Hotel Villas Flamingos

The location and the area is amazing. Staff at the bar & restaurant are great. But , cleaning services are not sufficient at the level of the price the hotel is charging. The polls are beautiful but the water are super dirty. In the room (which is beautiful) we have many bugs that bites us within the bed sheets - that weren't replaced during our stay (4 nights!)

Amazing hotel! The lobby is unique with bamboo structured architecture creating a two story entrance with a beautiful white sand floor. The property has one of the best restaurants on the island with views out to the ocean and sand bar. The service was spot on. The location is perfect, far away from the noisy down town and right on the best portion of the sand bar that you can easily wade to and walk to mosquito point.

we had the Bamboo Master Suite. The room is fantastic, highlight is the rainforest shower that also has a great orange led light setting. The roof top is nicely done with a 2x1 meter pool that can be heated at night. Flaw is that there´s no sunshade so at noon you literally get fried there. Can´t be that hard to install a shade in my opinion. Also the heater in the whirlpool wasn´t working. I told the service at the reception twice, they had mechanics working on it and told us it´s fixed but it wasn´t. We just gave up after telling them the 2nd time it´s not working since the water is still kind of warm but still, for the price they´re asking ( $550USD per night) you expect things to work. Breakfast was fantastic, the dinner is quite fancy and didn´t match our taste, but taste is a personal thing and others will probably like the food a lot.

Facility was great. Long ways from center of town which was both a plus and a minus. Sand bar is right in front of hotel and the sunset views are unparalleled. Staff was very attentive, and rooms were well equipped and cleaned.

What a beautiful location close to a Punta Mosquito.

El lugar es un paraíso, y sin duda tienen la mejor ubicación si de ir a relajarse se trata. Lindo ver que enfrente de la playa hay un domo de arena por el cual puedes caminar tanto hacia la zona hotelera como a una reserva para avistamiento de aves. Que no gustó: 1. Playa privada llena de sargazo, no se puede usar. (El equipo estaba limpiando constantemente, la realidad es que si es una actividad qué hay que hacer diario, honestamente no es algo que deban ofrecer como algo bueno del hotel, deberían poner letras chiquitas “la playa no se puede usar”. 2. Hay 3 albercas, las 3 están heladas. Incluso parece que una es un jacuzzi. Cómo veníamos de un temporal (justo el día anterior a nuestra llegada había terminado) nos comentaron que tomaba un rato en calentar, JAMÁS sucedió. El clima estaba “fríon” era importante ofrecer agua tibia para deleite de los huéspedes, estaban abandonadas las albercas. 3. La carta de alimentos en el restaurante, muy básica, si bien el desayuno era “rico” y “variado” (si eres gringo y/o europeo), la neta con la variedad de alimentos que ofrece la región e incluso, con las cartas de los vecinos como “las hamacas”, o el restaurante Luuma, se quedan por por debajo. Todas las noches buscamos salir a otro lado a comer. No todas las opciones buenas, pero si mucho más variadas, tanto en el pueblo como en otros hoteles. 4. PRECIOS ALTÍSIMOS para cualquier mexicano, incluso si es muy rico, no entenderías por qué te cobran 300 pesos por una tostada.

We were sadly disappointed with our stay at Villas Flamingos in Holbox, MX. While the property is beautiful and offers great access to the most desirable sandbar on the island, there is not enough staff to support guests and so the experience leaves you with great disappointment. Rooms We stayed in one of the Vista Mar rooms and while the website says the occupancy was a max of 2 people, we found it strange that our room included not only a king bed but also bunk beds. The bunk beds took up quite a bit of space in the room and made it awkward to access the closet space. It was also obvious that these beds did not belong in the room as there were 2 lights hanging from the ceiling that were laying on the top bunk. The room was on the first floor and did offer a nice view of the ocean and easy accessibility. Property Maintenance While in the middle of taking a shower one evening, unfortunately the water supply was shut off. We called to have someone look into the issue and they said they would call back. While no one ever contacted us again, the water did return roughly 45 minutes later. Staff As with many places on the island, the hotel suffers from being understaffed. As a result, the experience for guests is lacking. Often times there were not enough beach towels for guests, the beach front bar/restaurant was not always open and when it was it was extremely slow. One day we sat down for lunch and it took over an hour to be served - likely due to our waiter forgetting to

