Boutique Hotel 43 Amsterdam - Zaandam

Superb location in a quiet residential street opposite a historic chocolate factory. We were in easy walking distance of working windmills, pubs, restaurants and a station with regular sprinter trains to Amsterdam. On arrival, we parked directly outside the hotel and used a network of trails to explore both sides of the river. The room had a large, comfortable bed, a huge tv, a walk-in wet room and fast wi-fi. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a retreat from the buzz of Amsterdam.

ZALIG hotel! Super vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen. De geur van het cacaofabriek aan de overkant is GEWELDIG! Gratis parkeren in de straat en vlak bij treinstation. Top verblijf!

Top locatie, heel discreet gelegen. Gratis parkeren en plaats genoeg om je wagen kwijt te geraken in de straat. Zaandam is een gezellig plek om te vertoeven en. Openbaar vervoer op amper 200 meter van de deur. Openbaar vervoer heel vlot en super gemakkelijk om te gebruiken, enkel je pinpas of smartphone is voldoende en geen gedoe om een ticketje aan te schaffen. Ideale uitvalsbasis om met de trein naar Zaandam te gaan amper 5 min. Amsterdam bezoeken op amper 15min ben je in Amsterdam Centraal. En in het weekend is er toch nog iedere 30 min een trein. Hier kom ik waarschijnlijk nog terug. Grt Danny

Room was nice size. No microwave so could reheat left overs. I had 3 flights of stairs. Last flight was very very narrow

Wenn Sie in diesem Hotel übernachten möchten, achten Sie bei der Reservierung darauf, welches Zimmer Sie buchen. Stellen Sie dies sicher, wenn Sie nicht in einem Zimmer übernachten möchten, das von einem Laden in ein Zimmer mit Blick auf die Straße umgewandelt wurde. Das ist Zimmer Nummer 1. Das ist auf unserer Reise passiert. Da wir das Hotel vor dem Einchecken nicht betreten konnten, gingen wir zur angegebenen Adresse. Bevor wir abreisten, erklärten wir ausdrücklich, dass wir dieses Zimmer nicht haben wollten. Aber nach dem Einchecken sahen wir, dass dieses Zimmer vergeben war. Als wir das Zimmer betraten, sahen wir, dass das Zimmer nicht gereinigt war, überall Spinnweben waren und die Wände mit schmutzigen Fingerabdrücken bedeckt waren. Wir kehrten sofort zur Check-in-Rezeption zurück und beanstandeten dies. Aus irgendeinem Grund hieß es plötzlich, dass Zimmer Nr. 4 frei sei und wir dort nur eine Nacht bleiben könnten, aber am nächsten Tag mussten wir leider in Zimmer Nr. 1 umziehen, das von einem Laden in ein Zimmer umgewandelt worden war . Uns wurde auch versprochen, dieses Zimmer zu reinigen, da sie zugaben, dass es schmutzig sei. Weil wir die Bilder, die wir hatten, an der Rezeption gezeigt haben. Um keine weitere Zeit zu verschwenden und unsere Nerven zu strapazieren, nahmen wir dieses Angebot an und traten unsere Reise nach Amsterdam an, die wir uns so sehr gewünscht hatten. Als wir jedoch am nächsten Morgen in Zimmer 1 waren...natürlich war nicht sauber..

Was a nice room, bed to soft for me and the bathroom kinda flooded because the drain was blocked.

Het vinden voor het inchecken was lastig te vinden aangezien het adres op meerder plekken zit. De kamer zag er netjes uit. Het matras schoof helemaal naar beneden misschien een hoeslaken eromheen doen zodat deze op zijn plek blijft. Geen haakjes in de badkamer voor handdoeken dat was echt een gemis. Ook mogen de lampen en het plafond gestoft worden. Verder was de kamer prima

Op zich prima, maar schept misschien te hoge verwachtingen. Kamer is niet echt schoon (vlekken in de lakens, stofnesten aan achterzijde koelkastje, vegen op de schuifdeur naar de badkamer, vieze vloerbedekking op de trap etc) en heeft een matige afwerking (afbladderende verf, vochtvlekken op de muur). Er wordt ook niets gedaan met de veel gelezen feedback dat er behoefte is aan haakjes in de badkamer, want die ontbraken nog steeds, wat inderdaad erg onhandig is, zeker bij het ontbreken van een douchescherm. Daarnaast was onze zolderkamer bloedheet bij aankomst, en was de handleiding van de airco niet de juiste en onduidelijk, waardoor het lang duurde voor we deze goed aan de praat kregen. Tot slot is de lokatie ook niet de meest charmante (wel dicht bij het station, maar meer in woongebied, waardoor wij last hadden van een feestje bij de buren tot 03:00 uur). Personeel is er niet aanwezig, alleen in het hotel 10 minuten lopen verderop.

