Herlig hotell i den sørlig enden av Copabacana. Kjentes rimelig trygt med tydelig tilstedeværelse av politi i området. Strandservice var kjempebra, opplevdes trygt og med god mat og hyggelig personale. Fint med mulighet for å låse inn eiendeler når man ville ta seg et bad. Frokosten var nydelig, upåklagelig. To bassengområder på hotellet, vi prøvde kun ut den på baksiden. God plass og hyggelig stemning med egen DJ. Treningsrommet var et av de beste vi noensinne har opplevd på et hotell, og i alle fall det beste i Sør-Amerika. Åpent døgnet rundt og med god plass, kaldt vann og kalde håndklær. Rommet var veldig fint, velholdt, strålende renhold. Beste hotellet i Rio? Mye mulig! Noe negativt: en tendens til at servitørene på restaurantene (ikke frokost/lounge) var trege/langsomme, uoppmerksomme og brukte mye tid på å skravle med hverandre. Enkelte gjester fikk mye oppmerksomhet, andre måtte nesten gå til kjøkkenet og bestille selv.

The Fairmont is a beautiful property with lovely views from the restaurant and an amazing spa. The Amazon experience treatment in the spa was the best three hours I’ve had in many years. My only issue is that the lost and found has been unresponsive and I left something in the room that I would like to get back.

Hotel muito bem localizado, com bela vista para Copacabana. A piscina na frente do mar é muito gostosa. Os quartos são confortáveis e espaçosos. O serviço é excelente, sempre muito cortês. O Spa também é um destaque, com ótimas massagens. Único ponto de melhoria é que a fachada está precisando de uma reforma urgente, além de alguns fios e batentes quebrados na área da piscina.

Pontos favoráveis, a localização e o bar da piscina com show ao vivo, funcionários simpáticos e bem treinados, a vista linda... pontos alto do hotel! Pontos a melhorar, o banheiro com o ralo difícil da água escoar fez com que estivesse tudo sempre molhado, toalhas, box, piso, etc. Nós reclamamos, em tese mandaram um técnico mas melhorou muito pouco, quase nada. The hotel was quite nice and in a good location. We enjoyed the spa. However, it’s overpriced. At this price range, I expected more in terms of service and food quality. The breakfast is quite limited, and the food all around the hotel is poor compared to the price you pay. There was also a bad smell in the room, and the room is quite noisy. When we complained, they came and sprained the room and that was it, but the smell remained All in all, the hotel is not bad and we had a nice time, but I doubt I will return at this price point.

Costumo ficar sempre no Fairmont Gold e nunca tive maiores problemas, embora jamais tenham me dado um upgrade sequer, mesmo eu sendo vip pass expedia (gold). Dessa vez, além de nada de upgrade ainda me deram um quarto com duas BARATAS, o que é inadmissível. Um nojo! Tive que trocar de quarto no meio da noite. No entanto, o que mais me impressionou é que na hora do check out a dita gerente do hotel ao invés de se desculpar pelas baratas estava preocupada em me cobrar um cafezinho que eu tomei na piscina. Cstumava ficar praticamente todos mês no Fairmont mas acho que não volto tão cedo. Pena pq a maioria dos funcionários sempre foram cordiais e nunca tive problema de limpeza lá.

My wife stayed at this hotel, and she is very unsatisfied with this property. She has yet to hear back from the manager for any of these following issues she raised. 1. There are numerous hair everywhere in this hotel and also on food. Very disgusting!! Be careful of the food you eat including bread and scrambled eggs!! 2. The phone and power outlets is broken in her room, no power at all, nobody responded to her messages on WhatsApp 3. Check in was supposed to be at 3:00 pm, but she waited for another half hour because front desk had forgotten to notify her room was ready

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Rio for a week. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but the hotel is showing its age. The entire property, including the rooms, feels extremely tired, as if it hasn’t been renovated or properly maintained in at least 20 years. Many details were worn or damaged: the basin had chipped edges, some facility signs were broken, and general wear-and-tear was noticeable throughout. Worse, there seemed to be an issue in every room. My original room had an air conditioner that rattled nonstop, making it impossible to sleep properly for two nights. The staff were friendly and promptly moved me to another room, but in the new room, the shower drain didn’t work, leaving a pool of water after every use that only cleared when housekeeping came. That said, the location is unbeatable. The hotel is surrounded by fantastic restaurants and plenty of breakfast spots. It’s also just a short stroll to both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, making it ideal for exploring. The hotel breakfast was disappointing - very basic for the price. You can find much better quality and variety outside at a fraction of the cost. On the plus side, the gym was well-equipped, with dumbbells up to 26kg, four 20kg plates, and a Smith machine, a great perk for fitness enthusiasts.

