Firstly directions from Kyoto Station - come out of the Hachijo West exit of the station and look for the Avanti shopping complex. Cross the road from the station side and walk straight ahead with the Avanti on your left. Walk for about 6 minutes until you see a green sign with a P on it. Turn immediately right into the street opposite the sign. The hotel is a couple of doors down. This hotel suited our purposes. Close to Kyoto Station. We received a warm welcome and checked in without any issues. Yes, the room was small but there was space between the end of the bed and the door. We had 2 suitcases, one carry on size and the other medium size. We were able to put both open under the end of the bed. There is a sink in the room and toilets are just down the hall. The bathrooms are on the ground floor. Bed was comfortable and the WiFi good. I liked the fact we could open the window for fresh air. On reception level there is plenty of communal seating where you can make tea and grind beans for coffee. There are also tables and chairs where you can bring your own food. If you’d like to make a cuppa in your room there are kettles you can borrow. We stayed 5 nights and would definitely recommend.

This hotel is great. It was close to the train station and check-in was very easy. The rooms were clean and well laid out. They provided free coffee and tea in the lobby and the atmosphere was lovely to sit and enjoy. The public bath was clean and very nice.

This hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and is steps from a subway station and bus stop, and about a 7 minute walk to Kyoto Station and a mall. There are a few restaurants nearby. To echo other reviews, the room is small; it would be great for a solo traveller, but if you're two people, it works as long as you're organized. The shared washroom on our floor and the public bath/showers were always clean. The public bath closes midday and late at night for cleaning but this was never an issue for us. Laundry machines were free to use. Tea and coffee were available from morning until evening around 11pm when the common area closed. The hotel does not provide as many amenities as others like skin care and toothbrushes. Overall it was a comfortable stay!

The property is spotless, comfortable, modern, the bed is comfortable and l loved the onsen. My only area that needs improvement is the customet service. The reception staff dont acknowledge your presence, they dont ask you if you need help, they assume guests know where things are, or how to use the hot water, cofffee etc. They are not helpful, not kind, l stayed for 4 nights and not one smile or hello from a staff member. The reception area/ lounge feels cold and unwelcoming and like we are not welcome, l was literally tip toeing around. Horrible feeling.

当日のゲストによると思いますが、廊下の音が結構響きます。 トイレもワンフロアに一箇所(女性２人分)のみで部屋の数の割に少ないので、夜は結構汚れていることもある。大浴場が綺麗だった。ベッドは広くて窓もあり快適。 部屋入口の水道部分かエアコンか異臭が気になった。

The facility was very nice. The bathrooms/showers were clean. and the bedrooms were fine but the one thing that grossed me out was the rug in the hallway. I'm not sure if every floor's rug was a dirty as ours but it was very dirtyand gross. It didn't match the rest of the buliding. I also loved having the tea options.

We had a great stay at this hotel in Kyoto. The room was comfortable and well equipped, with a sink and everything we needed. We didn’t mind not having a private toilet or shower, as the shared facilities were very clean and clearly well maintained. You can tell the hotel takes great care in keeping everything in excellent condition. I hope they continue offering this high level of service for a long time

Très bon séjour Check in et out rapide. La chambre est petite mais parfaite pour une personne. Il y a du rangement et de la place sous le lit pour la valise. La salle de douche est accessible avec un code d’entrée et les cabines de douche propre. Il y a même un bain chaud ( style onsen) en libre service. Un must! Une salle de repos est dispo à l’accueil avec eau, thé et café gratuit. On peut manger de la nourriture de l’extérieur. L’hôtel se trouve à une station en métro de Kyoto ou 15 min à pied. Très pratique.

I needed a place to stay overnight in Kyoto, and found Sakura Terrace The Atelier as it was quite near the station. As I walked down the corridor to my room, I was a little worried as I could hear voices from the rooms I passed by, but once I stepped into the room - I believe the sound proofing was done well because the room was as quiet as it should be. The room was comfy, simple and practical, and amenities provided were more than sufficient. The first floor serves free coffee and tea, and also offers magazines and books for you to browse through. Overall I enjoyed my stay and slept really well, and would love to be back again!

The property is ok. You get what you pay. The staff is not the most friendly however. When we arrived to check in (after 10 PM) the front desk lady told us that the check in closed at 10 pm. Probably I’m not very familiar with Japanese customs regarding check in times, but I haven’t had the same experience in other properties across the country. I didn’t found any other information about that in our checkin information. She checked us in anyway, but in the most unfriendly manner. The same cold attitude was received during our two night stay.

On reception level there is plenty of communal seating where you can make tea and grind beans for coffee. There are also tables and chairs where you can bring your own food. If you’d like to make a cuppa in your room there are kettles you can borrow. We stayed 5 nights and would definitely recommend.

