The rooms were clean but small. The stairway to the floors were winding and narrow. However, the staff did carry the luggage up and down for us. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

In the center of everything, close to a train station, red light district, canals. Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Check in was somewhat confusing, directions on how to get in will be send to you a few hours before checking in, so do not panic. We left our luggage at the restaurant next door, I think it is the same owners and thats a procedure anyways. Do not stay on a third floor if you are not an athletic person, stairs are very very and I mean very steep, you basically climb sidewise. Will recommend and stay there again but preferably on lower levels.

Very lively area with lots of cafes and restaurants, shops and supermarket close by. Well located. Stairs are challenging for older guests but it’s an old building so to be expected. Staff very helpful with check in and carried bags upstairs which was much appreciated after a very long flight.

Wonderfull boutique hotel situated closely to the Central Station ~15min walk Nice room and quiet. 2 small points of attention: 1: warm water when showering is not really warm 2: luggage to be carried up and down narrow stairs (but the staff will kindly help you) In short: great stay for a visit to Amsterdam

Super nice small hotel, quaint is the word that comes to mind. I might have missed the info, but it is important to note that to access your room one needs to scale some rather steep stair, in particular if you are on the top floow

Nice hotel in Jordaan. We were early and wanted to leave our bags as they were running behind and weren’t at there yet, they offered a coffee on them at their partners nearby coffee shop (coupons also available for hotel guests in the rooms, which was a great touch for breakfast) Check in was smooth. Rooms are small as stated but that’s normal for Europe it seems. As the hotel is above a restaurant there is noise coming from below til late in the night (we were there on a holiday and then a Friday) they do provide ear plugs which did help. Steep stairs to get to rooms, again this is fairly normal for Amsterdam. We also disliked was our shower had no door and the carpet in the room looks a little worse for wear. Overall, not a bad place to stay. Thanks again!

Dejligt hotel med nem indtjekning ( digital key på telefonen), så vi så ikke meget til Noget hotelpersonale. Meget rene og super pæne værelser. Der er meget lydt på værelserne, men hotellet giver Ear plugs ud. Dejligt med kupponer til en lokal kaffe bar

Staff were friendly upon check in, brought our luggage up to the room while we explored before check in. Complimentary vouchers for the coffee shop next door was a nice touch but we only recieved 2 days worth for our 3 night stay after being told we would receive one each day. Stairs are steep so it could be a barrier foe those with mobility issues. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Our room was on the second floor, up some pretty scary steps lol. It was small and perfectly formed. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the heat worked nicely (it did get chilly in the night so we turned it on and warmed up quickly). It was obviously an older building but they had modernised it quite nicely, so all the modern amenities with rustic charm. It is also very conveniently located - 15 min walk from the station, 5 minute walk to Noordmarkt and another 10 mins or so to Jordaan. The restaurant was packed, but hoping next time we can eat there too. Definitely will stay here the next time we come to Amsterdam :))

The location is good, the hotel is also nice, I can't say it's ugly or old, but we stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. The welcome was nice, but apart from that, neither our water was replaced nor the room was cleaned, we didn't report this because we left the room early every day, everything was the same as the day we arrived, the lack of room service was disappointing.

What a great place to stay while in Amsterdam! CiCi held my bags in the restaurant while I viewed the city....I then came back to a clean, quiet, cool room. (Other than the steep stairs - which is par for any Dutch city! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel gut gelegen! Aber beim Einchecken hab ich bemerkt das das Zimmer nicht sehr sauber ist , (habe Haare gefunden) ,und die Nachttisch Lampen funktionierten nicht! Das Essen von dem Kellner der sehr unfreundlich und rechthaberisch war, war richtig schlecht ! Aber Gott sei Dank wurde die Unannehmlichkeiten geklärt.vielen Dank und das Frühstück am Morgen sehr fein und der Kaffe einer der besten in Amsterdam 🙌

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and a great local vibe. We really enjoyed the on-site restaurant; the food was excellent and the service top-notch. That said, there were a couple of things that could be improved. Upon check-in, we found a clothing label on the bathroom floor, which made us question the thoroughness of the room cleaning. Also, Saturday night was quite noisy, with loud music and vibrations from the sound carrying into the room—something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, despite those minor issues, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the great staff and atmosphere.

