My stay was lovely, I came for a relaxing break and it delivered. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ambiance was perfect. Only comments would be that there are afew aspects looking abit tired - mainly the pool area. The pool was dirty on the bottom and the loungers and cabanas need replacing

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and with plenty of spots. Room was lovely and quiet with a great marina view. Only downside (for a while) is that the neighbouring Marina Mirage is being demolished - so not many eating spots left unfortunately.

Property was beautiful and the staff accomodating. Pool was amazing and well maintained, great for kids. Only disappointment was the poolside bar closed at 5pm, didn’t seem right to not be able to drink poolside after 5pm.

Exceptional hotel. We stayed in a Lagoon Room and it was very nice. Beautiful facilities, super comfortable bedding, and very clean. Buffett breakfast was truly a highlight and wonderful to have included along with free parking. A lovely location to stay, next time we will stay longer. Thank you, staff are very attentive and friendly.

Beautiful hotel, great service and gorgeous atmosphere. Pool area needs some maintenance as there are cracked and missing tiles and spots that could use a good gerni.

While the lobby and the rooms were kept in good shape - the pool area was in a bit of disrepair. It was very quiet and the pool area bar was not open or serving - but orders could be made to you seat via QR code. Staff were great but the location is a little bit away from the main areas. Still a manageable 1.5-2KM walk - but that is a bit after dinner.

Customer service was really good and the general cleanliness was good. Breakfast buffet had a great range and was well done, but some plates had very small food stuck to it and I understand it was hard for the kitchen hand to see them. Some child high chairs were put together incorrectly so the straps didn't fit my baby. The general condition of the building, including pool, is old and needs to be renovated. The pool in particular had a lot of broken tiles in and around it. Most of the pool lounger cushions were mostly torn. During peak times at the pool, there weren't enough pool loungers or towels for everyone. We stayed in two superior king rooms and the furniture wasn't consistant with the photos online. Both were missing a sofa and the one room was also missing the arm chair. The rooms were next to each other and were the same size. The location of the lifts could have been imrpoved. Our rooms were facing the Marina Mirage shopping centre, which meant they were at the end of the building and far away from the lifts. The basement carpark had enough spots, but it was stuffy and sometimes had visible garbage bags or other things that should have been hidden.

Upon arrival we walked to reception from the underground carpark, through the corridors someone had smeared their blood on the wall. Walking to our room the carpets looked like they had not been vacuumed for 6+ months, there were covered with clumps or wool, sand, stains, rubbish and debris. In our room there was a used dirty band aid on the floor next to the bed, the fridge was warm and not working probably. We mentioned the bandaid and fridge to reception, the young male staff member whose name started with an A was apologetic, but to be honest he didn’t seem surprised. Engineering was sent to our room to fix the fridge thankfully. The pool had a very limited food and beverage menu yet still charges "Versace" prices. The only thing that saved our stay was the buffet breakfast, the food was delicious however we found it rude after paying 5* rates for the 1 nights accommodation, to be charged extra if we wanted an omelette, salmon or a second barista coffee. The hotel is sooooo far from 5*luxury it’s not even funny! The prices they charge for the extremally run-down amenities, poor upkeep and deteriorating presentation of the property is appalling! I travelled internationally for over 14 years with my job and honestly, I have never seen such horrendous conditions, even in 3* accommodation. The general vibe and reception we received from staff is that no one cares! It’s like the staff and management know the hotel will either be sold again or knocked down so why bother or try.

This hotel is not a five star. It has seen better days and is dirty and dated. The carpets are stained and smell damp and mouldy. The Breakfast was good but waiting over 20mins in line for a table when there were so many tables vacant as the worst service ever. Will not be returning back here.

When we checked in we had to wait 10 minutes to be served at the reception. The room had broken biscuits on the floor from the previous people staying there. The shower has lots of hair and the floor overall was very dusty and not clean

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Imperial Hotel. Staff are wonderful along with the food and entertainment. The room was spacious, relaxing, immaculate and was meticulously clean. I’d recommend the Imperial Hotel to anyone and I will be returning.

Our room had a very bad water damaged cabinet which is central in the room which was a bit ordinary and detracted a lot from what should be a high end quality hotel, seeing this old water damage and the age of the some of the furniture in room made us feel somewhat disappointed. There was nothing is the room from snacks to drinks etc and on arrival they take a $300 deposit I’m not sure what for? Staying at the QT would be a much more enjoyable stay. The actual hotel, lobby, reception and pool area is absolutely beautiful on arrival 2 beautiful Rolls Royces parked out side and all your thoughts are wow until we got to the room. The photos online are definitely much nicer and seeing the property I’m sure they have some great rooms maybe because we booked through Expedia and got a discounted rate we got a room that matched the rate.

The actual hotel, lobby, reception and pool area is absolutely beautiful on arrival 2 beautiful Rolls Royces parked out side and all your thoughts are wow until we got to the room. The photos online are definitely much nicer and seeing the property I’m sure they have some great rooms maybe because we booked through Expedia and got a discounted rate we got a room that matched the rate.

Poor quality stay for the price paid. Few positives being the breakfast is excellent for choice and quality, however this is let down with a below quality room. Heating does not work - so end up freezing overnight because the in room conditioner only cools. This is a known issue because they place a portable heater in the room. How that makes 5 stars I would never know. Very poor. Poor quality shower. Bedding quality is poor with terrible pillows. The bed sagged. Shocking stay. Would not recommend and would not be back with a price which tops the Gold Coast market. A hotel which is being run into the ground is the way to describe it. Go somewhere else like I did. I checked out the following day and moved hotels.

