Hyatt House Portland Airport

The hotel looked to be under renovation during my stay as the pool was closed and other amenities were in the same condition.

Hotel is dated. Check in was a cold process. There is no restaurant on premises.

Above average cheap hotel. A bit dated but comfortable and convenient. A huge bonus was the free Lyft pick up and drop off at the airport. Also very reasonable long term parking.

Tried to check in at 2:30, they wanted to charge me 25.00 for earlycheck in. There check in is 4pm, everyware else is 3pm. Rooms are nice, staff is good. Restaurant is still closed, bar is still closed.

No airport shuttle service

Glad to hear there’s a renovation coming. Hotel paid for Lyft to and from the airport and Lyft was reliable and responsive.

This hotel is open during construction (remodeling) and rebranding from the classic Shilo Inn. Pool and restaurant were closed. Still, it was nice for the price, and so too was the staff.

The gym equipment were dirty like housekeeping doesn’t go in there to clean. The A/C in the gym was not working. We tried to wash clothes but there’s no laundry detergent available nor there were any for sale in the hotel. They told us we can go to the store to buy some. We were visiting Portland and flying out the next day. We weren’t gonna buy a whole bottle of detergent! The best thing about this property is the free parking.

The property is older but the rooms are very nice with a king bed in a separated room by a wall with a glass insert. My room had 3 televisions, microwave, fridge, 3 sinks, kitchen table, desk, sofa, chair, iron and in wall ironing board. There is a gym and a sauna.

Stayed now twice. Very clean, comfy bed and convenient.

The check in staff was wonderful, very friendly. When I booked it showed a pool, that when I got there was closed, very limited gym… no in hotel restaurant and my room wasn’t clean. There was gunk on the walls, bed sheets were dirty

The smell was atrocious, damaged rooms, doors, and the filth was disgusting. There was trash on floors in hallway and in the room. If we had arrived earlier than midnight, I would have left immediately but needed to sleep for a couple hours before flight. Everything was shut down, including restaurant, soda machines and again the filth was unbearable. Service was rude and abrupt and not friendly.

The room was nice and clean

Ok, Suites is an over statement. In 1980 it was suites. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The rooms were older but like I said clean. The hallways and lobby would have benefited from the use of a vacuum. The ice maker had ice one day but none the second. The other “guests might have left a little to be desired, if they were guests at all. The front doors never shut. The outside and parking lot looked as if they were never cleaned. Out room had a 19 inch Magnavox television set, just like the one we had when I was 8, in the seventies. There was a larger flat screen if you wanted to sit on the bed to watch TV. I don’t know that I will stay here again but our room was clean and livable for two days.

This building is “fine” but is old and needs a ton of updating. Half the light switches in the room didn’t work, none of the ice machines on any floor worked (some weren’t even hooked up), and the room had a grimy feel. Worst part was our sheets hadn’t been changed. Not a place we’ll go back to!

There were visible stains on the furniture in the room, in front of the elevator and in the hall way that had been there a while. There was not bag in the ice bucket in the room. It was ok for a night for an early morning flight but it looked rundown. The bed appeared clean and was comfortable. Oh and there was a large 19" Magnavox TV in the "living room", it looked past it's prime but still worked. You get what you pay for, i just wanted to get some sleep close to PDX.

Very roomy, bed was comfortable and hotel was very quiet. Perfect for my weekend stay in Portland. I will return!

There was a big room adjacent to the beds separated by a glass wall which was unexpected. The TV wouldn't work with the remote and when it was turned on by hand there was no way to change the station. The airport is close by (less than 10 minute drive) but that made the room somewhat noisy. The price was $92. We didn't want to go out to eat but if we did, I don't think there was much available close by.

Room was huge for the price. There were three sinks… bathroom, kitchenette, and one by the entrance not really sure why. Two TVs, one by the couch and one in front of the bed. Only thing is the clock and telephone look like they’re from the 80s.

Huge rooms

I'd love to give this a five, but the internet service there was un-usable. Waaaaaay too slow and intermittent for my entire 7 day stay. I had to use my cell phone and tether in order to join conf. calls for work. Property itself is not bad. A little dated, but again, not bad. It used to be a Shilo Inn, which is one of the PNW's better hotel brands.

The suite is spacious and great for a family with their own supplies. There's a sink, microwave, clean-but-small coffee maker and fridge. Tons of counter and closet space. Bring extra hangers if you have a lot of clothes that need to be hung up. Huge bathroom with hair dryer. Ironing board and iron. Even the carpet seems clean. AC/heat is excellent and not super noisy but a nice drone for sleeping. The coffee provided is weak, as you'd expect, and there is only non-dairy creamer. So BYO stuff. Only chamomile tea available. There's apparently a restaurant, but I'm not interested in a hotel breakfast. Decor is late 80's schlock, but it is clean. Some of the lights in the room don't work, so more lamps would be good. The lamps do have plugs and we are able to charge everything. Beds are comfortable and clean, Overall satisfied with this place and we feel comfortable here. It was very quiet last night.

