clean, location wise there's a 7 eleven nearby. The private onsen in the balcony is very nice. Common onsen has a jacuzzi and a sauna. Swimwear is required in the common onsen which was convenient for our group. Would definitely book here again!

This was a lovely hotel. The shuttles they run are very helpful. The restaurant was delicious. The foot bath happy hour outside looking at the river was fantastic. We had a "private onsen" room but it was really a bathtub on the deck (more sento), not groundwater, but still very nice. The hotel onsen is also a very nice spa, but not an onsen in the traditional sense. The pricing was higher when we checked out than represented on Expedia so FYI.

Really beautiful property tucked into the side of the mountain. Private onsen on the balcony overlooking the river and mountains was a dream. The public onsen was fabulous, I didn't want to leave! Easy walk up the hidden stairs to get to Gora restaurants and the ropeway over Mt hakone to see the lake and shrines. The on site restaurant was pretty good, too, I loved the chef tasting menu. 24 hour gym and room service. Everything you could want in a hotel!

Fantastic staff. Free shuttle bus from/to Odawara station. Very organised. Stunning spacious room with wonderful amenities. River view and private onsen beautiful. Public footbath and onsen (swimwear required!). Great location for using Hakone Free pass - there is even a quiet, walkable 20 minute shortcut to Gora train, funicular/cable car station if you are fit enough for lots of steep steps and want a lovely leafy walk! Restaurant in the evening was great- a little suited to western tastes including vegan. There is also a convenience store opposite the driveway.

Our party of 11 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything from check-in to all the facilities were all amazing experiences. Their shuttle bus service was great, nothing to be concerned about at all. The shared facilities are the best we've seen on in the trip including a much needed 24 hour gym. In addition, the rooms are to die for, really happy we stated and would do so again on our next trip! Thanks!

到着時の応接から、帰るまでスタッフの対応はホスピタリティに溢れた素晴らしい対応で感心しました。夕食、朝食共に施設内レストランでの提供でしたが、こちらも美味しいとか言いようがない程の美味しさでした。近隣にある他の施設も使った事がありますが、次元の異なる美味しさだと思います。客室も清潔で、使いやすい仕組みとなっています。ベットも好みの固さで良く眠れました。客室のお風呂も温泉を引き込んでおり、湯浴みを楽しめました。改善ができるならと思う点は、風呂場の水捌けに工夫が居ると思う川側は景観が残念に感じる。川向こうの建物が近く、景観を損ねている事、露天なので簾を落として入らざるを得ず、結果的に景観については、無かった事にせざるを得ないです。以外は、パーフェクトな施設です。また美味しい食事と心地よいサービスを受けに行きたいと思います。

The restaurant dinner is average only. A bit disappointing with the upgraded wagu steak. Also there was a big cockcroach at the pillow in one of the bed at the hotel room. This caused bad experience and couldnt sleep thinking of bugs in the room.

The room was a bit dirty. When we checked into our room, we discovered the toilet seat had an existing pee spot. We had to wipe it. The shower glass door had water stains which tells me that it hasn’t cleaned for awhile. The shower tiles had mold. So cleanliness wasn’t up to par. The property is welcoming and beautiful though. It has a variety of food for the breakfast selection.

my husband and i came to the Hotel Indigo Hakone for a night during our honeymoon. this stay was definitely a highlight of our trip. the room was absolutely gorgeous with our private outdoor bath. the surrounding area was beautiful to look at. we had a very relaxing time and experienced great service from the staff. we also enjoyed the convenience of the free shuttle bus from the odawara station.

Nice modern hotel with good facilities and attentive staff. Good selection of Japanese and western food. Not really walkable from Gora due very steep steps down narrow path to hotel. Road has no pavement. Hotel offer regular shuttle service to and from both Goya and Odawara. Hotel is next to river Haya river but several sluce gates directly outside make a lot of noise noticeable from within room.

Beautiful, classically decorated interior spaces and my room looked at an area of forest covered mountain. Breakfast was lovely with a nice mix of Japanese and western selections (and a beautifully decorated cappuccino). Staff was incredibly friendly at check-in and check out. Room was clean and elegantly appointed. The bathroom was unbelievable Overhead rain shower and a soaking bath. Immaculate tiles. Main drawback is that the hotel is situated at the end of a fairly poor street in an urban area without any access to green space (the mountain behind the property is quite steep and without any walking area).

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. We booked a room with a private onsen on the balcony and a river view. The high price matched the type of room and the hotel, and we expected a pampering experience — but it turned out to be a major disappointment. Right across the river, directly facing the balcony, there is an active construction site. The noise is terrible, and the view is especially unpleasant and completely lacking any sense of tranquility. Soaking in the private onsen was accompanied by unbearable loud noise — the exact opposite of what you’d want after a day of sightseeing. We complained at the front desk and learned that the hotel was fully booked. As compensation for the inconvenience, we received a box of cookies. I’m not sure what was more insulting and frustrating - marketing the room as a luxurious onsen experience, or getting cookies as compensation along with the manager’s very sincere apology. The next morning, at 10:30, just as we were about to leave the room for our day trip, we got a call from the front desk saying a different room had become available. We didn’t want to waste the morning packing and moving, so we declined. Days in Hakone are short, it gets dark early, and every minute counts. Additionally, there were three of us in the room, and the pull-out sofa was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress felt like something you’d find on a camping trip. The hotel itself is great. Really well designed rooms with thoughtful touches. The staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating. The shuttle bus was reliable which is helpful as you’re not within easy walking distance of nearby restaurants although there is an excellent sushi restaurant on the other side of the river I recommend walking to. What did impact my experience however was the terrible soundproofing of the rooms. I could hear the elevator noises, guests walking above me, other rooms pouring baths and very clearly the guests staying next door who decided to have a “loud party” until the early hours with screams throughout the afternoon and evening. You will be able to hear conversations and guests using their bathroom. It’s a huge shame as you check in to this hotel for peace and tranquility. I overheard other guests share the same remarks during breakfast. Unfortunately for the soundproofing I am unable to recommend it.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and looked after my needs during my brief stay. They were able to recommend available services, and were accommodating to any needs I had. The room at the hotel was designed for comfort, and was clean and organized once I was ready for check in. The use of smart technology and smart devices was also convenient, as it made it easy to control the various devices in the hotel room right from my bedside. The private onsen bath was also very convenient and comfortable for myself as a solo traveler.

