Firstly, I'll start with the good. Service was friendly, and the continental breakfast was filling. Secondly, in terms of location, this place is right by a tram stop, and above a supermarket. So if you are on a tight budget, that could work for you. In terms of physical access, you will need to be able to get up steep stairs, twice in some cases. If you are disabled in any significant way, this could be a challenge. We got into our room, which was serviceable, but not very clean. The furniture is cheap mdf stuff. Drawers had trash in them from the previous occupant, and the sheets appeared to have nail varnish on them, and little bits of black stuff. We asked for the sheets to be changed, and were told housekeeping had gone home. I said I didn't mind changing the sheets and took a fresh set upstairs. Not ideal, but fine. Towels clean. The TV worked fine, but could not be cast to. If it had had that feature it would have been more useful. The radiators were off when we came in, and we turned these on in the evening on the second day. Without doing this, the room was cold. When they were on, they were linked to a central timer, so we had a couple of hours of heat, and the room was cold again in the morning. There was no hot water, in the shared toilet or in the sink in the room. This is a basic and we were disappointed by this. If you are looking at this hotel due to financial constraints, just be warned you will get what you pay for. Set expectations accordingly.

It’s was nice stay. if you take tram from Amsterdam central to overtoom it takes about 15min approx cost about €3.50 for 1 hour .breakfast was good we enjoyed it . The only downside is the toilets and bath room are shared but for cost I think it’s ok

We would have enjoyed our stay here but we are older and we just couldn't manage the steep stairs that lead to reception and then to our room. We needed to have an elevator available or a building with more standard stairs.

Steep narrow stairs. A real killer to get up and down to third floor. Staff took my case up, but I really struggled getting down with it and going up without it was bad enough.

Acceuil super , petit dejeuner compris juste comme il faut. Les escaliers sont raide mais non dérangeant car cest un peu comme une grande maison de amsterdam. Arret de tram juste en face donc facile de rejoindre tout les points stratégique de la ville. Salle de bain commune simple et propre. J'y retournerai sans hésiter.

O acesso aos quartos é muito ruim, com escadas estreitas e diversas chaves para abrir as portas até o quarto. O café da manhã é bem gostoso e a localização muito boa. O banheiro é péssimo, ele inunda inteiro. Tive uma experiência bem ruim que estava tomando banho e o funcionário bateu na porta gritando comigo para fechar o chuveiro pois estava vazando água. A estrutura do banheiro é péssima! Nunca tomei banho em um lugar tão ruim!

While the room has been well used, the beds were comfortable and clean. What more could you ask for. The provided breakfast was very good with cereal, juices, hard boiled eggs, bread, cheese and deli meats as well as coffee or tea. The hotel is centrally located close to Vondelpark, the largest public park in Amsterdam, and the Leidseplein, one of the busiest centres for nightlife in the city.

Hôtel très sale, très bruyant, et mal odorant. Petit déjeuner à fuir, pain et beurre au menu, rien de plus. Nous sommes restés 3 jours sur place et pas une fois nos serviettes ont été changés ou le ménage fait dans nos chambres. Vraiment honteux, le pire hôtel que j’ai pris à Amsterdam

The minute I walked in I spotted the huge yellow cat meandering the floor. I panicked, I am deathly (epi shot) allergic to cats. Then we were led up the narrow stair case to our room and I nearly cried. Many weeks and seven hotels throughout Europe and this one was UGLY. Think motel 6 1970’s at 40x the cost. But. It was the most comfortable bed and pillow of anywhere we had stayed. The location is amazing. And the desk people were really nice. Four days and I think all the maid ever did was drop clean towels on our beds. And breakfast was so so. The heated milk and cereal milk were always the same luke warm temperatures as each other and evidently, the customers lost their toaster privileges. The pictures look far better than reality.

Most horrible hotel i have ever been. I do not even know how a platform like hotels.com allows places like this to be advertised. Reality is not even close to the pictures you see online. Other people have claimed also about bedbugs. Avoid taking the risk and reserve somewhere else.

My best friend and I had a great time staying at the Hotel. Sadly my sheets were dirty when we arrived but I got a change really easily and the employees were really nice, too. All in all it wasn't the cleanest place but allright for a short stay.

Shampoo and shower gel were available at the reception, and there was also a hair dryer and a kettle in the room. If you return to the hotel late at night, you might sometimes see drunk people lying near the entrance. Of course, this is not directly the hotel’s fault, but it was a bit concerning for me. Breakfast was simple but reasonable. The staff were generally polite and helpful. Thank you for their service.

Das Hotel ist super gelegen und einfach zu erreichen. Leider waren unsere Betten und auch das Zimmer sehr dreckig. Die Handtücher rochen etwas komisch. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr einfach gehalten, was für den Preis aber in Ordnung ist. Das Personal war sehr nett.

Cheap and reasonable comfortable option for stayin in Amsterdam. Nothing dries in the bathroom (not even the mirror). The bed was a bit bumpy, the room very plain. Previous guest's damp towel was still hanging in the room when we came.

There was also a distinct smell in the room of smoke that wouldn’t go away. Since we were on the top floor, the heat made the smell worse. The beds were not comfortable and very narrow. You couldn’t even turn over without almost falling off the bed. When entering the building, there were homeless men sleeping on the stair entrance blocking exits and entrances. The breakfast area was also extremely hot which made it unenjoyable to eat there. Would not recommend the coffee there. Only plus was grocery store nearby.

Der Anfang war etwas holprig, dauerte etwas da wohl meine Buchung nicht eingetragen war und ich nochmal s bezahlen sollte…..naja auf einmal war sie doch da :D Zimmer: der kleine Balkon war super, mit kleinem Waschbecken, dafür mit Gemeinschafts WC und Dusche, was schon anstrengend sein kann, Zimmer sehr hellhörig. Für eine Nacht ok. Die Lage ist gut!

Maybe yard rooms are quieter but mine had a tram noise and street noise. I highly recommend to rent something a bit farther from the city center for the same money. I had 2 nights of none refundable stay. Otherwise would move out after first night experience.

I was unable to check in for my stay as my flight was cancelled due to weather conductions. I asked for a refund which they said no to which I understand to a certain extent. However, I asked if I could simply come the next weekend with the same dates and they utterly refused. When I tried to call to talk about it, the man on the phone spoke to me with so much disdain in his voice. He acted like I was dirt and told me to go send and email as couldn’t be bothered to help me. Do not book with them.

All the staff were so friendly. Breakfast was nice and there were always tea, coffe an snacks in the lobby. The room condition was fine compared the price. In overall, I had very positive experience especially when you think about the price.

The place to be is the Overtoom, so the environment was marvelous. The smell of weed in the middle of the night, when I opened the beautiful balcony door, was nasty and overwhelming.

Unser Zimmer war zur Straße Seite, eine viel befahrene Hauptstraße. Ein Zimmer zum Hof hätte ich bevorzugt ( das es die Option gibt es zu buchen ) .
