BLR Villas Dover Beach

The staff were friendly enough, but the property is in real need of a facelift. The communal furniture is incredibly dated, and the to plunge pools are very small, but did seem clean. The room we paid to upgrade to was under repair so we were put in a lower level room without any compensation. Practically every surface needs to be refinished (paint, skirting boards, etc). The location was well situated and the property appears to be secure. If this is the best price you can find, and the room is of no matter, it is at least walkable to the beach and restaurants.

Friendly staff

The air conditioning was stuck on for the entire stay. I was told it would be fixed but wasn’t. The was one knife to eat with I have stayed in many similar apartments where the basic condiments are provided. There was nothing. The reception was largely unattended. The two “pool” were about two metres squared. I have no idea how they took the shot that suggests otherwise. There was daily noisy construction work taking place behind the property (including weekends) spoiling the time spent outside and inside.

Pros: good size fridge/freezer, close to the beach, nice water pressure in the shower, small pool looked clean. Cons: horrible pillows, shower bar kept falling down, ripped towels, never saw the cleaning staff (although they left a bag of cleaning stuff out side our door for 24 hours). Had to go to the office for toilet paper. Our room wasn’t checked or cleaned during our 9 day stay. Nobody in the office for checkout, I just locked the door and left the key on the table. Some repeat guest seem to run the place at night, taking over the small common space for 4 units from 6-11pm nightly, requesting we turn on our outside lights for them to enjoy their dinner and drinks. We really enjoyed Barbados but will stay elsewhere if we go back, lots of other options.

Room was very basic, but met our needs. The biggest issue was the smell of marijuana constantly permeating the property.
