The first thing you should know is that the property is mid way through being renovated so the place looks a bit of a mess but we had a clean comfortable room with everything you could need. the hotel is at the bottom of the main street in Katoomba so the shops and places to eat are close by. The staff were also very helpful.

Fabulous location to shops/cafes/restaurants and also walkable to the national parks (30 mins). They are obviously in the middle of renovations with all the building material around. The motel is old and run down but still a good comfortable bed and hot shower provided. Also wifi. Would recommend for the price and location

Very old worn out motel that needs some love. Some renovation work happening on the other side of the building made it noisy at times. The bed was comfy and the shower hot. The room was clean.

Obviously the property is undergoing restoration, so it is difficult to rate at this time. I hope that when it is restored, it will be considerably better in surroundings than it is now, as it is in a dilapidated state with limited facilities.

Although part of place is in construction, the rooms thats open for public stay was clean and spacious. The place have their own vintage feels. TH he manager was kind enough to discuss to future of place and walk around the current place. Bit of tight car parking but we were lucky enough to get the car park right in front of our room. Looking forward to visit again

Room was clean ,bed linen and tower clean and fresh, bed mattres good and new, room have small fredge ,catle,tea and coffee, tv and AC. But room need change curtain,carpet, bathroom , wall painting and new furnishing. Motel staff very friendly.

The property manger is very friendly, warm, welcoming and cheerful. Bedrooms are very clean and comfortable. Some parts of the property is under renovation, but very little noise or dust. Overall it is a quiet retreat, great price for the room

We stayed here because it was convenient to shops. The condition of the motel is awful. Everything is old and dingy. The lights hardly provided enough light. The Rooms smell musty. The gentleman who ran it was helpful. He allowed us to change rooms because the bathroom tap was constantly dripping. I couldn’t recommend this motel. The only redeeming feature was that it was clean.

I booked the Clarendon because we were attending a birthday nearby and this was the closest to the location and as it happened, we were next door! So for us it was perfect as we could just walk to the party and not worry about taxis or ubers, it was also just the one night. The Motel itself is a little run down and it looks like there's work being done but also not sure when the work started or likely to finish. The room was comfortable, we had two queen beds in our room and the bedding was clean though the pillows were hard and not so comfortable. It was clean and we were fine to stay the night. The location though is fabulous, walking distance to the main street for food, shopping....all you need is just there. The location is fab, the motel is a little run down but if you're staying the weekend on the cheap, it's a great little stay.

It's an older property so don't go expecting all the flash mod-cons. Our room had a TV, air-con and wi-fi, so the modern basics are there. The decor and furniture is from the last century, but it's ok. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, so all good there. We were very comfortable in our Queen room which had a nice little sun-room area where we could sit and talk. We had a great time in Katoomba and the hotel is conveniently located close to Katoomba Street and all the cafes, restaurants and shops. There's an Aldi, Coles and Liquorland very close by, which was very handy! The breakfast offering was reasonably priced, but it's a continental breakfast only. If you want the full English breakfast you'll have to make the short walk to Katoomba Street (no more than 100 metres away). We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Really great value for the price. Considering we were just there to sleep, this place had everything we needed in a room. Clean, firm but comfortable bed, shower with good water pressure.

Room very ordinary and comfortable and just OK. However, the Manager is very helpful. He is quick to respond to residents' reasonable requests. He will go an extra mile to help out on residents' legitimate requests.

The property is a bit old, but I think that's reflected in the price. If your expectations are not too high, then you won't be disappointed. We like it because it's close to the town centre and restaurants, and is basically pretty comfortable. This is our third or fourth stay and find the staff to be really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely stay again!

Character and charm. Host is very friendly and generous. Continental breakfast in the front room is great. The cabaret room looks fantastic. Hotel is next to RSL so easy walk to dinner. Good location. Rooms are large with good amenities.

Ok at 3.5 stars this is not luxurious accommodation but the place is very clean, close to the high street, restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly.

Comfortable room at a fair price in a walkable area. Very close to a big club that does a cheap lunch (even on a Sunday). You could walk or take a short 5 minute drive to Katoomba central. Council parking rates are seriously expensive down at the Echo Point Lookout (3 Sisters). It is a fairly long hike there, but you can drive a k.m. down the road and find free parking, walk the extra 500m. That gives you time to take the free walks which are the true highlight of the area without wasting $20 per hour on council parking. Your other choice these days is the $70 fee per person to use the Scenic Skyway and Railway. No cheap family day in Katoomba doing that. It's good if you have spare money but there are other ways to enjoy your money. Keep this location in mind.

I booked a twin room for an overnight stay for my son and I while on one of our roadtrips..! The hotel staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. The Clarendon is quite an old building and as real estate agents like to say: "In original condition", but the bedding and towels are clean and the rooms are tidy. The breakfast is very reasonably priced for a continental-style breakfast (cereal/toast/spreads etc) - my son was offered breakfast for free(!) however, on our road trips we prefer a big 'English breakfast' which the hotel does not provide. That's no problem, because within 100m there are cafes galore catering for every kind of taste. This was my second stay at the Clarendon, and I will be going back again since the value and location are hard to beat.

According to a tourist brochure in the foyer there should have been a free continental breakfast included in the accommodation. The staff did not inform me of this when I filled in the check in form. Rm 13 needs a freshen up. The gauze on the bathroom window has a gaping hole. Could not have the window open to allow airflow. The shower was good.

It is cheap so we didn't expect much. But it was oke and had everything we needed. They pretend that breakfast is free, but afterwards they charge you 10 dollars PP for it in a not so friendly way and it is not worth the 10 dollars at al.