Absolutely stunning room and very comfortable bed. Great location, a 10 min walk from the central station. The hotel allowed us to leave our bags at the begining and end of our stay so we could explore. It was a very hot night but an easy to operate air cooler was provided. Some noise from the street but that is to be expected given the amazing location. Would happily stay again! Gutted our stay was only 1 night. To top it off, we had vouchers for coffee and pastry from Good Beans across the street and it was lovely, great way to start the day. The cheese and mustard was delicious!

Overall, a good experience. Checking in/out was quick and easy. Room was a good size for no more than two people. Bathroom was very small and not very private. No shower door or curtain to keep the water in. Stayed warm in the fall/winter month. Great location, close to train station and trams.

Good property and easy communication but no one there on site. - bathroom very small and bedroom very loud with lots of noise coming from the street late in the night and early in the morning. No fan or A/C on a particularly hot few days made it quite sweaty in the room.

Great location, 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station. Used the email confirmation to open the main and room door using my phone which was a great idea. WiFi fine and room nice enough. The area is a very bike busy zone so please be careful when trying to cross the road as they will not stop even if you are on a crossing zone! The coffee shop for breakfast is directly opposite the side street and the chocolate croissants were lovely. Amsterdam central is within a 10-15 minute walk which was great and the Albert Heijn supermarket at the end of the road was great for any essentials! Was a little issue with a power socket which was loose but I informed the hotel as we checked out and they have assured me it would be fixed. We were in room 8 and the street noise wasn’t and issue as we were towards the back. Shower was great powerful and modern. No TV or fridge which was a shame but I suppose it’s just a base to get you around the city. We stayed for 3 nights before catching a plane to Aruba so was perfect for a short city break. Amsterdam is a lovely city and the people were very friendly and the motto is always ‘no problems!’ Love the city, the vibe and the location. You will love it!

The room was very small. and we could hear the music from the restaurant well into the AM. The staff was very nice however. Nothing to do with the Hotel but BEWARE of Expedia’s room upgrades they are a scam, you actually end up with a worse room and pay more.

Super friendly staff. I left something behind and they mailed it to me in the UK. I was in rom 10 that is very quiet just how I like it but the very steep staircase might be a challenge for some.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and a great local vibe. We really enjoyed the on-site restaurant; the food was excellent and the service top-notch. Pleasant hotel, in a street of independent shops. Nice room overlooking the street. Quieter than I was expecting but then we stayed on a wednesday. Easy walking distance to the city centre. The only thing to note is there is no reception. You are directed to the restaurant downstairs for any support. The staff in the restaurant downstairs were very helpful at check in, but later in the evening the restaurant did look to get busy.

The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and the heat worked nicely (it did get chilly in the night so we turned it on and warmed up quickly). It was obviously an older building but they had modernised it quite nicely, so all the modern amenities with rustic charm. It is also very conveniently located - 15 min walk from the station, 5 minute walk to Noordmarkt and another 10 mins or so to Jordaan. The restaurant was packed, but hoping next time we can eat there too. Definitely will stay here the next time we come to Amsterdam :))

The hotel is located in the middle of Haarlemm neighborhood. Very popular, lots of activity around and in the middle of everything. Very nice location, walking distance from major attractions, lots of cafes, restaurants and stores. The hotel has a restaurant on the first floor that opens for dinner, so at night it is very busy. The room was confortable and clean, good bed with private bathroom and shower. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. We arrived early in the morning and they happily stored our bags for us until check-in time, even carried them up to our room. Would defenitely recommend and stay there again on future visits.