The location is great, close to Kyoto Station and Kujo Station. It is also near Aeon Mall, for food and shopping. It was easy for me to get out and explore. Rio, the lady who checked me in, is so sweet and helpful. If you have any questions or need anything, be sure to ask her. Rio is very kind and patient and answered all my questions and also efficiently helped me ship a piece of luggage to my next hotel. There is another lady at the front desk whose attitude was a little cold. My room was small but big enough for me. I stayed on the fourth floor and the hallway had a strange smell (possibly coming from the air vents?) but my room didn’t have that same smell and I was able to open a window. It’d be even better if each floor were separated by gender and had showers on each floor, that way I would’ve been able to go to the shower area wearing only a towel. Overall, this was a cheap place for me to stay a couple nights in a great, convenient location.

Overall the hotel was nice, the Onsen was great to have after lots of walking, my only complaint was with the staff, we had 2 bookings and the second one was supposed to be a bigger room, but it ended up being the exact same room, we told this to the staff thinking there was an error but they gaslight us saying that we were wrong and that the new room was in fact bigger and better, they were exactly the same

Firstly directions from Kyoto Station - come out of the Hachijo West exit of the station and look for the Avanti shopping complex. Cross the road from the station side and walk straight ahead with the Avanti on your left. Walk for about 6 minutes until you see a green sign with a P on it. Turn immediately right into the street opposite the sign. The hotel is a couple of doors down. This hotel suited our purposes. Close to Kyoto Station. We received a warm welcome and checked in without any issues. Yes, the room was small but there was space between the end of the bed and the door. We had 2 suitcases, one carry on size and the other medium size. We were able to put both open under the end of the bed. There is a sink in the room and toilets are just down the hall. The bathrooms are on the ground floor. Bed was comfortable and the WiFi good. I liked the fact we could open the window for fresh air. This hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and is steps from a subway station and bus stop, and about a 7 minute walk to Kyoto Station and a mall. There are a few restaurants nearby. To echo other reviews, the room is small; it would be great for a solo traveller, but if you're two people, it works as long as you're organized. The shared washroom on our floor and the public bath/showers were always clean. The public bath closes midday and late at night for cleaning but this was never an issue for us. Laundry machines were free to use. Tea and coffee were available from morning until evening around 11pm when the common area closed. The hotel does not provide as many amenities as others like skin care and toothbrushes. Overall it was a comfortable stay!

This was a great location for a great price if you want to be close to Kyoto station for easy Shinkansen access. The older temples and Gion district are about 30 minutes to an hour away by bus which isn't hard, but can be a little crowded at times. The bathroom and washing ammenities are limited (shared floor bathroom and an onsen for washing), but for a few days stay is fine if you don't mind the lack of total privacy. The downstairs lobby area was a great place to have morning coffee and do some computer work if you needed. Well worth it for the location!

The property is spotless, comfortable, modern, the bed is comfortable and l loved the onsen. My only area that needs improvement is the customet service. The reception staff dont acknowledge your presence, they dont ask you if you need help, they assume guests know where things are, or how to use the hot water, cofffee etc. They are not helpful, not kind, l stayed for 4 nights and not one smile or hello from a staff member. The reception area/ lounge feels cold and unwelcoming and like we are not welcome, l was literally tip toeing around. Horrible feeling.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich ausgezeichnet. Hervorzuheben ist, dass man bei den kostenlosen Heißgetränken in der Lobby tatsächlich eine sehr gute Auswahl an hochwertigen Tees hat. Auch die Auswahl an Bier (gegen Gebühr) ist erstaunlich gut. Weltenburger und Liefman's Fruitesse hätte ich nicht erwartet.

Nice hotel in kyoto with really small rooms, albeit with a comfortable bed and pillows... close to subway and buses and is easy to get to the sites of kyoto. Not much in the way of restaurants or markets in the area...a little out of the way... they have a lovely tea and coffee bar that is very nice. While there is no kitchen they have plates and utensils, a microwave and toaster oven to cook in. Highly recommend this hotel

各４台あった洗濯機と乾燥機が一晩中利用、もしくは終わっていても所有者が引き取りに来ない等で、結局私は洗濯は終えても乾燥出来ずに濡れた衣類を持ち帰る羽目となった。もっとランドリー環境を特に京都エリアは得策を考えて欲しい。

エントランスや共有ラウンジがとてもお洒落な空間でとても素敵でした。お部屋はコンパクトながらも使いやすい間取りになっており、トイレと大浴場が共有でも問題なく快適に過ごせました。 また東寺にも徒歩で行けるので、朝イチの空いている時間帯にじっくり拝観することが出来てとても便利な立地でした。 次回もまた宿泊させていただきます。ありがとうございました。

This was our first time in Japan. We stayed at 5 different hotels over 2 weeks and my son and I thought this was the best. Even though the room was quite small to American standards, the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms and communal showers were clean, private, and exceeded our expectations. It really helped to be able to do laundry at no additional cost. They had water and ice in the lobby. The staff were great. The location was 5-10 minutes from Kyoto Station and easy to find. Overall this was a great place and we would stay there again.
