This snow-ski property is quiet and beautiful in the summer. However, there’s a lot of unmet opportunity to make the green space and beautiful lake view an added amenity for Guests. I just wanted to be outside so although there were picnic tables, some nice chairs or loungers and some landscaping would do wonders to enhance their property. Lots of cigarette butts outside the 2 front entrances; that’s always a shame to see. And it’s gross. We didn’t notice any canisters for butts. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but several people seemed to be enjoying both. There was no food option on site as the restaurant was closed. Town was about 20 minutes away, so plan accordingly if you need snacks/food. Overall, we enjoyed this stay for a quiet and affordable portion of our northern WI trip.

It was great to have a quiet getaway without the constant buzz of nearby highways. The hotel is very well built so you don't hear the TV noise from next-door rooms. The pool was massive with a separate super large hot tub. I'll remember to bring my swimsuit next visit. Mike

It was very disappointing to find out we couldn't use the pool/hot tub when we arrived because it was rented out. I assume that we have "rented" the pool as customers of the hotel. The toilet ran all night and there was sand or dirt on the bedspread. Nothing overly terrible, but difficult to leave a great review.

Stayed at this rural ski lodge at off season to look for fall colors. Bed was comfortable, room was large. Hot tub was not very hot. There is no breakfast except on weekends for a charge (Friday morning). There was not a nearby town with breakfast that we knew of. The tv was streaming so you had to pay to view the Brewers playoff game. There is a $25 resort fee during non ski season. Very noisy (4 wheeler rally group stayed there). There were no tissues (have seasonal allergies) so that was inconvenient. Attendant staff was friendly (tried to find Brewer game for free…no luck). Expensive for off season. Would definitely not recommend.

The pool/hot tub area are big, would have been nice to have a table or two in there along with towels. Rooms were nice, restaurant staff was inadequate, ordered food and never received it after waiting 45 minutes.

Beautiful locations and building. We arrived at 9 pm. The pool closed at 9:30 and opens at 10. We booked this hotel to swim and were not able to. They could have been a little flexible.

We didn't stay the night. We walked into the room and there were flying ants all over the counter and floor. Spiders all over the closet. And a colony of ants in the corner. We also found crumbs and hair under the blankets. I'm hoping that they washed but I could believe that they didn't. The lighting in the room was bad. Pool was green with debris in it. The entire place is nothing like the pictures. The front desk person was nice. Forgot to take pictures. We didn't want to stay in there any longer than we had to.

There were ZERO amenities for their customers. No coffee, no breakfast when the nearest restaurants were over 10 miles away. The hotel restaurant was closed. We had to ask for towels, a hairdryer ( which they claimed they had none and I had to dry my hair with the room space heater), spiders EVERYWHERE in the room. Fridge didn’t run properly, the bathtub didn’t drain properly and every time we went to the front desk, no one was around. This place is a DISASTER! We will never ever stay here again.

We thought we would try this place out but for a weekend but most likely not return. The pool and hot tub tiles and area around looked pretty nasty, food at the restaurant was overpriced (paid $24 for 5 scrambled eggs, no kids menu and subpar food), room had lots of minor inconveniences (both tubs wouldn't close to take baths, fridge handle kept falling off, very outdated) but staff was super friendly.

Likely a structural issue, not inconsiderate guests. TV was Roku service (vs cable or satellite), so channels are limited. No blackout shade, just horizontal blinds, so not really private or darkening window treatments.

The room was smaller than expected, room was dark (the day, desk pern rounded up an extra light) TV reception not so good, WIFI was spotty. The food was good when available, Denali made a cheese pizza (her first try!) for us when getting back to the hotel late. She was great, give her a raise! There were some shortcomings, but we would stay there again, hope to be back that way in a couple years. 🙂

We loved our stay at Whitecap Mountain Resort. Area was beautiful. Staff were wonderful. We had a great time! Only negative was the tiny shower. But it did the job. :)

The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. My only complaints are that the pool was very cold (I couldn’t even swim in it) the walls were paper thin (I could hear every word from next door) and you had to use your own streaming services in order to watch TV.

The staff was amazing! We arrived very late and were upgraded without request. The king suite was huge and very clean with a great view of the lake and lift. The desk staff was friendly and professional.

