Haven Inn

Room was quiet and quite clean. The light switches need a good cleaning and the walls need some minor repair and fresh paint. The floors were tiled and were clean. The bathroom had recently been redone with new tiles, toilet, and sink. Front staff were very friendly. Ample parking space between cars, so no chance of getting your car dinged. Flowers planted along sidewalk keeps things pleasant looking. I like their no smoking and no guest policy - keeps things clean and quiet. Will stay there again.

This property has a great location, and it is very pretty, with lots of plantings and flowers. Makes it very inviting. I wish I could be more positive about the room, since it looks so nice from the outside. The room was basic in every sense of the word, when it could be much nicer. The fridge was nice and cold, which helped the fact that the motel does not offer ice to guests. The bed was comfortable, and it was very quiet for being on a main road. Sadly the bathroom has no room to put anything, and badly needs updating. The main reception person was helpful but it’s like breaking into Fort Knox. Not very welcoming. I’m sure there’s reasons for it, but it was off-putting as a first impression.

Not fancy and no real amenities but entirely adequate as a place to sleep. Would recommend as a travel stopover.

Room was dated, but clean. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Easy parking right in front of our unit. TV was a bit difficult to operate. Could use more pillows of different densities.

Expect no amenities (other than free parking and cable tv that the desk clerk felt I needed to be instructed on how to access) and bath towels akin to what I imagine jail inmates get--rough and barely larger than hand towels (which none of those was provided). Bedspread was stained. There are a few places to eat that are within walking distance but it's an unappealing neighborhood. Neighbors sat outside talking and smoking. It served its purpose as an inexpensive place to sleep and shower.

Beautiful gardens

When we got there we were greeted by the staff they were very helpful. A few down falls are there is no vending machines or ice machine also the beds are not as comfortable but for the price not overly bad.

I enjoyed the staff and property. Its well mantained and has adorable outside planters and gardens full of roses. The room was clean and its clear its a budget motel.

Not the cleanest, a lot of hairs in the bathroom, tile shower needs a good scrubbing, dirty baseboards, walls, doors

Excellent clean room, friendly staff

The furniture was very broken. There was half done repairs in the room and inadequate materials used to do repairs. The door was very difficult to lock the state of disrepair in the room did not make me feel comfortable or that the place was actually clean. There was feces on the toilet bowl. The heat did not work in the room and I slept with my coat on.

Room was not in good condition. Walls were dirty, shower had mold and there was random flooring glued to the floor to cover up something.

The room was very dirty with black hair on the bed and towels.

Everything was clean

Staff was nice, the room wasn't very clean, and it smelled like cigarettes smoke in the entire building.

Although the staff seemed to try their best to keep things clean, the room still felt quite dirty and unpleasant to look at. There were hairs in the bed, the furniture was mismatched and very outdated, and the overall condition felt run-down. The lock on the door did not seem very secure, and the limited renos appeared cheap. The security deposit was higher than the actual room cost, which was surprising. The pillow had a very strong perfume smell, and the lady at the front desk wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here. We paid $80. So you get what you pay for.

Just an old motel, with old furniture and fixtures.

Upon checking they requested a $100 cash deposit, which was weird. The sheets looked clean, but there was staining on the comforter. Pillows were quite lumpy, but the bed itself was comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.

You get what you pay for. Here are a few points we have noticed 1. Bed was hard as a rock, pillows terrible (thick as 6 pieces of paper) 2. Water in bathroom trickles 3. No soap holder (they couldn’t spend the $4 at Dollarama for ones? 4. The chair they give you in the room was literally on its last legs. We were afraid to sit on it as we would be blamed for breaking it. 5. The TV required a wizard to use it where the up arrow didn’t work 6. The TV randomly turned on in the middle of the night (quite bright) 7. Laminate floor seen better days 8. They could have splurged for a bigger waste basket. We put 2 Gatorade bottles in it and it was full 9. The sink had no counter and was so small I couldn’t put my glasses on it to put my contacts in (and put a toothbrush and toothpaste on it)

Clean room and bed and convenient parking right in front of the unit. One needs to buzz an intercom to just gain access to the front desk even in the middle of the day or when checking out in the morning. The bathroom is cramped. The shower drain did not work properly, so water backed up over my feet even after a relatively short shower. No extras such as a box of Kleenex or a plate for the microwave provided. My stay was at the end of March when outside temperature was hovering around zero. The linoleum floor (no carpet) was very cold. As others have noted, this is "bare bones" accommodation.

