Hotel picked primarily because of location. It is a fairly old building so is quirky. Bedroom and bathroom size was excellent.

We refused to stay. Neither the hotel or Hotels.com would take any responsibility and therefore I received no refund. BUYER BEWARE. Our room had cobwebs in every corner, the walls were cracked, the ceiling was cracked with water stains and looked like it was starting to come down. Rusty fittings in the bathroom and an internal door in the room was covered in random paint brush marks (as though someone was trying different colours on it. Check in was a table with all room keys laid out and a handwritten note and a phone number. The lady that came to us, to show us to our room was lovely however the lady she spoke to on the phone (assume the owner) sounded very abrupt with her (I could hear the conversation). Breakfast looked like a help yourself buffet with a fridge and 2 microwave ovens. Bread products already out. Attached to the hotel is the local chip shop, which could be smelt throughout the hotel. Dinner menus suggest that is where dinner comes from. Hotels.com claimed that they could not get an answer when calling the hotel owner and that’s why they couldn’t intervene! Not happy with with both our Agent H.Com or the hotel.