This was our first time staying here. We will be back! The resort had a lot of opportunities to do things. We really enjoyed the evening campfire. The resort was clean. We appreciated the bar / restaurant. Above all, the staff that worked there, very nice and professional!

The pool/hot tub area are big, would have been nice to have a table or two in there along with towels. Rooms were nice, restaurant staff was inadequate, ordered food and never received it after waiting 45 minutes.

My stay at White Cap mountain resort was nothing short of amazing! The scenery there is absolutely breathtaking. The staff was super friendly. From the gentleman that checked me in and gave me all the waterfall brochures that I made sure to visit, to the young new bartender that had an amazing personality. He was very engaging and knew how to keep a conversation going, to the front desk girl who was super sweet and helpful. I was looking forward to taking a bath after a day of hiking. The stopper on the bathtub was not working properly and would not keep water. They upgraded my room without hesitation. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

This snow-ski property is quiet and beautiful in the summer. However, there’s a lot of unmet opportunity to make the green space and beautiful lake view an added amenity for Guests. I just wanted to be outside so although there were picnic tables, some nice chairs or loungers and some landscaping would do wonders to enhance their property. Lots of cigarette butts outside the 2 front entrances; that’s always a shame to see. And it’s gross. We didn’t notice any canisters for butts. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but several people seemed to be enjoying both. There was no food option on site as the restaurant was closed. Town was about 20 minutes away, so plan accordingly if you need snacks/food. Overall, we enjoyed this stay for a quiet and affordable portion of our northern WI trip.

Restaraunt was closed and there are no close breakfast options. "Cafe" charged 4.50 for a regular cup of black coffee. I bet its nice during the ski season, but the summer is a season too.

Restaurant and bar are only open on weekends, which was not disclosed upon booking. Noise from room above, footsteps and barking dog, was annoying. Likely a structural issue, not inconsiderate guests. TV was Roku service (vs cable or satellite), so channels are limited. No blackout shade, just horizontal blinds, so not really private or darkening window treatments.

The room was smaller than expected, room was dark (the day, desk pern rounded up an extra light) TV reception not so good, WIFI was spotty. The food was good when available, Denali made a cheese pizza (her first try!) for us when getting back to the hotel late. She was great, give her a raise! There were some shortcomings, but we would stay there again, hope to be back that way in a couple years. 🙂

Stayed at this rural ski lodge at off season to look for fall colors. Bed was comfortable, room was large. Hot tub was not very hot. There is no breakfast except on weekends for a charge (Friday morning). There was not a nearby town with breakfast that we knew of. The tv was streaming so you had to pay to view the Brewers playoff game. There is a $25 resort fee during non ski season. Very noisy (4 wheeler rally group stayed there). There were no tissues (have seasonal allergies) so that was inconvenient. Attendant staff was friendly (tried to find Brewer game for free…no luck). Expensive for off season. Would definitely not recommend.

Nice place to stay in Upson. Near Lake Superior but out of the city. We were able to travel to many beaches and waterfalls. the resort is not as busy in the summer so the restaurant and lounge were closed three of our nights there which was unfortunate since there were not many other options close for dining. The early morning front desk employee I did not get his name but he was pleasant and helpful with all our needs and Danali in the restaurant/ lounge was very helpful and fun to get to chat with. We would stay here again if we are in the area. The only other suggestion to the hotel would to be to have fans on hand we stayed in a room with multi levels and the upstairs had no air conditioning. It made for a stuffy long night a few of the days when the weather was a little warmer with no winds.

First of all, don't use google maps if you are arriving in the dark! Google told us we had "arrived at our location" and we had no idea where we were except on a dark, county road. The signage to the hotel from the county road is NON-EXISTENT. Next, this is a ski lodge, so imagine a room that gets pretty beat up by guests during the winter. (We stayed here during the summer.) Don't expect any nearby restaurants, because there are none--at least in the summer. But it was a place to stay. The room was fairly clean but could used some updating.

Super friendly staff. The family suite was very clean. The water valves in the shower were backwards, but once we figured that out, we just ran with it. We were there on an event weekend, so waited a bit longer for our dinner. We were content visiting with one another while we waited. Our drinks were covered by the staff due to our wait. We hadn't asked or offered any complaint, so that was both unexpected and appreciated. We would certainly stay again, if in the area.