It was a great stay despite a bad start. Thanks to Carla for helping us change our room and upgrading us after some disrespectful guests used loud music at night. Note: it is formally forbidden. All guests signed the resort rules at check in. I would not mind up to 10pm or 11pm. But not after midnight. Rooms are great, while for our 1st room a shelf under the sink of the very tiny bathroom would have been of help. I had to put my stuff in the toilet. The balcony with the view on the sea is fantastic. The food was delicious for both breakfast and dinner. Great waiters, thanks to Jesus and Alan. There is no sand beach at that resort being at the end of the strand, I would say the minus point, but 3 pools, with a stunning view on the sea. The advantage is it is quiet. It is in front of the sand bank, convenient to reach and walk up to Punto mosquito. Unfortunately, algae had invaded the beach, giving off a nauseating odor. All in all a relaxing stay, what we were looking for.

We really enjoyed our first time to villa flamingos. it is the furthest hotel from the port. taxi rides into town on ATV is about 200 pesos or $12 one way. The front desk is very accommodating. Ride the bicycles that are provided for free instead of paying for taxi. We were in room 18 with very nice accommodation ask for rooms in the higher numbers like 43 if you want a Sunset view. Breakfast was incredible every day. the beach bar keeps strange hours and isn’t always open when you want a drink so you can order from restaurant. Housekeeping was unbelievable and they did it very early so your room was nice and fresh all day. Would definitely go back.

Nous avons passé deux nuit à l’hôtel Villa Flamingos, tout été parfait ! La chambre avec une vue magnifique, le personnel est très gentil et même un membre du personnel parle français et ça c’est top quand on ne parle pas très bien l’espagnol ! Propreté au top, et le petit déjeuner…. Une perfection ! Si nous avons la chance de revenir à Holbox, nous reviendrons dans cet hôtel sans hésiter !!

Gorgeous hotel, lovely staff, beautiful views. The lunch is particularly delicious and only about ten mins into the town on a bike or golf cart. Fantastic level of rooms and cleanliness. All in all couldn’t recommend enough

Everything was fresh, tasty and memorable. Made to order breakfast everyday - outside dining options as well as inside. The staff was absolutely wonderful, they were attentive, thoughtful and friendly. The amenities were great - We loved our two bed bungalow with in room sauna. Enjoyed both the indoor and out door showers, beds were comfortable, fresh bottled water every day, lovely porch with optional hammock and we had a gorgeous view of the ocean no matter were we sat. We had phenomenal massages on the beach. It was relaxing and stress reducing. The hotel was walking distance into town ( 20 -30 min leisurely walk or 10 min taxis ride). There’s a mini convience store and many other restaurants, bars and/or massage places to try out along the way. Wonderful hotel - we will be back again. Shout out to Ron and the front desk staff, who took care of us and made sure that we had what we needed including taxis’ and lunches for our early departure. Also have to mention Samantha, Jesus, Fernanda, Gabino and everyone else who made this trip so memorable! See you again soon!

This hotel is15 min from the ferry station. It’s located in front of the beautiful ocean and sandbar which is the main attraction of the island. However, it’s also surrounded by mud paddles and a stinky sewage bank full of insects. Employees are kind but the hotel has very limited resources. Bring your own drinking water before getting here. Food served at the only restaurant this property has isn’t good and still very expensive. Breakfast was included for us due to the high price we paid for the staying, but nothing we had was enjoyable or tasty. We couldn’t unpack due to how small the closet in the room is. There are not ceiling’s fans installed and the small A/C unit takes hours to cool the room. I wouldn’t return to this place.

