High Point Arcadia Inn

It is a cheap, poorly maintained motel for extended stay. The photos and info provided online are highly inaccurate. The pool apparently has not been filled or used for years. The staff are friendly and do their best, but the property is poorly maintained to dangerous levels. We could only access our room via uneven and badly repaired stairs, which would never pass safety inspection. The room was lit by a single bulb and had no fixtures aside from a side table, mini fridge and tv. Some of this would be excusable but the misrepresentation on Expedia is completely inexcusable.

From my experience before arriving to setting foot on the property was awful and utterly regrettable. Hotels.com sent no confirmation booking, I had to call to confirm with the hotel and was met by rude staff on the phone. I took that in stride and by the date of booking arrived to find the site utterly lacking. I choose this place to be chose to my business destination and refused to stay beyond one night. Room itself was incredibly charmless. Mismatching bedspread to pillows was concerning as far as cleanliness, but nothing compared to the bathroom. Sink and counter area was covered in someone's hair. Shower curtain covered in strange black dotted substance at the bottom. Shower floor was rough and rusted. Shower itself as broken and dripped all night and day. As this is an exterior room with a window, the curtains provided little privacy. I felt unsafe leaving belongings behind in a locked room in which someone merely had to peak through the gaps to see inside. Which people did. As a woman traveling alone, hearing some man outside my window spying on me was the last straw. Not that any support could be provided by staff as the service desk is not 24hr. Bringing my complaints to hotels.com provided little to no support as staff and property management were unreachable. Overall, awful experience. I booked myself into a significantly better room in another town and never looked back. This was the most uncomfortable and unsettling stay I ever endured.

This Inn has 2 stories: 1) The Eye Opener - The property is in really poor condition, it is excessively worn. Exterior is poor, exterior stairs with missing stone treads, basic wood used instead, no elevator to 2nd floor. State of rooms: Let's put it this way, I really didn't want to look too hard. Black bed sheets which was concerning, one light for the entire bedroom.....just really run down property, at least they appear to use bed bug protection on the beds. Bathroom was grimy, hair dryer exists but does not work.....Ugghhh could not wait to leave. 2) The better aspect - Their employees. I arrived late at night, they asked me to go to the room and inspect before taking the room (flashing warning signs in my head), it was furniture market and there were not a lot of options. I was concerned with the area, but the kind lady at check in reassured me it was safe, she and the housekeeper were exceptionally warm and kind. The hotel delivered fresh towels to the room each day. No housekeeping for daily cleaning. I can accept the state of the property but if they offered good quality white bed linens and cleaned the rooms daily it might have been more bearable. Despite the warm, kind and welcoming hotel staff, I would never stay at this property or in this area.

I’m just staying here because I’m homeless. It’s great if you’re in my situation. It might be better when it gets warmer for the pool to open.

I feel like if you are not a troublemaker or whiner expecting a 5 star hotel or service then you'd have no problems here. For the cost you really should not complain. It's way better than the Econo Lodge in Greensboro. Of course this isn't the Carlton Ritz. It's a affordable hotel and extended stay so you will see some unpleasant people like addicts trying to bum change and cigarettes. And your stay really depends on where you are roomed. The back is very... Lively and that's putting it nicely. A lot of suspicious activity and people, arguing and screaming throughout the day and night. If you want a better experience pay for the 350 weekly if you can. It's worth every penny. And hardly anyone ever really occupies those because of the cost so they are almost always available and it's way more quieter besides your occasional siren of a emergency vehicle or people talking amongst themselves but it's never disruptive. I still give five stars because it is a good decent hotel, close to a bus stop and I like that it's close to a lot of places. Mostly you'll see the same residents. Stay to yourself, don't be a complainer and you'll fair out fine. The lady with he gray eyes is very kind and informative. She's awesome.

someone tried to break into our pick up truck.. there are pry marks and a puncture in the door lining where someone put a wire coat hanger threw. top corner on the door was bent backwards with a flat object such as a screw driver or crow bar

The room had bugs in the window seal and crawling around on the floor they were roaches did not stay

Poor room maintenance.poor lighting .Bedside light didn't work. Toilet seat didn't fit toilet. Cockroach/palmetto bug. Substandard paint job.

The room stunk of cigarette smoke even though it is a non smoking room. there is one small light bulb in the closet area to light the entire room. The bathroom exhaust fan sounds like a diesel train, and once it began moving air, just made the cigarette smell worse in the room. Horrible place to stay

My stay was great! For the price I thought it wouldnt be nice but it was very clean and bed was very comfortable!

Actually loved the people they were so nice. But the room itself was just kind of disgusting but they have clean beds I checked for bugs and everything.

The management treated us poorly and she must had mistaken me for someone else because after she seen my ID to check us in she stated I wasent allowed to stay at the motel because of somthing that happen previously with some guy? I didn’t know what she was talking about and told her she’s got the wrong person well she insisted she didn’t and said she would give us another chance to stay at their motel and said she was gonna have security watch us all night me my husband and our 3 month old. I will never go back here this is not a friendly place for a family. We were treated horribly they made us wait 2 hours before checking in with a crying baby outside they put us through hell and Expedia and would not even give me a refund like I wanted after waiting 2 hours for them to fix whatever was going on. Expedia was no help to our issues and if I could have canceled and went to another hotel I would have! This place has bugs and it’s dirty I had to clean everything down with bleach and Clorox wipes because it was that unkept. This place is not recommended for anyone. I wouldn’t even give you one star.

I have never had a bad experience here. Workers are efficient and kind. If there’s a problem they fix it. Rules are written in black and white in front of the service desk. It’s not hard to follow them.

It was a good stay. The staff were very friendly and professional. The area was nice and quiet. Will stay again.
