throughout the night, bathroom sinks were dirty.... and last time they hadn't finishing prepping the bed (left the pillows on bed without pillow cases).

The amount of people who smoke in their bedrooms appears to be high based upon the general odor in the corridors and some of the bedrooms. I stayed at the hotel Thursday night. I arrived late and was anxious to get sleep. The bedroom assigned me was reeking of smoke upon entry so I opened the windows while I get ready for bed. Before turning off the lights I closed the windows and went to sleep. Upon waking the next morning, there was an acrid odor in the room and my throat was sore. My clothes smelled as if I smoke 40 Marlboro daily. The hotel should have a very firm no smoking policy so guests do not have to experience what I encountered this week.

Overall, it was not bad. The first room we were assigned had bad odors, and we requested that it be changed. Although it was Saturday night, the next door was very loud, and there was no security patrolling the units.

The staff was my favorite part of my stay. They were kind, friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the park. The location was convenient to our events at Prudential Center. I recommend Robert Treat Hotel.

Not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, but far from the best. The refrigerator in our room did not work and the ac never got below 71 degrees. We did not complain about it because it seemed like just finding us a room at check-in was a struggle. The place smells like cigarettes and weed a lot of the time too. Otherwise, the room was clean enough for us, there were plenty of outlets, the tv worked, and it was in a convenient, walkable location. Took the bus to get there from the airport and took their shuttle back- both easy options.

I didnt like the fact that i was told by the night staff that towels would be brought to me by the morning staff. When i called for the towels; i was told i had to come down & get them myself. So i went down ti get them & they dod not have any towels. Just ridiculous. The staff was nice & friendly.

The front desk staff was not friendly AT ALL. They did not make me feel welcomed. No smiles at all and they never said "Welcome to the Robert Treat Hotel. How can I assist you". The front desk staff needs customer service training. Their lack of customer service would prevent me from staying there again.

I like that it was easily accessible from the Penn station and just a mile in Uber. Excellent and very professional staff. This was my second stay and it was great. Nice room and nice view. I was initially given a room that appeared to have been used by a smoker, but the clerk Tanisha did not hesitate to move me to a different room with a great view of the park and city.

The staff at the front desk greeted us with a smile and were helpful. The hotel is situated so that we could leave our car parked in the hotel lot and walk to everywhere we needed to go. Our visit there was for our daughter’s graduation from NJIT.

Had a great stay at the Best Western Robert Treat. Hotel was conveniently located near Newark Penn Station to commute into New York. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. Would definitely use again.

Inside is nice. Nothing overly special about the room. It shows some age, but it was clean. Asked for a rollaway bed, but never got it. The neighborhood isn’t the greatest either. Not terrible, but a little sketchy after dark. A short walk to the Prudential Center, but again, walking back after dark… A little pricey, but expected for downtown. Parking is $20 and pretty limited. All-in-all it served its purpose, and we were mostly satisfied.

Hotel room was nice and comfortable. Plenty of pillows, working outlets, wifi, AC nice and cool. Hotel location to Prudential Center was perfect only 3 blocks. Parking was very reasonable $23/day. Staff were nice. Elevator was samll and slow. It looked like one elevator was not working. Breakfast was offered at a different hotel (not far).

Location was great, close to Penn Stn and prudential center. Some fast food options nearby and a Whole Foods grocery. I would not call the area "safe" but just be aware of your surroundings and it should be fine. I loved the room. It was comfortable with all the necessities. Only thing missing was a coffee maker.

This was a convenient location for the concert we were going to see which was literally a block away. We had an early dinner in the restaurant however, the food was not great. It was very mediocre. The staff was very pleasant however, and professional.

Very nice hotel; the room was very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff not as friendly or welcoming; not rude, just very straight to the point and not informative. Was not told that you need your keycard to operate their newer elevator. Was not told that breakfast is not served at the hotel, but rather their sister hotel around the block; was told about the food shop or the coffee bar either. Overall, a nice place to stay with a good location, just make sure to ask about any questions because you won’t be told anything.

Staff was helpful and polite. Room was clean and stocked. Everything was great. The only minor issue we ran into was not being informed that the breakfast menu for room service is cash only. But even that was easily handled.