The doors to balcony are not good enough considering the rooms are above the pool/restaurant - they need to improve/update them- the hotel was very busy as it was the end of Carnival but the noise went very late into the night. Stayed at the Fairmont on a number of occasions and was very excited to stay at again. WE were contacted in the run up to the stay that room upgrades were available - we responded on every occasion accepting the upgrade. On arrival at reception on the day of arrival the Reception had no idea about the request even showing the emails. We went to our confirmed room and entered into a room with a Smell of DAMP , the floor was wet and bedding very Damp. We called reception immediately and told no other rooms were available. I emailed a manager and had a response within a few hours offering to show me a few other rooms (miracle after none were available) - we moved rooms that day and later started to realise that the Damp issue , is around the entire hotel. We heard from a few other guests with the same problem and not something that you would expect from a hotel at this standard. Standard of service around the restaurants and pool was awful. Super slow and priortising outside guests. Room service was shocking - we ordered a cheese board which arrived an hour later with no bread , requested bread and another hour later nothing received. Really sad to see a hotel of this level become like this. Really hope to see things improve as its a great location for a hotel and has great potential.

We stayed at the Fairmont for 4 nights. The location between Copacabana and Ipenema beach is fantastic. Our room had a view onto the sugarloaf and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching people on the beach and in the water. We only had one dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was amazing. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. Rooms were spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. The shower pressure was excellent. But most importantly, the staff were always helpful and nice. I highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms and pool areas are fantastic. What lets the hotel down is the speed of the staff. We waited long periods for drinks by the pool and in the bar at night. We also asked for our bill 3 times before we went to walk out after waiting half an hour. We came here for a special occasion after staying at the Pestana Rio Atlantica, the remainder of our holiday. The rooms and facilities at the Fairmont are far superior, but the service and prices are far better at Pestana. Both have excellent locations and views on Copacabana Beach. Another small detail is non smoking policies by the pool at Pestana are far better.

I stayed 15 nights at Fairmont Rio, and my experience was extremely disappointing. As a Black woman, I was repeatedly treated differently from other guests. Each time I went to the Spirit Copa Bar by the pool, staff demanded my room number, phone, and even email — making me feel as if I didn’t belong there. Meanwhile, white friends who visited me were never asked any questions, even though they weren’t guests at the hotel. When I raised this with a manager, instead of apologizing, he insisted it was “standard procedure.” Clearly, it was a procedure applied only to me. To make things worse, after I returned home, I found an unauthorized charge of USD $7,726.97 on my credit card from this hotel, even though my stay was already fully paid. This was supposed to be a luxury vacation, but instead it became emotionally draining and deeply hurtful. No guest should go through discrimination or financial abuse like this.

We were a little worried about going to Rio with some of the advisories, but we had an amazing trip. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, the dining and shopping amazing and the beaches unparalleled. My husband even forgot his phone in a cab and it was returned within the hour! Went to a fotbol game and the experience was awesome. We would highly recommend Rio and the Fairmont.

O hotel é excelente. Unico problema é check in e check out. Os funcionarios ficam exauridos devido a demanada e pouca quantidade de operadores. As filas, em finais de semana, são kilometricas, inclusive para fazer copias de chave. Lamentavel, pois hotel é excelente. Era so contratar mais operadores.

The hotel is in a prime location. The view from the pool is spectacular. The service at the restaurants was wonderful, especially Marcelo who took care of us 2 nights. The rooms are nice. The hotel is clean. Breakfast is delicious! Tropik, the beachfront beach club serves some of the best food we had the entire trip. We recommend trying the main restaurant, bar menu & Tropik. All were excellent. We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. We felt safe the whole time. It was just beautiful. Highly recommend!
