Overall, the hotel was conveniently close to Perrache station, as well as various places to eat. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I would stay here again, but there are one or two things I would note: 1. Breakfast was ok, but didn't think was that great. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby I would recommend more highly. 2. There is no elevator. The stairs aren't too bad, but a little steep. 3. The staff were friendly, but not all the staff spoke English that well, but did try to understand. So the use of translation apps would be useful.

I came in for one night for a personal event, and I booked this hotel for the first time. Its a lovely place, situated so nicely in central Lyon with super easy access to Metro, Tram and train station. They have done a great job in renovation, keeping the old world charm with new amenities. The staff is super friendly, speaks English very well, know the city and are very helpful. The breakfast is lovely and for a nice stay in Lyon this is a great choice hotel. The only thing is that there is no elevator so you have to carry your suitcase upstairs. But the staircase is wide and not steep.

Good value. Near a metro station but not as central as staying near Bellecour. Good experience but i was disappointed that: 1) i was told to bring,my car to the hotel to get instructions on parking but there was nowhere to stop at the hotel so i had to double -park which was extremely stressful and 2) i was given incorrect information about the closest grocery store

We arrived as a couple, staying for 3 nights in July. Parking is available across the road in a public indoor car park. The service at reception was very helpful, showing us to our top floor room on the 5th floor and explaining the procedure with paying for our parking. The temperature was 31 degrees but the room was air conditioned. The facilities were very nice. Buffet breakfast was enjoyable and the member of staff ensured food was replenished. The hotel was situated within a 25 minute walk from the old town, but had plenty of nice restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

D'abord le personnel d'accueil est d'une rare gentillesse. L'hôtel bénéficie ensuite d'une situation géographique idéale. Les chambres sont propres et calmes. Matilda was exceptional in her customer service. Only negative is there is no lift. Not good for us as no assistance to get luggage upstairs. Will check before booking next time.

Room was dirty, the bathroom smelt of urine as the toilet seat was wood and rotting. The tiles in the shower were full of mold. The room smelt. The only positives where the staff were friendly and helpful and the location is good.

We stayed in the family room with 1 big bed and 2 single beds (bunkbeds). The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was small but delicious. If I return to Lyon I would definitely stay at Hotelo Lyon Charite again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The friendly staff were extremely accommodating with any question or concern we had. The room was spotless - very clean. The breakfast buffet was great with very adequate choices. We had it most mornings. The location was excellent- just across the street from the Perrache train station and the tram station. It was also very walkable to Vieux Lyon and Place Bellecour. We would stay here again.

From a quite small hotel in a great location. The building itself seems to be quite old, and the door to the room provides very little sound isolation. In the same way, the bathroom door was slightly crooked and had a doorknob that was unreasonably hard to turn for opening from the inside. Our room was facing the inner courtyard and was thus excempt from outside noise. Weirder thing is that the room is opening with a physical key, and that you have to leave the key in the lobby when exiting the hotel, very old-school. Breakfast seemed quite sparse, and therefore we didn't try it, so maybe we are wrong. The hotel is spread over two floors a without an elevator, so there is a possibility that one has to carry the luggage up a staircase.

Séjour d’une nuit dans le cadre d’un voyage d’affaires. Chambre bien entretenue, jolie décoration. Café soluble et thé très appréciable en chambre. Literie confortable. La chambre donnée sur une route très passante donc il y avait le bruit de la circulation ( tout de même atténué par le double vitrage).

To keep the room cool we had to open the window. We had tram and traffic noise since we had a street front room. It was a great location. Restaurants and shops and parks and street markets were all close by.

Excellent location close to the Perrache train station and Vieux Lyon. Very walkable. Lots of dining options nearby. Staff at the hotel were fantastic, responsive and friendly. The reception and dining area were charming and designed to appeal. Breakfast was delicious!

L'hôtel est bien situé, à quelques minutes à pied des tramway T1, T2 et du métro A. Il y a également de nombreux restaurants à proximité. Le personnel est sympathique et la chambre est propre et bien équipée. Nous avons pu avoir un lit parapluie pour notre fille en demandant lors de la réservation. Nous reviendrons sûrement à l'occasion d'un prochain voyage à Lyon !

Never have we felt so welcome and at-home at a hotel as at this one. Myriam and Mathilda were warm, welcoming, pleasant, helpful in many ways, from finding us a room despite our early arrival, helping us with local sightseeing and eating options, stowing away our luggage after checkout. The room was a bit tight but well laid out and very clean. The air conditioning worked very well, a great plus since our visit coincided with an intense heat wave. The place lacked an elevator, but there was only 1 story so no big deal to walk, and Myriam had whisked our heavy suitcase up the stairs before i even realized what was happening. Never have we felt so welcome and at-home at a hotel as at this one. Myriam and Mathilda were warm, welcoming, pleasant, helpful in many ways, from finding us a room despite our early arrival, helping us with local sightseeing and eating options, stowing away our luggage after checkout. The room was a bit tight but well laid out and very clean. The air conditioning worked very well, a great plus since our visit coincided with an intense heat wave. The place lacked an elevator, but there was only 1 story so no big deal to walk, and Myriam had whisked our heavy suitcase up the stairs before i even realized what was happening. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Perrache train and bus station, and well within walking distance to the Vieux Lyon old city and its amazing sights. Very pleasant stay. We chose this hotel because it is close to the part of the river Rhone from which river cruises depart and return. It is across the bridge on the peninsula but it was an easy walk with our luggage. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was very good. The hotel allowed us to leave our luggage for free for several hours on the day of our cruise, when we could not board until after 3pm, and we used their services on our return (for a fee) to store our bags until the evening because we had a very late flight. The hotel is about a 5-7 minute walk from the nearest metro stations (either Lyon Perrache or Ampere Voctor Hugo.

L'hôtel est bien situé, à quelques minutes à pied des tramway T1, T2 et du métro A. Il y a également de nombreux restaurants à proximité. Le personnel est sympathique et la chambre est propre et bien équipée. Nous avons pu avoir un lit parapluie pour notre fille en demandant lors de la réservation. Nous reviendrons sûrement à l'occasion d'un prochain voyage à Lyon !

Staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. I had the ground floor room, which was flush with the road and sidewalk. I was concerned that it would be very noisy, but the double windows effectively eliminated the noise, and the air conditioning unit meant that the room didn’t get stuffy with the windows closed. Lovely continental breakfast in the little ground floor nook. This isn’t the best area of town (nor is it the worst), but as it is by the train/bus station it is very convenient for those who have an early morning departure. Would recommend overall.

To keep the room cool we had to open the window. We had tram and traffic noise since we had a street front room. It was a great location. Restaurants and shops and parks and street markets were all close by.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The friendly staff were extremely accommodating with any question or concern we had. The room was spotless - very clean. The breakfast buffet was great with very adequate choices. We had it most mornings. The location was excellent- just across the street from the Perrache train station and the tram station. It was also very walkable to Vieux Lyon and Place Bellecour. We would stay here again.

We arrived as a couple, staying for 3 nights in July. Parking is available across the road in a public indoor car park. The service at reception was very helpful, showing us to our top floor room on the 5th floor and explaining the procedure with paying for our parking. The temperature was 31 degrees but the room was air conditioned. The facilities were very nice. Buffet breakfast was enjoyable and the member of staff ensured food was replenished. The hotel was situated within a 25 minute walk from the old town, but had plenty of nice restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Such a cozy hotel! You feel right at home and the staff is so sweet. It is a small hotel, so it is not over-crowded. The bed was soft with great pillows and the room overall was clean and inviting. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
