Great place to stay, there's literally nothing to fault. Great staff, friendly bar, comfortable, good shower, good breakfast. I'll be very happy to stay again.

Lovely overnight stay and beautiful setting. Staff very friendly and mostly accommodating. Delicious food and very comfortable rooms. Only criticism would be that evening bar staff ,only 1 staff member,was trying to rush us off before the advertised bar closing time commenting that we were and had been the only customers for the last hour,as though we should feel guilty for remaining until the official closing time of the bar or had been some sort of inconveniece.

Lovely hotel clean etc. provide fresh milk jug for the room which is good & unusual. Disappointing cooked breakfast & cook needs to learn how to make scrambled egg. But otherwise a good stay.

A little surprised to be told that the last orders at the bar were 10:45 pm! On a Saturday night? 😂😂 I tried to use the USB point on the bedside plug socket, there was no actual socket guts behind it, just a facia. What on earth is the point other than to look good? Tiny Shower Room. The staff are nice and the location is super.

Does what it says on the tin. Warm - hugely important in Winter. Welcoming, reception and service were excellent. Good value, rooms clean and well equipped with teas, coffee and toiletries, fantastic shower. Vastly superior and better value and experience than Premier and Travelodge “equivalents’.

We stayed here last night and had a brilliant experience. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome – a special mention to Holly, who was absolutely fantastic and made such a difference to our stay. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and really comfortable. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere with a great mix of character and comfort. We’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommended!

This is a lovely hotel by the side of the river Trent. Our room was spotless and seemed as though it had been recently redecorated, with a very nice bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice.

Such a lovely location by the riverside, an easy walk down the river to Burton or round the nature reserve. The room had been refurbished and although smaller than usual the attention to detail and quality of the decor was excellent and tea and coffee selection really good with nice big cups and saucers and the option of fresh milk from the hotel. Nice welcome note and chocolate. Wi fi good. Lovely bath and shower with plenty of hot water and nicely tiled and maintained bathroom - only tiny change would be to put some hair and shower products lower down so they could be reached when having a bath.

Very welcoming and friendly hotel. We stayed over for a wedding and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Although the roons were on the small side they were perfect for what we required. Food was good and staff pleasant. Would stay here again.

Great setting on the river. EV charger was a real bonus for us. The room wasn’t that big, but had everything we needed and was very clean. Comfortable bed. Our evening meal was fine and breakfast very good. A good stopover.

Stayed for one night on a business trip. The rooms are particularly small, but the issue is, the walls are made of paper, so make sure you have ear plugs. Great food in the restaurant and would be a lovely location in the summer.

Property and staff were excellent. Room 8 was comfortable but one night 2 hours of something working like a washing machine with football boots being washed and also about 1 o'clock in the morning we were awakened by loud talking and banging on doors.

I stay at this hotel on a regular basis and find it very convenient and comfortable. Last night, the restaurant was unexpectedly busy with a number of large parties. The staff coped admirably and although I was on my own, my meal was served on time and was great. Well done.

Great hotel Love staying here, lovely walk down the river with a nearby championship golf course. (Small 9 course is not great) Food is always good and the service is very friendly. Rooms are clean and warm with tea, coffee and chocolates. I left my company credit card in my room and the manager called me the next day to post it back

Excellent hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here. Very close to Bloodstock Festival so was able to get a rest after 4 days at the festival before the drive home. Food in the restaurant downstairs was so nice and reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely too. We have already booked for the day after the festival next year!

We had a lovely stay and everyone was very helpful. However we did have issues with cleanliness of cups and plates at breakfast also some items not replenished unless it was pointed out to someone.

Lovely hotel clean etc. provide fresh milk jug for the room which is good & unusual. Disappointing cooked breakfast & cook needs to learn how to make scrambled egg. But otherwise a good stay.

This is a lovely hotel by the side of the river Trent. Our room was spotless and seemed as though it had been recently redecorated, with a very nice bathroom. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice.

Having stayed at the Riverside many times pre-Covid, we were delighted to see the changes that had been made over the last 5 years. The new decor is a vast improvement and very tasteful, in our opinion. The room we had, albeit relatively small was fine and it was nice to have the air-conditioning, as it was a very warm night. The menu was adequate with a reasonable choice; unfortunately we had to leave before trying breakfast. All the staff were lovely, especially the lady who had just started that day (Colette?). We will definitely be going back next month, when we return to Burton. It is a testament to this new regime that the bar, terrace and restaurant were busy with all manner of people, including paddle boarders. Again a vast improvement of 5 years ago. Well done, Adam and his team. PS thanks for the chocolates on the bed.