Room I was given was old and in need of work. Smoke smell in room. I was told some rooms have been refurbished.

Clean. Large comfy bed. Terrible pillows. Small bathroom with no counter space. No USB plug ins for cell phones. Good fridge and microwave.

Quick stop for the night. Had a good nights rest. Room could use some fixing up. I didn’t like the blinds either. It was full blackout or no privacy pick one. For a motel it was fine.

Manager came bagging on our door at 4am because my partners brother stopped by on his way to work because they haven’t seen each other in a long time and brought us coffee. We were told no guests were allowed and when I explained to him he was just dropping off coffee and saying hi he waited outside of the room for him to leave. Super awkward and invasive.

Had an absolutely terrible experience with Haven Inn. The customer service from Alice was appalling. My wife and I booked here to stay for our anniversary as we had plans in Hamilton. As we were on our way, we received a call saying our card was "declined" so they gave our room to someone else and they had no more rooms available First of all, why is my card being charged when a) I selected pay upon arrival on Expedia, and b) we haven't yet arrived for our check-in and c) no chance my card was declined bud Second, we received no phone call to ask us if we still intended on coming. Lastly, we received nothing but rudeness from Alice when she called to tell us that our anniversary plans were ruined due to no fault of our own. If this staff is a representation of the way this business is conducted then this business should be closed permanently. All in all, we will NEVER be booking here again and we will be dissuading every single person we know to book here as well. Had we had a better experience with the attendant who called us we might not have left a review but the public needs to know not to waste their money nor support a business with such terrible employees.

We needed staff assistance with our door lock and television remote control. Their response was immediate and they were most helpful and pleasant to deal with. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Haven Inn. Obviously our first experience was pleasant enough for us to book again.

Staff were very nice and helpful

Make sure the hotel refunds your credit card deposit. Hotel kept my deposit until I called the hotel 1 week after I left. Once on the phone, the hotel lady asked for my credit card 3 digit code claiming she needed it in order to "cancel the transaction." Which is not true! Not proper.

Very helpful staff and excellent value for money.

I did not check in or stay here and was still charged regardless of the fact that the Haven Inn cancelled three other reservations on the morning of our stay. No communication and poor management response. I do not recommend this place.

I had a room booked. When I arrived, my pet wasn't allowed to stay. When we made arrangements for my pet, I was told the room was taken and I could not stay. I have left a voicemail to get reimbursed the cost of the room, but have yet to hear back.

The front counter person gave me the house rules including no guests ,couldn’t watch the Blue Jay game or much anything else , cable tv said “One moment please” which means the signal isn’t strong enough for the box to pull in a signal. I explained it to the front counter the next morning, but they fluffed it off. Check your tv when you get to your room. (Incidentally, I went down to the office that same evening also and told the front desk , their response was “Take it up with management in the morning “ she said with her back to me. Not good customer service.you get what you pay for.

It was good. The lady on the night shift handled everything and helped me when I needed the heat fixed. The stay was pleasant. An economic, clean, safe motel. It was quiet and close to McMaster, which was the whole point.

It was affordable but it was not exactly quality room. My room could use some upkeep with some of the trim that was taken off where there was a water leak in the bathroom and the bathroom in general could use a makeover. But still the bed was comfortable and the blankets were clean and I did not feel like this was a divey place. I didn't spend much so I didn't expect much but I will say that the people who check me in were very nice and I felt comfortable and at ease right away. For the money as long as you have realistic expectations this is good bang for your buck.

This motel is in a lovely part of Hamilton. It has a beautiful garden and is across the street from a beautiful cemetary with very nice walking trails. The rooms are clean but basic, with comfortable beds. Good location for driving to Ancaster, Tiffany Falls and other points of interest.

Close to public transport and restaurants

The location for what we did was ideal!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Haven Inn. The staff was helpful and it was convenient for visiting Dundas and Hamilton. Will stay here again on future visits.

Nice experience in a budget. In an area close to restaurants and shops. Pretty quiet. Very nice staff. Decent basic accommodations. Fridge and microwave in room.

Conveniently located near the awesome Burrito joint 'Burrito Brothers'.

Did not like the location, far from the city, staff not so friendly. I thought there breakfast, but there was no breakfast.

A coffee machine in the room would be nice. All other motels have one.
