Very good value for money. However, was not aware that each room used shared bathroom facilities. This was not a problem but a more prominent note on the website would have been useful. Also, no Wifi available.

Property had good storage for our bikes. Added bonus was the setup for charging of ebikes. Food was good and staff attentive. Beds were comfortable. We would stay here again

An incredible, nicely refurbished historical hotel! The bedding is excellent, the rooms are have modern amenities, while showcasing the historicness of hotel. And the front desk staff really support bicyclists! BVRT riders will feel at home.

Nice place to stay. Quite expensive due to having to walk down hallway to use shared toilets and bathrooms which were clean but dated. There were no hand basins to wash hands in toilets. The staff were very friendly and the food was very nice. Room was clean and tidy with comfortable bed.

The Manager was very welcoming upon arrival. He gave us lots of information about our stay and the surrounding area. Supplied a secure locked storage for my Bicycle. Food was amazing and all the girls behind the bar and in the dining, area were friendly polite and very accommodating. I look forward to staying there again next time I am in the area.

Enjoyed the stay & staff very friendly with meals and outdoor garden area lovely. The main thing missing was a kettle in the room to make a cup of tea/coffee early in the morning.

The BEST Country hotel I have ever stayed in. The cleanest room with the sharpest hospital corners I have ever seen. Kitchen served up a great meal and the best part was the friendly attentive staff. If you're going through Esk don't push on, stay the night, The ESK Grand hotel is worth the stay.

Delightful country hospitality and dining. The room was clean and comfortable. Like some older country hotels, the room did not have an ensuite - the bathroom facilities were shared between rooms - although there was a basin and mirror in the room. The shared facilities were clean and securely lockable from the inside for privacy but may be an issue for some travellers.

We were very happy with our stay. Not really a ‘cheap’ pub room, but the room was great. Small, but very clean and an extremely comfortable bed. Best sleep in a hotel or motel bed that I have ever had. The room was also very quiet, cold air con, nice and dark for sleeping. The bathroom was ‘meh’, could’ve been cleaner but it served its purpose. The food was great, steak was way too expensive for us, we both had a Schnitzel which was amazing. Nice outdoor eating area, fast and friendly service.

My Name is Jay and I'm Profoundly Deaf , I stayed over night on the 16th of June 2025: Eve , Micheal and all the staff I come in contact with were/are fantastic, friendly, helpful , kind and very accommodating. Being a Profoundly Deaf person , all the staff tried their 100% to communicate with me. I recommend The Grand Hotel Esk to anyone needing a wonderful place to stay , have a fantastic meal and injoy a family friendly atmosphere. Thank-you very much for a 5 star experience . No complaints. Ideal for an overnight stay on the BVRT. Only suggestion: would be nice to have tea/coffee and kettle in rooms, but given the facilities downstairs, perhaps I’m nitpicking. Can’t fault this venue. Food in restaurant downstairs is excellent; staff absolutely great!

Great country hospitality at a very well maintained venue. Very high service orientation from all staff. Very clean and inviting environment. Great food at the restaurant onsite. Overall a great place to stay in the lovely town of Esk.

Fully authentic vintage pub stay, loved it. Had the creaky floor and steps, the meat tray raffle at the bar, great food and staff that were very welcoming.

We were very happy with our stay. Not really a ‘cheap’ pub room, but the room was great. Small, but very clean and an extremely comfortable bed. Best sleep in a hotel or motel bed that I have ever had. The room was also very quiet, cold air con, nice and dark for sleeping. The bathroom was ‘meh’, could’ve been cleaner but it served its purpose. The food was great, steak was way too expensive for us, we both had a Schnitzel which was amazing. Nice outdoor eating area, fast and friendly service.

The Hotel is an Old Hotel, full of character for a country town. Accommodation is upstairs, so you need to climb stairs. Interior and exterior. The reception is at the bar. Plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel. The single room, has a queen bed, bar fridge, chest of drawers and a desk which has tea, coffee, biscuits, cup n saucer x2. TV and a small hand basin, with toiletries, No toilet or shower/bath in room. They are positioned off the hall way. So you will be sharing them with other guests. So don't expect these to be in pristine condition. The staff are very friendly and willing to assist you with any concerns you may have. The food is affordable and excellent servings, Seniors Meals were Large and delicious. We celebrated a 99th Birthday for Lunch. And there was plenty of room to accommodate a big crowd. They staff kindly decorated the area with balloons, and fully set tables. And the staff were very attentive to your needs. Coffee shop had amazing dessert cakes etc. If you are passing through Esk, stop off and enjoy a great meal here.