Exceptional hotel. We stayed in a Lagoon Room and it was very nice. Beautiful facilities, super comfortable bedding, and very clean. Buffett breakfast was truly a highlight and wonderful to have included along with free parking. A lovely location to stay, next time we will stay longer. Thank you, staff are very attentive and friendly.

The hotel has aged significantly since our last stay here. But still has all the charm even though it isn't attached to the 'Versace' brand directly. We did have a bad experience with one person, Maria, at the reception at time of check out. We received vouchers for drinks and dining credits when we checked in. This wasn't part of the Expedia booking and seems the person who checked us in made a mistake. We did utilise these credits during our stay assuming this was on offer to all. When we presented these at check out, Maria responded saying there is no package attached to our account. She rudely said that the voucher we showed her 'is just a piece of paper' insinuating we were trying to pull something off. She also condescendingly kept asking me if I can see any of this in my Expedia booking. We argued that this 'piece of paper' was presented to us by them, and we could have dined elsewhere - especially given the limited options for vegetarians. We stayed there for a week and the amount in credits was not much at all, however it was a matter of principle. The Manager was kind enough to understand what had happened and immediately resolved this. However, Maria's behaviour did make me think whether they hand these out to everyone at check in only to later rescind, dismiss it and charge you. Insinuation can go both ways. But can't take anything away from any of the other wonderful staff we engaged with during our stay. And the hotel still retains most of it's charm.

This is a lovely hotel, however standards just aren't being maintained to match the property. We had no particular issues with the staff - they were nice enough, if a little under-trained - there weren't enough of them to do their jobs well. Our bags weren't delivered to our room, multiple phone calls to the concierge and reception went unanswered as we tried to track them down. We were never told where and what the facilities were and when we tried to ask about the gym we could not find anyone to ask. Breakfast hot drinks were 15 minutes wait because there was only one young girl (doing her best) making them on a busy Sunday morning. Plates weren't cleared promptly from the table. We were hastily stuck in an overflow room for breakfast on crappy chairs and a fold-up table because they had closed a huge section of the restaurant to set the tables early for lunch - this could easily have been done after the breakfast service finished, without inconveniencing guests. The property is in dire need of basic maintenance, just simple things like bathroom taps needing new washers and sealant and the calcium build-up from the tap leaks removed. Furniture and wall damage needing repaired etc. Despite all of these little things we enjoyed our stay, it's just a shame that the standards aren't being maintained to make the experience feel 5-star.

I think the hotel needs to improve check in/check out arrangements. It took us half an hour wait in the queue to check in, and then we were told our room was not yet ready and they would give us a call. Nobody called whilst we waited by the pool and we had to go back to the reception to get our suite keys. A must improve area

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Imperial Hotel. Staff are wonderful along with the food and entertainment. The room was spacious, relaxing, immaculate and was meticulously clean. I’d recommend the Imperial Hotel to anyone and I will be returning.

Arrival: -No welcoming or greeting -No luggage service -The reception staff sat in front of you like they were your boss, with no eye contact or interaction. -Asked for $500 in incidental bonds on a credit card when the night only cost under $300. -No notification call when our room was ready when promised on check-in. -Extremely slow and frustrating check-in service. -No information given on check-in about the hotel service and facility. A/C in 2nd room faulty and switched at 3am. This used to be a great hotel! And whilst it still looks the part, the service is a shadow of it’s glory days! Do yourself a favour. Stay at the Sheraton across the road!

While the lobby and the rooms were kept in good shape - the pool area was in a bit of disrepair. It was very quiet and the pool area bar was not open or serving - but orders could be made to you seat via QR code. Staff were great but the location is a little bit away from the main areas. Still a manageable 1.5-2KM walk - but that is a bit after dinner.

We had a lovely time celebrating my husband’s 40th and were grateful for a free upgrade and small gift - a nice gesture that made the experience feel more special. Though the hotel overall is very tired and really needs a facelift. It doesn’t feel like a 5 star. Paintwork was chipped and stained, the pool area didn’t have enough umbrellas or lounge cushions, pool towels were stained, water glasses were old and faded, and they didn’t have enough seats or even space at the pool bar. The room was nice but tired again. They only gave us two towels so I had no separate towel for my hair. At a 5 star hotel, you expect these small things to be noticed and taken care of. The buffet was good, but not hugely impressive. No eggs to order for example. Though I did appreciate the barista coffee.

I am generally not a very critical reviewer and tend to overlook small issues, as I understand that mistakes can happen. However, I was quite disappointed with the housekeeping standards during this stay. When we first entered the room, I opened the curtains and found a single slipper behind them. I simply assumed that housekeeping had accidentally missed it and did not think too much of it. Unfortunately, that evening, when we were getting ready for bed, I found several very long strands of hair on the bedding. I have very short hair and my wife’s hair is nowhere near that length or colour, so this was quite unpleasant and made me question whether the room, or even the bedding, had been cleaned thoroughly. The following day, after swimming with my child, I discovered that the shower gel bottle was completely empty. I had to rinse off with water and later contact the concierge before it was replenished. On a positive note, the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. My concerns are not about their attitude, but rather the housekeeping standards and apparent lack of staffing. Breakfast was fairly ordinary for a five-star hotel, and there appeared to be too few staff. Coffee had to be ordered separately, and omelette orders were also taken at the coffee station. Overall, the staff were lovely, but the cleanliness, room preparation and service organisation fell noticeably short of what I would expect from a five-star hotel.
