Hotel and staff are lovely. Unfortunately, the plumbing is quite loud - adjacent rooms turning on a tap results in a noise akin to a high pressure hose. As my neighbour evidently needed to use their bathroom frequently over the course of the night, my own night was quite interrupted. If they could fix the plumbing the hotel would be fabulous. As it stands, your would stay there hoping that your neighbour kept civilised bathroom hours.

Having been staying at this hotel for over 30 years. Unfortunately it is all about making money with the guest coming second. Food and drinks overpriced and quality has declined. Will be looking at alternatives when next in Canberra.

From the moment we arrived until we left, our experience at the Hyatt Canberra was exceptional. We travel extensively throughout Australia and overseas, staying in many luxury hotels each year, and I can honestly say this is comfortably in our top three. What stood out wasn’t just the beautiful heritage building or the elegant surroundings, it was the people. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. That level of hospitality is becoming increasingly rare and deserves recognition. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between timeless luxury and comfort. Every space is immaculately presented, the atmosphere is calm and refined, and there is a genuine sense of pride in every detail. It’s easy to understand why this hotel has earned such an outstanding reputation. If you’re visiting Canberra and appreciate exceptional service, classic elegance and a truly memorable stay, I couldn’t recommend the Hyatt Canberra more highly. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit such a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning.

Wonderful location - by the lake. Beautifully restored and still has the great sense of history. Accessible entrance is at the rear of the hotel- call ahead and concierge can meet you there ot assist with luggage