Looks wonderful In the photos but in reality The luminescent room was exorbitantly priced and had no view. Monstrously and hugely overpriced for what seemed like a trolls garage at the back of one’s house. Shocking

La chambre (suite Honey moon) était très belle avec une très grande terrasse et la vue sur la mer magnifique. La plage était une image de carte postale avec suffisamment de chaises longues pour tout le monde. Les petits bémols, l’hôtel est loin du centre et le taxi coûte 7,5€, c’est un prix fixe même si le prix indiqué est 3 fois moins ! Le petit déjeuner est excellent mais le service pourrait être plus agréable, on a parfois l’impression de les embêter lorsqu’on passe une commande … Au moment du Check in, il y a une taxe à payer de 5€ par jour et par personne en supplément (taxe environnement) et on vous demande de laisser un pourboire

Such a lovely and memorable experience. Beautiful ocean views. Special thanks to all the staff being friendly and welcoming. We were very impressed with everything. The food was delicious! Stunning beach and a very lovely boutique hotel. Great food. Walkable and quiet. Romantic, local feel. Service wasn't overly friendly at front desk..(not a welcoming feel).

it’s a beautiful location don’t get me wrong but overall tired - whilst the staff try, my entire experience is ruined by the excessive demand and pressure to tip …I was chased out of the breakfast restaurant on my first day because I hadn’t signed ? Why do I need to sign when breakfast is included? oh because you haven’t left a tip ? all over the world I have never tipped daily for breakfast service. I will give something to F&B be at the end of my stay but I’m not paying a tip every day. Then at checkout and amount is suggested to me to tip for Gardening and maintenance !? Sorry I’m paying near on £400 a night for what is essentially basic accommodation with a bohemian aesthetic - that should cover the person raking up the leaves ?! I am a really generous person and I always tip housekeeping at the end of my day but I detest been dictated to what I shouldn’t shouldn’t have and to whom? avoid if you want to chill without feeling cheap

The staff was excellent! Especially Ivan, who helped with transportation, and Nacho and Jesus who were with the restaurant at the hotel. It was beautiful and the rooms were quite nice. We’ll be back!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is quiet and one of the best locations for hotel on the beach. Ivan at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had all of our connections set up for trip home.

Hotel was very nice for holbox. Location is not great. Beach was full of both garbage and seaweed. In the hotels defense there was a storm surge that flooded the beach and lagoon in front of the hotel with sea weed and garbage. Staff worked hard to do what they could.

Most beautiful location on the island

This is the best hotel we have stayed at in Mexico, and the best beach! We have been to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cancún, but nothing compares to this hotels luxury and beautiful beach.

Todo estuvo excelente. Nos gustaron las instalaciones, la ubicación y la amabilidad del personal. Algo que nos encantó es la comida, riquísima y los desayunos wow. Nos la pasamos increíble, cómodos y definitivamente volveríamos.

La carta de alimentos en el restaurante, muy básica, si bien el desayuno era “rico” y “variado” (si eres gringo y/o europeo), la neta con la variedad de alimentos que ofrece la región e incluso, con las cartas de los vecinos como “las hamacas”, o el restaurante Luuma, se quedan por por debajo. We were sadly disappointed with our stay at Villas Flamingos in Holbox, MX. While the property is beautiful and offers great access to the most desirable sandbar on the island, there is not enough staff to support guests and so the experience leaves you with great disappointment. Rooms We stayed in one of the Vista Mar rooms and while the website says the occupancy was a max of 2 people, we found it strange that our room included not only a king bed but also bunk beds. The bunk beds took up quite a bit of space in the room and made it awkward to access the closet space. It was also obvious that these beds did not belong in the room as there were 2 lights hanging from the ceiling that were laying on the top bunk. The room was on the first floor and did offer a nice view of the ocean and easy accessibility. Property Maintenance While in the middle of taking a shower one evening, unfortunately the water supply was shut off. We called to have someone look into the issue and they said they would call back. While no one ever contacted us again, the water did return roughly 45 minutes later. Staff As with many places on the island, the hotel suffers from being understaffed. As a result, the experience for guests is lacking. Often times there were not enough beach towels for guests, the beach front bar/restaurant was not always open and when it was it was extremely slow.
