Lovely pub with rooms out the back, very nice breakfast. The room was nice but a bit compact and lacked an easy access socket for phone charging. The bathroom facilities are definitely on the small side. But all in all good value.

The Prince Consort is a nice local pub which also has rooms for bed and breakfast. I enjoyed the full English breakfast, which included very good quality bacon and sausages and all the usual ingredients. The coffee was especially delicious. I was visiting for a family funeral which was catered for there too. The buffet for the wake was also very good.

Room I stayed in was in an annex. Despite it being one of the hottest days of the year, the room temperature was cool enough to sleep in. The pub was very busy at check in so it took a while c- but staff were very friendly, and apologetic

What a great fined, our room was a good size, lovely and clean as was the rest of the property. We had a meal which was excellent and looking around the other diner's were having equally as good meals. The staff were brilliant and very busy, we will definitely be back.

We arrived later on a friday evening...check in was in the pub itself at the bar, which was friendly and efficient. We we directed to our room which is located in the annex at the back of the pub itself. The room was clean and comfortable. Fresh towels and water bottles provided. Beds were very comfortable. We returned to the pub and managed to get a booking for a meal, which was much appreciated as the place was full of people eating. The meal itself was lovely, well presented, hot and very tasty. For breakfast we were asked what time we would like and were told it would be served in the pub. The breakfast was tasty, local products were used, staff were very friendly. Overall although we only stayed for one night as were going on a cruise next day, i would recommend the Prince Consort to others and would stay again without any reservations.

I stayed here for 1 night during a sailing course in Southampton August 2023, the staff were very kind and made sure I had everything I needed. The evening meal was way better than I would expect from a pub, you could tell the food there was popular with local people, the restaurant was nice and busy, and breakfast was 1st class, a top place to stay if you are in the area.

Room basic but nice and clean. Excellent shower. Bed comfy. We were nervous about potential of noise from pub but we stayed on a saturday night had absolutely no disturbance. Only problem in the room was lack of plug sockets. Breakfast excellent good quality produce, not fried, tasted lovely, served nice and hot!! Staff friendly and welcoming. Area surrounding seemed quiet, co-op in walking distance also could walk to the country park. Thanks, we had a comfortable 2 nights sleep with lovely food and would return again.

A great place if you wana drive down the night before your cruise as its close to the terminal! Nice freindly staff, food exellent! The room was basic but clean as was the bathroom. We where in a downstairs room so we had noisy upstairs occupants so when they walked across the room you could hear the footsteps and floorboards creaking! Fire alarm went off in the early hours but that cant be helped! Not a bad stay and i would stay there again. Highly recommend the fish&chips👌

My room, no 2, was cramped but clean. Had some issues, reading light not working, no plug in sink, light swich pull missing but I was only staying one night so put up with it. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and the complimentary toiletries were nice. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was OK. Not sure I would stay here again, I did not think the room I had represented particularly good value for money.

Boede her i to perioder (medio og ultimo juli 2024). Det første ophold var på 3 overnatninger. Her fik vi et værelse uden vindue - her regner jeg ikke et smalt vindue ud til fordelingsgang for en nødudgang. Brusekabinen var utilgængelig, da døren ikke kunne foldes helt op. Toilettet skyllede vanskeligt ud. Håndklæderne var tyndslidte. Det værste var dog, at udsugningen i badeværelset startede hver morgen kl. 5!!! Det næste ophold ultimo juli var en smule bedre. Vi havde et vindue, som kunne åbnes op benyttes som nødudgang. Toilettet skyllede ud og brusekabinens dør kunne åbnes helt. Ingen udsugning kl. 5 om natten - dog var håndklæderne stadig af rigtig dårlig kvalitet. Værelserne er ekstremt små. Der er ikke plads til at kunne gå rundt. Der er kun én stol på værelset. Positivt: sengene er gode - ikke særligt bløde. Der er god plads på parkeringspladsen. Værelset, som vises på billeder, var ikke blandt det bookede.

The greetings I had from staff when I arrived were totally amazing. So friendly and caring. I arrived 15 mins before they closed for lunch having driven nearly 3 hours and i ended up with the most delicious battered fish finger bagette. Salad, coleslaw abs chips. All for 8.95. Phenomenal. The room and facilities were an absolute delight and i was so comfy and slept really well. Breakfast was delicious and a generous checkout time of 11am. A hidden gem of a lovely traditional pub and accommodation. Just perfect 👌

My room, no 2, was cramped but clean. Had some issues, reading light not working, no plug in sink, light swich pull missing but I was only staying one night so put up with it. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and the complimentary toiletries were nice. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was OK. Not sure I would stay here again, I did not think the room I had represented particularly good value for money.

We were only booked for a one night stay following our arrival on the Queen Mary and heading to Dublin. We were able to enter our room early and enjoyed our dinner at the attached pub. Staff extremely helpful and enjoyed walking to the Abbey ruins.

Area surrounding seemed quiet, co-op in walking distance also could walk to the country park. Thanks, we had a comfortable 2 nights sleep with lovely food and would return again.

A great place if you wana drive down the night before your cruise as its close to the terminal! Nice freindly staff, food exellent! The room was basic but clean as was the bathroom. We where in a downstairs room so we had noisy upstairs occupants so when they walked across the room you could hear the footsteps and floorboards creaking! Fire alarm went off in the early hours but that cant be helped! Not a bad stay and i would stay there again. Highly recommend the fish&chips👌

We arrived later on a friday evening...check in was in the pub itself at the bar, which was friendly and efficient. We we directed to our room which is located in the annex at the back of the pub itself. The room was clean and comfortable. Fresh towels and water bottles provided. Beds were very comfortable. We returned to the pub and managed to get a booking for a meal, which was much appreciated as the place was full of people eating. The meal itself was lovely, well presented, hot and very tasty. For breakfast we were asked what time we would like and were told it would be served in the pub. The breakfast was tasty, local products were used, staff were very friendly. Overall although we only stayed for one night as were going on a cruise next day, i would recommend the Prince Consort to others and would stay again without any reservations.

I stayed here for 1 night during a sailing course in Southampton August 2023, the staff were very kind and made sure I had everything I needed. The evening meal was way better than I would expect from a pub, you could tell the food there was popular with local people, the restaurant was nice and busy, and breakfast was 1st class, a top place to stay if you are in the area.

Lovely pub with rooms out the back, very nice breakfast. The room was nice but a bit compact and lacked an easy access socket for phone charging. The bathroom facilities are definitely on the small side. But all in all good value.

The greetings I had from staff when I arrived were totally amazing. So friendly and caring. I arrived 15 mins before they closed for lunch having driven nearly 3 hours and i ended up with the most delicious battered fish finger bagette. Salad, coleslaw abs chips. All for 8.95. Phenomenal. The room and facilities were an absolute delight and i was so comfy and slept really well. Breakfast was delicious and a generous checkout time of 11am. A hidden gem of a lovely traditional pub and accommodation. Just perfect 👌

Great location. Not far from bus into Southampton in a nice quiet residential area by the water. Fabulous breakfast. Nice sized bathroom. Shower water slow draining and shower broken so couldn’t control temperature (water too hot in heatwave)but they offered to move our room. Room very hot and had one small fan but they did provide a 2nd fan. Only one tiny window that open a very small amount so needed to keep door open to ventilate the room. Room was very quiet. Very helpful staff. Would stay here again.