My partner and I are experienced travelers, but unfortunately, we found this hotel to be quite disappointing considering its price. Here’s why: • Our room wasn’t cleaned when we returned at 5 pm. Surprisingly, the reception staff claimed that we had declined cleaning for environmental reasons, even though no one asked us during check-in. We had to request them to at least clean the garbage, change the towels and give us two bottles of water (seems like greenwashing). • The hotel’s location is inconvenient; they need to pick you up and drive you to Gora. When we called for a pickup, we were kept on hold and nothing happened, so we had to take a taxi. • The fish of the day at dinner was the same on both days. • The hotel’s surroundings felt more like an industrial area. • The service was impersonal, and the staff seemed more like on the field work. I hope this feedback doesn’t come across as overly negative, but compared to our previous stays at two excellent hotels, our experience here was quite disappointing.

Absolutely loved our stay at the hotel Indigo Gora. We stayed for one night. Highlights were the public onsen spa and the spa tub in the hotel room. We made a reservation for dinner at the hotel and the food was wonderful! Breakfast was also lovely. Staff were helpful and very kind. Our only negative was the advice from the front desk about suggesting we take the hotel shuttle to odawara, instead of the train. They quoted it would take 45 mins door to door, and said it was faster than taking the train. We allowed loads of time (1hr45mins) for us to get to our Shinkansen train in odawara. The shuttle was as so incredibly slow! Inching along the road, with mostly one way roads so you had to wait for oncoming traffic to pass first. We bus took 1hour45 mins exactly. We missed our train by 5 mins which was very frustrating after allowing so much time to get there, and we had to book another train to Tokyo where there was only availability 2 hours later. Strongly recommend going via the train, it’s much faster than taking the hotel shuttle.

While the room was comfortable and breakfast good, staff service was below average, especially at the front desk. They can’t seem to give information on things to do, make restaurant reservations and give off a vibe that they’re very unhappy working there. On one of the nights, my friend fell on the property road on her way to 7-11 due to insufficient lighting. They didn’t seem to care, and we had to search for clinics online for them to call. Finally one of the staff with better attitude brought some meds out. The next day, we wanted more meds for friend’s swollen ankle and the staff directed us to get them from 7-11. We asked if there was a pharmacy nearby and the staff said no. We found one just outside of the hotel. So stay here for the room and breakfast, but don’t expect much customer service.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Beautifully decorated, clean, new and spacious. Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Amazing service and facilities. Check-in process was so nice - we were seated in the nice lobby area while they took care of all paper works and luggage. Transportation from/to Odawara station made the trip so convenient. I can‘t say enough good things about this place and I would definitely go back.

not in a good location, have to walk up 300 stairs to Gora station. and even more chaotic with its very bad shuttle bus (its actually a 7 seats) arrangement during the check out period. river view room is quite noisy withe the small falls. staff is helpful but would be great if they smile a bit more

Was a good stay and the in room onsen was a bonus. Breakfast and dinner were great though the dinner menu was very similar over the two nights we dined there. Service levels were consistently good though it's odd that they didn't clean our room on the second day. Overall it was a good enjoyable stay. P.S. while the hotel is near Gora station on paper, the walk there is incredibly exhausting with steep stairs and an endless incline. So if you're bringing young ones along, do take note.

Very nice hotel, can walk up stairs (very steep) to Gora train and tram station, located on a river, very peaceful. Restaurant food good, bar is a nice place to sit and contemplate your trip. I would return if in the area again.

This hotel is beautiful. Love the decor. Very clean and loved the in room onsen. View was not the best. It wasn’t river view which would have been fabulous. The hotel is a 30 minute drive from Odawara Station. The hotel has a free shuttle service with limited time slots. For rest and relaxation this is a great hotel.

Free shuttle to Gora station. Room was great. plug outlets were not in convenient places. Footbath were nice near bar. Good selection for persons not used to Japanese food. Location is isolated and local restaurants only accepted cash. We found taxi best way to travel to resraurants.

Amazing dinner in the hotel restaurant. The Wagyu beef was melt in your mouth fantastic. Great wine. The private onsen was perfect and so relaxing at the end of the night. Super comfortable bed and spacious room. Wish I had booked two nights. My only complaint is the coffee in the room is more espresso style and I love a big hearty cup of coffee in the morning. The hotel doesn’t offer coffee in the lobby which is a bummer. We didn’t add breakfast just because we don’t usually do breakfast. Great hotel, would definitely stay here again.

They provide transportation from hotel to Gora station and from there the open air museum is super close. From gora station you take the cable car for the ropeway and pirate ship. The food is amazing

This property was fabulous. Just what we needed after a busy few days in Kyoto. Serene and lovely. The room was so very nice. Every detail covered. Staff was incredible. Excellent food- breakfast buffet amazing. Free shuttles to attractions and back to train station in Odawara. We loved this property. What a treat.