On our second of three nights, we were locked out of our room, along with other guests for hours, until the early hours of the morning. The after hours number was not in service. The wifi password was wrong, and being in a foreign country wifi access is critical, especially in emergency situations like this. Our passports were not accessible, and after searching for advice we were about to call the Police when someone finally showed up. It was very scary. I have yet to hear back from my many emails. The housekeeping service is not great. Our coffee was never replenished, dirty coffee cups were left in the room, and our linens were never changed, despite being outside in the rain, and making them damp. Operations seem unorganized, and I wanted to love this place. I am expecting a refund for at least one night. I left the Netherlands sick with a cold, ruining our last two vacation days.

We found the area to be easy for walking and both convenient for the train station as well as the lical attractions. The staff were there during business hours and bery attentive

Everything was very fine.

The hotel is perfect if you ever need to stay in the north of Amsterdam. However there are a few things to consider. Staff and reception is a couple blocks away, so in case of something needed, you must need to walk there (we need to it because our key card was deactivated) … Besides That bed and shower are great.

Zeer prettige mooie kamer, op wandelafstand van station en lokale winkels. Iets minder was de verwarming in de kamer. Deze werd geregeld met een airco-achtig systeem, maar deze raakte waarschijnlijk niet aan de gevraagde temperatuur en monitorde ook niet de warmte, met als resultaat dat het eind januari heel erg koud was in de kamer en moeilijk op te warmen.

Our second time staying here and we love it every time! Super close to the train station which links to Amsterdam Centraal with many amazing towns along the way. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Great hotel but room key stopped working each day. Reception was a 20 min walk from hotel and closed at 10.30. Very stressful if key didnt work, staff quite unhelpful. Manager called "John" was quite abrupt and unhelpful when i told him of key not working, said it happened all the time. Very unsafe if cant access your room after 10.30 on the streets of amsterdam. Very veru disappointing

The staffing and service was amazing, but the clarification of which building is which is very confusing. Please make sure to double check with staffing about which of the three buildings you can go to. Also make sure to get a email of your code or you might be a bit stranded. It was my first trip out of country though, so it can be my fault as well! But the staffing helped me out a ton, and the first night they let me stay in another hotel room in Zaandam, which was extremely polite of them!

We do not recommend staying here. They have an awful check in system. When we were arrived, we followed the instructions we were given, but no one was at the restaurant to receive us and give us our key to check in. After calling numbers and snooping around the property, we finally found somone who could give us a card to check in. The lady was so great and so helpful but we ended up having to walk between the hotel and the restaurant four times until we got a working key. After that, we witnessed five other guests arrive over the course of our stay and have exactly the Same problem. Communication is non existant, and there is no follow up support or apology for the bad experience. Read the Google reviews and you will see this hotel is sadly not a goood choice.

It is a little annoying that the reception is a 5-10 minutes walk away from the hotel, and only open during business hours (and that the staff there, which is actually a restaurant, don’t always seem to know what’s up as regards the hotel), but apart from that Boutique hotel 43 was AMAZING! The room, the house, the neighborhood, the ease of travel between there and the Amsterdam city center — it was all wonderful. Definitely bonus marks for the chocolate fragrance ..

This is s great option for a short stay. The area of Zaanse Schans is not too large for someone to explore for more than two days, and this place is perfect for that. It's close to the center of the town and is really close to the train station, so there's no need to walk long distances with suitcases and belongings.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our 16 day holiday. Great location only a couple blocks from train station to get you to everywhere quickly and affordably. Walking distance to historic windmill village. Only caution is that local restaurants close earlier than those in the big city.

Sehr nah an Zughaltestelle, somit ist es leicht in die Innenstadt zu kommen und zur Flixbushaltestelle
