Hyatt Place San Carlos

Pleasantly surprised with the hotel and the ease of underground parking with no "hidden" costs. Small dining/bar area was a plus as well. I'll be back.

Great property with a good breakfast and a bar where you can get light food. Secure parking.

Overall, our stay was comfortable beginning with check-in, room condition, breakfast assortment. There was plwnty of street parking available in front of the hotel entrance saving us $12.00 +tax daily. We would stay here again.

Surpassed any hotel we have stayed at this year so far for business. From the full gym to the great breakfast… clean, new-looking rooms, friendly staff… there isn’t much room for improvement.

It would be a 10 but it doesn't have a pool.

The property is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The elevators are pretty fast and there is laundry on site.

Hotel was very nice and conveniently located. The complimentary breakfast was great and staff were constantly replenishing the items. We ate at the restaurant the first night we were there and it was really good. I did have an issue with one of their housekeeping staff. She was rude and accused us of leaving our “do not disturb “ sign on our door when I called to ask if we could get our room cleaned later in the day. The maids were in the hall when we left that morning so we removed it.

Great service, room, bed, bathroom, breakfast, parking. Gym was decent as well if not busy. Only downside is you need a car to get to the hotel.

Overall property is new and clean. Only complain is that hotel has only one washer/driver for the entire hotel, had to wait almost an hour to use it. Breakfast menu / quality could improve.

All hotels must make sure that everything is working properly in the rooms before guests check in. We arrived very late. When we got ready to sleep it was almost midnight. The black out did not lower, so light came into the room from outside and hit us directly in the face, thus not allowing us to sleep. The room was bright because of the outside light coming in. Terrible night!

This is where we stay every time we're in town. Rooms are immaculate, nice breakfast spread, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. One thing I didn’t like is that I put the do not disturb sign on my door and housekeeping took it off and still came in my room while I was not there.

My room was clean and quiet with a comfy couch and decent water pressure. The complimentary breakfast had a nice range of options, and most inportantly, there wasn’t a single thing that I’d critique.

The room was clean and spacious as was the bathroom. We love a big, roomy shower. Breakfast was ok. The scrambled eggs were like rubber lol but overall a nice hotel for a quick, overnight visit.

I enjoyed my one-night stay here. I was very impressed with everything. The lobby is clean and stylish. Furniture is modern and colorful, yet practical and comfortable. There are nooks with TVs where you can just hang out. There is a large table with some public-use computers and a printer that seem free to use. The gym has all modern equipment: treadmills, weight machine, freeweights and kettle bells. There is a complimentary breakfast that is a real breakfast: eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal, juices, coffee, fruit, etc. There is a bar. There is a self-serve snack and medicine nook (have to pay). Staff was nice, and the bartender offered me a glass of water, even though they were closed and she was cleaning up. There is a nice little veranda adjacent to the bar. As far as my room went, it was spacious and even smelled nice (not usually my experience). I did not hear any noise from the neighbors, and even though they are near the Caltrain, I didn't hear it. There is a huge TV, and the bed is comfortable. You can connect to Google Chromecast on the TV and play what you want from your smartphone. My room also had a sectional sofa where I could just relax and wind down before bed. The room had a fridge, coffee maker, safe, iron, USB charging ports, blackout curtain, and even a slow-close toilet seat. That's above and beyond! Would be nice if they provided composting at breakfast when you bus your dishes. But I don't know that San Carlos is set up for that yet. Would stay again!

Room was much smaller than expected. I know area is very expensive but i was expecting bigger room for price pain ($300) no microwave no refrigerator. You must pay for parking, it is a tight garage. Ample street parking, quiet neighborhood, rooms and lobby are clean staff is friendly.

Clean, nice rooms and felt very safe. Breakfast was great as well. The window in my room was frosted glass so that felt a little cell like not being to see out the window but if you got a different room, problem solved! Good option.

Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room, but overall great place to stay.

Overall, we had a very nice stay. I was disappointed that our only window was frosted glass, so we had no way to look outside. I didn’t like that, and had never seen that before throughout all of the hundreds of hotels I’ve stayed at. Also, the walls were bare, which gave a the room a cold, and less than cozy appearance and feel. I needed body lotion when I arrived, and thought for sure there would be a small bottle in the bathroom, but apparently Hyatt Place does not provide that-but you should.

It was just okay. The walls are paper thin. Very noisy.

We were told at 4:30 pm that our Queen room was no longer available as we were Expedia third party customers and they could give it away ( even though we were paid in full.) The staff member who said his name was Sean was arrogant and rude. He must have said 20 times it was because we were Expedia customers and had no rights. I then called Expedia repeatedly but no one picked up. We ended up calling the Hyatt central office and complained. They seemed horrified and magically we got our room back. But I will never stay here again. And Expedia should have better service.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location. The staff was friendly and very helpful but definitely understaffed! Hyatt admin, hire more staff to help out your very kind and competent work force!

The front desk team and staff were exceptionally friendly.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt in San Marcos and, overall, the experience was mixed. On the positive side, almost every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping, the breakfast team, and most of the front-desk staff went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. Their kindness really stood out and made parts of my stay enjoyable. The hotel was clean and had a homely feel. I was happy to feel so comfortable and safe. However, my interactions with one front-desk employee, Kim, were unfortunately the opposite. In my personal experience, she came across as impatient and dismissive, and I noticed similar behavior toward other guests as well. It created a very uncomfortable first impression each time I approached the desk, which was disappointing compared to the otherwise excellent service throughout the hotel. If the hotel addressed this issue, I’d happily consider staying again, because the rest of the staff truly delivered great hospitality.

Convienient location to see Sanfransisco and San Jose Area. Mountain drive near the hotel is very scenic. Breakfast is very good. Staff is very helpful.

The hotel isn't even a year old and still feels very fresh and new. Modern, minimal design throughout. Super comfortable bed. Friendly and informative staff. Great location and close to the San Carlos train depot.

Beautiful breakfast buffet...wonderful size of room and very, very clean. Great parking, too. San Carlos is a great mid Peninsula location for easy access to San Francisco and to San Jose.

Staff was very friendly, and loved that I was able to get dinner downstairs at Happy Hour price! My room was very clean, spacious, and bed was super comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was top notch too.

The morning breakfast was average at best. Quality of food, were slow in refilling the trays, and selections were just OK.

The property itself was very nice, it seems to have been recently remodeled. However, one of the main reasons I chose to stay here was for the included breakfast. Sadly they ran out of food long before the ending time, leaving us to spend $35 down the street to eat. When asked by the desk clerk how our stay was, I mentioned how disappointing it was to not know how much food you need for guests, and all she responded was,” Well other than that it was good, right?” No apology, no nothing. I’ll stay at a Hampton next time.