Great location, 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station. Used the email confirmation to open the main and room door using my phone which was a great idea. WiFi fine and room nice enough. The area is a very bike busy zone so please be careful when trying to cross the road as they will not stop even if you are on a crossing zone! The coffee shop for breakfast is directly opposite the side street and the chocolate croissants were lovely. Amsterdam central is within a 10-15 minute walk which was great and the Albert Heijn supermarket at the end of the road was great for any essentials! Was a little issue with a power socket which was loose but I informed the hotel as we checked out and they have assured me it would be fixed. We were in room 8 and the street noise wasn’t and issue as we were towards the back. Shower was great powerful and modern. No TV or fridge which was a shame but I suppose it’s just a base to get you around the city. We stayed for 3 nights before catching a plane to Aruba so was perfect for a short city break. Amsterdam is a lovely city and the people were very friendly and the motto is always ‘no problems!’ Love the city, the vibe and the location. You will love it!

I loved Hotel Calisto! My room was at the very top of the house, up a steep staircase (so if you find it hard to walk it’s not for you) with a view over one of the coolest roads in Amsterdam - Haarlemmerdijk. There are loads of cool vintage shops and the restaurant downstairs was delicious. My room was clean and cosy, and the price was so reasonable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Excellent position above a top notch restaurant and interesting surrounds. Comfortable bed, slept with window open as there was no remote for the air conditioner, so it was a bit noisy at night (ear plugs were provided). Breakfast was vouchers for nearby cafe, but unfortunately this opened too late to be useful .

Absolutely stunning room and very comfortable bed. Great location, a 10 min walk from the central station. The hotel allowed us to leave our bags at the begining and end of our stay so we could explore. It was a very hot night but an easy to operate air cooler was provided. Some noise from the street but that is to be expected given the amazing location. Would happily stay again! Gutted our stay was only 1 night. To top it off, we had vouchers for coffee and pastry from Good Beans across the street and it was lovely, great way to start the day. The cheese and mustard was delicious!

Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel gut gelegen! Aber beim Einchecken hab ich bemerkt das das Zimmer nicht sehr sauber ist , (habe Haare gefunden) ,und die Nachttisch Lampen funktionierten nicht! Das Essen von dem Kellner der sehr unfreundlich und rechthaberisch war, war richtig schlecht ! Aber Gott sei Dank wurde die Unannehmlichkeiten geklärt.vielen Dank und das Frühstück am Morgen sehr fein und der Kaffe einer der besten in Amsterdam 🙌

Everything about this property was beautiful. We had a lovely attic room and lovely helped carry our luggage up the steep stairs for us. the restaurant down below the hotel had fantastic food and the service in both areas was amazing. They also supplied a coupon for coffee and a pastry across the street each day that we stayed in a funky little coffee shop, as well as providing bikes that we rode every day. I would recommend this little boutique property to anybody

This is definitely a small boutique hotel, but it has everything you might need. The room was small but clean, and the bed was comfy. The area the hotel is in feels very safe, and is pretty close to public transportation. The staff was friendly and responsive. The restaurant downstairs is delicious! Fancy wine-bar vibes, but the food is great.

We did a cycling trip starting and ending in Amsterdam and stayed at the Hotel Calisto at the start and finish. They were outstanding! Not only did they accommodate our bikes but they stored our bike boxes for us until our return at no additional charge. I could go on at length about the high quality service they provided overall but they excelled in every area and the room was large and very clean. In addition the hotel is in the core area and easily walkable to all things downtown. There were numerous restaurant and cafe options and their own restaurant below the rooms was absolutely awesome with the same high level of service the hotel offered. I highly recommend the Hotel Calisto and their restaurant. Note the restaurant is busy and reservations are recommended.

We checked into the Calisto Hotel at the restaurant below as instructed. The gentleman who served us was most helpful and polite. He carried our bags up the stairs and answered any questions. Our room was spacious with a king bed and large bright windows. We enjoyed 3 nights in Amsterdam finding the location to be excellent. We walked absolutely everywhere. There are lots of restaurants and shoppes conveniently located. The only drawbacks were the firmness of the bed and pillows. We found them to be much harder than we like. The shower, had a wonderful rainfall head, lots and pressure and hot water....however, it did not drain well, so ran over the edge of the shower onto the floor in rivers. We ate at the restaurant below the hotel twice in three days .... it was that good and they offer a discount to their hotel guests...a lovely gesture!