The property itself is a bit run down and appears to be undergoing some renovation, but my room was excellent, and huge. It was really more than I needed and would have been better for a couple or small family. Excellent value for what I paid (under $80 after tax and fees). There were some issues with the shower that need to be addressed — the faucet leaked and the diverter was broken, so I could only use the shower head. Not a huge problem, and the bathroom was large, clean, and well-stocked. I used the guest laundry and it was decent, with credit card readers on the machines and an option to pay with your phone. Someone called my room in the middle of the night and asked for housekeeping. I have no idea how that would happen, and I’m willing to blame the caller for the disturbance. This place was kind of like two different hotels on the same property — one really nice one inside the room, and a much less nice one outside. One of the elevators was broken, the one I used had some broken parts on it, the hallways were dirty, housekeeping was working well into the evening. But I was more than happy to deal with all that for the low price, and the place was quiet. My note to all hotels from this day forward is to get streaming services on your TVs. Flipping through cable channels is insane in 2025.

The room was large and comfortable

Room was a large suite with microwave and refrigerator. Bed was a very comfortable king. The room was very clean but very worn. There appears to be little insulation between rooms and between floors. It was a very noisy night!

Rebecca at the front desk was friendly and efficient. She was able to get me checked quickly and answered all my questions.

Staff was friendly and made it easy to get to our room right a way.

Some of the staff are nice, others seem to be tweaking on stimulants of some kind, the woman at the front desk said she didnt know how to check people in but kept asking for info on my reservation, she couldnt remember answers to questions asked 30 seconds before was shaking and struggled to put room keys int enveloped, she had a huge stack of keys and was staring really intently at each one then looking at some piece of paper while sort of rocking back and forth, i asked her if someone could help me, she said maybe in 15 minutes, because the other worker who knew how to use the computer had to go to the bathroom and wouldnt be back for 15 mins but then asked me if i reserved through expedia, finally another worker came to help but also seemed very distracted maybe also high had me fill out a form with all my car info, license plate etc which i did, then she asked me if i had a car, after i had just filled out the form. I told her i had just given her the form she said “oh yeah i have to give you a parking pass” she asked the other worker “what the hell did you do with my sharpie whats wrong with you?” the other worker said “its our sharpie not just yours” then the worker said “how is your day going?” the other worker said “im fine but i dont know how to do these things” i asked them “are you going to give me the parking pass?” the worker said “we’re just joking around we’re friends” i said “ok am i free to go then” she said “i have to write out a parking pass in sharpie”

Very rude staff. No housekeeping even after requesting for it—they said they are understaffed. Some lamps were not working. I had a terrible experience. I do not recommend. Avoid it. And they make you pay first so you can’t leave.

Excellent stay. Well located and convenient for shopping, dining, and transportation. Well run, clean, and very courteous and helpful staff.

Staff r great

The manager and staff were very helpful. There was always someone at the front desk. Room was much bigger and nicer than expected. I’m a regular traveler through PDX and this is now my go to hotel from now on.

This is the fourth time I’ve stayed at this hotel within the past couple of months while visiting my son in Portland. This time was probably the most disappointing. The check-in process is way too slow and at check in time there are generally is only one person the overall condition of the room looks clean When you first walk in, but on further inspection, the shower was dirty. The shower curtain had holes in it and the carpet on the third floor is terrible and smells very old. Although I love this hotel, and the proximity it has to everything, I believe that next time I would make a different choice.

There wasn't anything particular that set this property above any other similar properties. It was good for the price and nearby the airport. We did not find a good restaurant nearby, just a diner like restaurant. I don't think I would feel comfortable walking in the area.

Liked the location of this hotel. It would be nice to have water available in the vending machine as none was provided in the room. Price was great!

Not the most modern place but the rooms are large and comfortable. Easy parking and close to the airport. Would book again.

Great location

This property is under renovation but fully open. Parking is easy and close to main entrance. My suite faced a greenbelt between two hotels so was very quiet. Hotel is accessed (as are many others in this area) off NE Airport Way so car access is a traffic horror especially at rush hour. First room smelled like smoke to me although hotel is officially non-smoking. I learned that the first assigned floor (2nd floor) accepts pets, so that might be what the smell was. Second assigned room was on 3rd floor and had no smell. Suite room was very large with 2 TVs although only one worked. Hotel had great wi-fi and staff at check-in and checkout were very friendly and helpful. Nearest restaurants are about a 10 minute walk.

More parking and room space than expected. More quiet than expected for so close to the airport.

The hotel and restaurant are undergoing renovations. The only inconvenience is you'll need to leave the hotel to get something to eat. There are food options within walking distance. There's security overnight and it's close to the airport.

Previously this was the Shilo Inn, the rooms are very spacious and enjoyable. Furniture is older but still in decent shape. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was clean, the bathtub base itself was old and very shallow. Restaurant was currently under renovation, they did offer coffee at the front desk.

Room smelled of stale Cigar and the carpet felt crummy. It is a very large room though and the bed was very well worn but the sheets and pillows were clean. No breakfast paid or complementary ( restaurant being renovated) although they do offer coffee at all times. No airport shuttle told to take an uber Lyft about $20 for 3 miles . Nothing really in the area other businesses closed for remodel. $75 deposit and a parking pass for your car .

We flew into Portland late at night and were happy to drive a short distance from the airport to the hotel. There was confusion because the website mentioned breakfast, yet there wasn’t any. The room was clean and the staff members were friendly.

The hotel was listed as having an on site restaurant and it doesn’t . We were told they had lost their contract. It also listed an airport shuttle. It didn’t have one and ordered Lyfts for us. That didn’t work in either direction

It would be nice if they had breakfast
